Please do not lock Jobs to the Weapon Class that unlocks them.

So how would it be any different with a Gladiator equipping all Thaumaturge skills because he's "emo" right now in-game, versus a Gladiator with a Black Mage Job (Gladiator/Black Mage) when the overhaul is done?

I think it will be like this:

Unlike Classes, you cant change your Job out in the field. Equipping a different weapon will effect what class you are, but not what Job you are. If it is done that way, then you can have your job as Paladin, have the paladin specific skills, and still be able to equip Swords, Axes, Spears, Bows, what not. Tho, he has worded it, you wont be able to equip certain class skills to certain jobs. Like a Warrior will no longer be able to use Heal spells, or just the higher heal spells, but be able to equip most every weaponskill, whereas paladin may be more limited in weaponskill selection, but can use higher heal spells (or has some job-specific self healing ability). Something like that.

Since Marauder right now has tanking and enmity abilities of its own, i dont see a problem with Paladin being able to use axes and marauder abilities. It is just tanking in a different way. Same with pugilist tanks. Tho I know it isn't the 'traditional' paladin, as far as FF goes.

I would agree to this.

I think this is going to work like a tree.

You have your main class - Lancer

Then you will unlock a Job which will further define your role in a party. I do not think we will see new weapons, if there are new weapons we will see new classes as well.

Your Job is tied to your class. You cannot be a Dragoon in any class other than Lancer. You may be able to use some skills from Dragoon in other classes like we can currently, but you will not be a Lancer/Dragoon, you will be whatever class/job you are with some Dragoon skills.

Dragoon isn't a Tier of Lancer its just a Title basically. Your still a Lancer/Dragoon.

Also pretty sure you wont see Job Specific Skills being cross class thats the whole point. Dragoon itself with get all the Jump Skills and you can only use them if thats your Job.

I'm using it as an example. Don't flip out bro.

Of course you won't see class "Specific" skills on other classes. But no one said all dragoon skills would be class specific.

You can look at it how ever you want but until it has its own levels all it is is a title. Right now we have no evidence it has its own individual level system
