I think that's the tripwire. See if anyone else suspended was doing this.
Agreed.
Your probably right.
Thanks :)
Could well be, but my wife and friends in game who have helped me transfer items to my alt are not suspended (rightfully so). I even paid them for their time helping me to do so. (In gil or crafted items)
If that was the trigger this needs to be addressed ASAP, I'm sure I can't be the only person with an alt on the same account for storage/market sales.
MMmm I've been suspended and also have a alt, I used a FC friend to transfer money to it.
I haven't used it for sales yet(<L20), but I have used it to store a lot of raw resources that I will think increase in value over time.
This lack of information on top of the suspension is downright rude. Customer service has a lot to answer for.
I cant believe today i got e-mail from SE, telling they suspended my account because of RMT, i only have 89k before i log out and at most 200k on my retainer after selling my materia and HQ material :. Sigh now need to go to the live chat to to get more inquire.
I just finishing talking to live chat to get more information. They just said they can't do anything and we need to wait for a follow-up email after the investigation is complete. I was told that it was only a temporary suspension though.. Let's just hope we all aren't waiting for 3+ weeks for the investigation to finish.
Those getting a temporary suspension: does your notice from SE state your service account has been terminated or just suspended? I just received a termination letter from SE after having my account hacked into over the weekend. I am a casual gamer, logging a few hours after work each day, with a lvl 45 as my highest character fully equipped with white quest gear with less than 150k gil to my name. If I was involved in RTM, I sure have nothing to show for it. Just curious if you got a suspension or termination letter.
So far this is what I've received:
"Notice of Account Suspension due to Breach of the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement"
Wow.. just wow....
I created a new service on my same account with plans for global domination with my main account being able to mail to directly to my alt account instead of this 3rd party trade crap to alts. Levelled the character to 16 logged out, and now this account has been suspended.
What the hell is going on. This is utter bullshit. I was angry before, now I'm furious.
well,....
i guess this is one time in my life I'm glad i'm cash poor... in both the game and life.
LOL
I also feel we deserve some kind of official response to this. This ISN'T and isolated incident. Is this how we're going to be treated as paying subscribers to your game? We've already paid for the game itself, and innocent people are being suspended before the actual subscription period even starts?!? Not a good sign for how we'll be treated in the future.
It's been over 72 hours and still no Official Word...
Could simply be heresay, but apparently they haven't even begun to investigate accounts yet (as I had suggested in another thread). Apparently our accounts won't even be released for approx another week.
http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...t_suspensions/
It just keeps getting worse and worse, and I know I'm not the only one who's writing this game, and company off forever...
oh no i traded 1k gil to my friend yesterday cause hes new and i wanted to give him a boost so he could start leveling carfters...AHHH!
maybe SE froze the high roller players so RMT could not make gil of them since the high rollers would be their gil fountain, makes sense... not the right thing to do tho. cause its not the players fault they earn the gil they can spend it anyway they want....
1m bat fang??? fuck why not i will screen shot it and whenever i say i got a million gil Bat fang, i was worn by dracula himself.. boom screen shot to prove it lol
Because they can, and because YOU buying another copy of the game gets them more money than you paying a subscription fee so they like to random ban people.
Ha, I bought another copy of the game and attached it to my main service account. The plan was to level it to 20 so I could get retainers and mail items from my main account when unsuspended to sell on the market place, since you cant mail to any alts on your own account and would have to use a 3rd party to trade items to list. What's with that anyway?
Well guess what..... I got to level 16 on that account and they bloody well suspended that account as well. This is utter crap and the lack of response from SE is disgusting and down right rude. I thought Japanese were amongst the most honourable people in the world. Well Yoshi - your teams made a mess of this one and its being well and truly noticed. Is this the type of exposure you wanted?
The community might be a little more forgiving(even the ones suspended) if you actually managed to remove the RMT's. On my way to levelling my second account I ran across Power levellers, Gil spammers and over 20 teleporting stealthed Lalafell mining bots.
Your Special Task Force needs a bonus for how effective they've changed the game environment.
I certainly wont be buying another copy and if this issue is not resolved very shortly, they will be losing the subs of both myself and my wife (who's account is still active).
I would check your email when I was suspended from the forum not from the game... I received a email from the dev's that stated the same thing and then what I did wrong and how long I was suspended for... Not saying it is gonna be the same for ingame suspensions but I am sure that they would handle them the same... They don't have bots freezing accounts they have people and they should be emailing you with the reason why you were suspended...
The reason claims that I was involved in RMT or botting, yet I have done neither. (I'm not expecting everyone on here to believe me, but would like a GM to take a look at my account)
No time scale was given.
Any official word on this would be nice...
If you've been keeping track with the prices of gil for the last week, you'll see that the price has skyrocketed. (1m gil @ $10 -> 1m gil @ $50) The only way this would've happened if there was some mass RMT bans. Unfortunately, a lot of innocent people got hit by this which is rather upsetting.
Sacrificing legit players gameplay to ban RMT's is NOT an option.
And the fact that Gil spammers and teleporting stealthed Lalafell mining bots are still rampart in the game shows how ineffective there ban was. Removing gil from the RMT's isn't a huge issue as they have endless bots making more, an infinite source. Square Enix should be looking at fixing the acquiring of such Gil in the first place. The fact that these bots have been reported from there inception and they are still playing is disgusting. And how the hell they didn't have spam filters in place on release and the currently implemented ones ineffective is downright incompetent.
I'm more concerned if I get suspended with no reason for a whole week each month. I'll switch to another game pretty fast if they do this each month and I bet a lot of other players will too which is sad because I really wanted this game to succeed. Actually this week I don't mind much cause I have a crap ton of things to do in rl but they still freeze my account for a week which is aprox 3.75$ (not a big deal but if it's each month, i'll just go spend my money elsewhere)
The only impact this seems to have had on the RMT'ers, is it has allowed them to considerably up their prices...
So it seems only the legit players are actually losing out.
What's sad is, within the next few days there'll be an announcement on the main page. They'll puff up their chests and pat eachother on the backs and say how they banned 4000 accounts and removed 80 bagillion gil from the RMT market.
And all the RMT will do is charge more, make the same profit, and continue on as usual.
I don't know how this is 'OK' for Square to do this to their customers. Their support is lazy, disables account without proper causes, and doesn't inform the victims as to why they were disabled. I smell a class action law suit coming soon.
Got some more news for those suspended!!!! If you had your subscription set up like I did, your about to be charged for it:

The real question is, did your crafts BUY MATS off the market? The Webbing Ban (net ban, carpet bans, etc) seems to stim from banning those "helping botters get gil"
Example: Botter farms up 30K lightning shards. Player1 who is Level 50 in 3 "attack classes" decides to take up Weaving, needing A TON of lightning shards, being "rich" Player1 buys Lightning shards from Botter, unknowingly, thus giving the bot Gil - to sell for real money in their giant scheme.
Unknowingly to Player1 - who just wanted to work his craft up in the first place - and then BAM - banned, because the system detected you as getting Gil to Gil Sellers.
Least that's the way things SEEM to be going.. might be completely coincidental though. Iam a crafter (all crafts, all harvests) and I have yet to be suspended. I deal in high volume of everything, but never buy goods from "obviously untrusted sources"
Granted I have less then 500K - but still, makes you wonder.
I'll.. make sure to shed some gil before I approach anything above 750k.
They already announced anyone with 8MIL GIL or higher would be banned for 72 hours until proven otherwise that they are NOT a Gil seller.
It was announced 2 weeks ago and at PAX
I've never seen this announcement, could you provide a link please?
