The current plan is to implement the ability to battle alongside chocobos in the future, so the growth system is being planned to train chocobos in preparation for battle.

We also plan on implementing other mounts in the future, so we will look into chocobo speed in conjunction with the other mounts.

Already not looking good anymore this idea...i was hoping something like FFXI chocobo system...it was such a fun system...too bad this one will be crappy :/

So, they're rescinding the old promise that our chocobo will be variously coloured, huh? 'Cause aways back it was pretty definitively said that chocobo of various colours would be in the game, not that they were 'looking into whether or not [they] will implement additional colours in the future'.

Honestly, as per the above, this whole thing will lose the vast majority of its appeal if it turns out they're leaving out stuff like breeding and just tacking on a generic mount system; I hope that's just a misread implication and it will indeed be coming later.

Breed system come later. We all knew this.
First we get chocobos to ride.

I can't wait to fight alongside my bocochos! I mean chobocos! I wonder if we'll get access to skills like Choco Meteor and Choco Cure?

I realize that there are bigger fish to fry, but having this in the game makes me very happy. :o
