Yeah, healer is always in-need in trials roulette it seems, and I've been seeing some really bad Bismarck HM runs lately with low DPS that even I'm in clerics helping out as much as-possible. One run the other healer bailed after a wipe because they just couldn't take one person falling off and the already lax DPS. I bet it wasn't the first time they had to deal with it either.
But I agree during Early Access weekend it was cake, but I think it's because we get a larger percentage of "die-hards" that were speed-leveling their mains and generally know their jobs well. Same with Steps on the first day of that 2.55 patch.
Fractal run. DPS is low, really low, but not so bad we can't clear stuff before we run out of, for example, things to feed the minotaur. We eventually get to the last boss...
Slow, again, but crawlers are dying and mechanics are getting handled. Until the DRK (well geared and showing his disgust at the DPS the whole run, and generally being impatient) stands in a glowy panel and, with 3 stacks of vulnerability, finally dies to the big cleave. Checked the death report and I did have heals landing on him, just wasn't enough to overcome 3 damage sources with 3 stacks of vulnerability.
Got kicked. :/ Not a big deal since every time I queue, healers are instant, but bleh.
Yeah, same... I feel bad (for the other healer) every time I ham the DPS on that trial, just to try to get passed the checks (IE 'got tired of wiping from not meeting DPS checks'). Not that I DON'T heal, I just Cleric more aggressively to keep DoTs up and chain-Stone III-ing and then jump out of Cleric when fans are slapping shit or it seems the other healer needs help (or re-prepping Asylum/regen/Medica/Medica II) :/. I've been on the reverse (being the one healing mainly while the other healer is hard DPSing) and I find it's unfortunately needed for one or the other healer to do it on the low DPS runs ---- until things stabilize, I hope.
One thing I find that a lot of casters don't seem to realize - they need to be ON Bismark to actually do damage....... x.x; Every run has at least one or two (either casters or the other healer) attempting to DPS and get away with not havign the the DoT. x.x Theres a reason why I Medica II just before everyone and I jump on... lol
Just a Side Note. As a DRK Tank myself i'm really sad for all the hatred against drks ._.
I've run into more bad DRK tanks than good DRK tanks, but I'm just going to chalk that up to the unfamiliarity to the toolkit.
With that being said, the good DRKs I've run with, I've seen no difference in healing them versus a good WAR or PLD.
On the flip side, any tank being played poorly is just terrible, and makes the job of the healer that much more stressful.
Thy^^ What i fear is that DRK Players will be shunned because they have this "drks are usually players who cant tank and suck" reputation. I really really want to play drk. even in raid. But just to be sure i can see the raid im lvling war up. Thats really sad.
A "Healing Horror Story" of mine:
I was lvling my drk and got an ast. He was so focused on drawing cards that i solo healed myself on trash x.x
