Especially since you changed to a male Lala... Lalas in general are fairly gender neutral. My main is a female Lala, and people think I'm a guy from time to time because she is fairly androgynous.

I think the majority of male players that play female characters have no real issue with females playing as males. I hope you'll understand that your experiences are likely due to not encountering situations where people don't speak up about it.

Actually it is the opposite (according to what the guys wrote in their applications). Most guys (even if playing female character -no matter the reasoning behind-) "prefers" (in most cases it actually meant want/just look for) girls playing female characters as well. There is a minority that are completely find with a girl playing males cuz they are playing females.

Can confirm with personal experience. It's one of the reasons I stay away from voice chat nowadays, because when I'm playing a male character and jump on voice chat, some guys can get hostile. If they don't try to start hitting on you, I mean.

Also, pls more success stories, I need my fill of romance.

Ok, I'm going to say this one last thing and I'm done with this whole discussion about males and females X_X. The woman that I'm with should not expect me to fantasia to a male simply to be around her. Nor will I ever want someone to fantasia to be female to be around me. I will continue to put my ad, or whatever you want to call it, up every now and again in the hopes it catches the eye of my soulmate (should she be playing FF14). I honestly don't really play that much anymore. As I have stated time and time again, this to me is a longshot that I honestly expect nothing to happen. I don't know what else to say really. I have said what I wanted earlier and I don't need to keep explaining myself or rehashing something that I think I made quite clear. With that I think I'm done I'm too tired as of writing this to come up with anything more. The bottom line is, I don't mind if the woman I'm with plays a male character. Character Race/Gender: All of the races and genders, Seriously I get bored and change a lot or change it based on different aesthetics of a glamour I may like. I am Male IRL.

Main Class: RDM/All casters, also tank (but need to get those guys caught up),I Can heal buuuut, its scary for everyone...like if they gave me a healer dagger to stab with I would be a much better healer.

Do you care if the player in real life is not the same gender as their character?: If you just want to be friends then I do not care if you are male or female in real life. If you are hoping to develop this into something more serious beyond the game then unfortunately you would need to be Female.

Character Race: Any race or gender I do not care what a person plays it is their money and time they are free to do what they desire.

Dislikes: Flakes, liars, "know it alls", people who lack a sense of humor, people who cannot have a discussion and accept the other side of the argument even if they vehemently disagree.

Goals for the game: Currently to upgrade to a medium size house, Knock out some old raid content and try to do current raid content, Level up all my classes to 70. do stuff that is fun and hang out with people.

Goals for the marriage union: find a friend or partner who I can hang with regularly and maybe more. someone I can ring stock and drive insane =) jk...maybe...

Preference and expectation are not the basis of understanding or acceptance. The majority of those people who prefer or expect one thing, are just fine with the other. To say otherwise without any actual basis behind it is misleading, and is bound to cause undue pressure among the player population for no real reason.

To elaborate on what I said before since it didn't seem to be understood... You aren't going to hear people everywhere tell you that they're fine with your decisions. People accept things and move on, and when they do they usually don't tell anyone about it. The people who get upset about other peoples decisions are what you call the vocal minority. They do not represent the majority, but the majority doesn't make a habit of vocalizing acceptance, and so the minority's voice is louder.

I have been sitting here for a bit wracking my brain with how to properly respond to any of this without getting angry. Quill Loneheart and I met thanks to this thread! I was attracted to his character immediately and added him on discord. Conversations took place, we met up in game on alts, and he promptly decided to transfer to be with me :D. We're starting our EB questline tonight.

Just be proactive is the best recommendation I can give. Like someone else said earlier, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Be assertive and go after what you want. No one's going to give you anything. You have to take it!

Willing to transfer? I don't have any obligations on Lamia. That being said I won't just go off and transfer on a whim. I'd have to get to know the other person a bit first and establish if they we are both truly willing to commit to whatever it is we end up getting into so as to not waste money on my end.
