Ugh no cross-world party system please.
I'll sign this as well. I hate not being to /sea all..... in the game
I'm assuming this means one of two things.
1) You can invite from anywhere in the world
2) Cross-World meaning Cross-Server Parties?
Either system; more than likely the first, given I don't think the second is possible, could resolve the need to stand around doing nothing waiting for a party. Go off do your own thing with your flag up, get an invite; make your way via Teleport, Airship etc. I don't see what issue could be present for you to shoot it down.
Cross-reply for a cross post. :)
1.) The current system isn't bad, but I think that before you jump into enhancing the system, time is taken to discuss why players aren't using the current system as much as one would expect given how well it works when players actually utilize it.
2.) Let me be the second to say that this is something as a player that I DO NOT WANT having experienced it in other games. I don't want to reiterate all the reasons that these systems are horrid in terms of what they do to a server community; there are already one or two threads dedicated to the subject.

I can see just Pting with random people for instances could be an issue because, then there is no pre-interaction and such. However; for EXP parties and such, I fail to see the issue. As long as they don't incorporate an auto-teleport to location function, as then it can't be abused for a differential teleporting system. However; if it was Region Specific i.e. Whole of Thanalan, Whole of La Noscae. Would you people be less inclined to voice against it?
I thought you could already invite accross the world? I mean all you have to do is type:
/pcmd add Player Name
correct me if im wrong..... so chances are they really do mean a cross server party system. Which would make sense since adding a feature like that is a lot more difficult than making it so you can invite someone from anywhere. Especially since we can already do that.
Cross world means, from Selbina to Palamecia, or Trabia, so yes, cross "server" for those of us who think of them as servers (this is me too ^^) This is causing lots of confusion amongst people.
FFXIV is spread out across different worlds, as people already know. I'm on Selbina, some are from Lindblum, etc. But while you are on a world, using selbina for example, that world is separated into different "physical servers". so guildleve timer, market wards, instances, these are all on different servers. YOUR "WORLD" isn't all on one server. (not replying to poster really but to people in general who are confused). If people don't know what a server is, like the actual physical object, you should look it up, that shouldn't have to be clarified in this day and age.
