This "feature" has been around for over a year now (I can't remember which patch added it, but I think it was 2.3). If you can't check your job or gear before queueing, well, tough. Its all on you for screwing up.

I'd have either turned Nocturnal into Phalanx from XI, or essentially made it function like Wildfire, but for healing. Both would benefit from Time Dilation the same way Diurnal does, something like Wildfire might be a bit risky though, you'd essentially heal someone then ignore them because you know they'll get a dump of HP when it wears off... Something like Phalanx might be ideal, I can see that being quite nice for trash pulls... Wildfire probably makes for a more unique healing experience though, would be fun to time it so it wears off right after a tank buster... Phalanx is kind of like a shield, just one that doesn't entirely mitigate damage and doesn't wear off after a damage threshold, which is why it would work well with Time Dilation and trash pulls... It's more like Protect really, I can see that being great for trash since it would add up quickly against large groups of enemies...
Well actually, having a job which have for concept to copy both whm and sch skills sucks. They will hardly manage to balance it without Killing the two other's gameplay. Personally, i dont want to see the ast with the same dps/shield potency as the sch has. This would give no point in playin it anymore. Instead, they better give a unique gameplay to the Ast( next to the cards)
Except AST already has two advantages, raid wide DPS increase at no or lesser MP cost (if they dps as well as cards) and a choice between a full heal and a shield at less MP cost with no cool downs needed. I think, with the way off healers interact sch and ast shielding are about the same, with ast having better sustained AoE healing (although not much needs more than succor, et succor, succor, indom) but obviously scholar destroys ast while healing in cleric stance.
I think we should start seeing Acc focused WHM, who become the off heals in an ast whm comp or more frequently baton passing the cleric stance role.
Crit Adlos are double strength shields and can be deployed to the group, ie: 6k crit -> 12K shield. Take into effect all possible buffs and you get 9k -> 18K shields. Not to mention a Noct Ast runs out of mp MUCH faster than a SCH. Plus SCH has an instant Aoe heal. People always take SCH for granted...
