Therefore due to this, I believe it is a loss. I could go buy relic weapon now and be OK and have it, in 2.0 if it never goes to 3m, but instead goes to 4.5m then I am happy I got it cheap, because 4.5 would be 45m and thus I have saved.
I am solely, basing my argument on the prediction that I do not believe items will reduce to 1/10th and that the adverse affect is the feeling of loosing gil because of what I once could afford, I can no longer.
If you, and others do not feel this way, thats great, its fine, thats how you feel. But I am sorry I don't agree with that.
I am happy about the process, I am very glad they are doing this, but I wont be made to believe I am just as wealthy now as I will be in 2.0 until I see prices also reduce down like I was.
If SE is taking away my hard work...

Player-set prices will be decided by the market. Overpriced items compared to what people have will stay unsold, and prices will naturally adjust accordingly. Prices are always decided by the market through offer and demand. Reducing the cash people have influences the demand radically, and as such, by a basic principle of economy, will also influence prices.

Since everyone is having their gil reduced, average joe #42 isn't going to be able to buy materials/weapon/gear at the same price we have now. If this % of increase happens across every item, in 1 night to x time, you've lost a certain amount. because not all prices reduced to the amount you was reduced by.
Thus what has happened, because of this situation, all items across the board have increased in value by X% but you have had a flat-rate reduction, over night. This is not possible now, you will not see all items in 2.0 suddenly go up by 50-100-150%, there is however a chance for that to happen after the transfer.
