Anyone else enjoy reading about the progress of this game more than actually playing?

I enjoy playing it as much as I enjoy keeping up with what is in the future. Only wish that the future didn't take so long to get here *grins* In all seriousness though, I still log in, day in, day out and do what I want to do. I've completed (since launch) 5 total sets of 8 Leves in a cooldown so as you can tell, I'm not particularly bothered. I just wander, chat, kill some stuff...basically whatever.

In fact that is what I enjoy most at the moment (and hope continues being a part of the game) - I don't feel like if I stop trying to progress that I suffer somewhat, as everything I do feels very much like my choice, and has been since I began creation of my character - compare that to things such as DCUO and WoW (as much as I enjoy both!) and I spend little to no time on my WoW character, I log in...think I might do a dungeon...think nah, its boring, and log out.

Where as I'm having fun everyday in FFXIV. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I am definitely looking forward to the stuff that is coming in the future!

*Edit* I do wish the forums were not so depressing however...I understand people are upset but it goes too far - that and the constant reposts by folk who don't seem to have read anything from the Producers Letters etc since the game launched.

I definitely am on the forums 100x more than in the game. I would enjoy reading about progress if there was some.

I remember the first weeks when SE posted weekly about their plan and upcoming features. Now most of them are unfulfilled and they don't say anything substantial anymore.

I play the game all day, but I'm also on the forums while playing because everything is so easy/boring that I'd be completely bored out of my mind if I wasn't multitasking something on my 2n'd monitor while playing this game.

Leveling to 50 on archer consisted 99% of tabbed out of the game spamming X on my controller while typing replies or reading posts. <3 being able to play with a controller without even being tabbed in.

But obviously the way to fix FF14 is to turn it into every other MMO after 2004, duh!

after being involved with XIV forums I'm worried about the game because of the lack of community. it's seems like the clicks and elitism from XI carried over.

And now that the majority (or at least the loudest minority) have their way, what real progress does SE have to show for it:

A) Expansive and interesting stories,
B) Intricate and challenging objectives,
C) A revamped, less cumbersome and fundamentally overhauled combat/armory system,
D) Any indication of when we might reasonably expect to see even the first of these, or
E) None of the above, just a bunch of superficial crap to appease the loudest whiners while the population has plummeted from >500k to ~30k?

The vast majority of people are idiots who have trouble tying their shoes and only recently mastered wiping their nose, and now that they have the crap they wanted they are still screaming for more crap. (INFINITE STORAGE, REALLY?)

The vast majority of players don't care what goes on in these forums, don't post here and couldn't be bothered to read them. They are hoping that SE will get their act together and put together the next thrilling installment in the FF series, and getting most of the fundamental preparation taken care of in the mean time.

The vast majority of the discussion that takes place here is either unfounded speculation or juvenile personal attacks. I read them because they are funny. Sad, but funny.

I enjoy reading about the forthcoming changes as well, but because there is usually quite some time between such posts, I have to settle for some mindless trolly-trolling.

Really don't post often here but thought be nice for this one lol. I Mostly come and see where thing are at with this game barely play the game got like a lvl 20 and stopped. From what i've read it seems things are about to change alot so thats good to hear. Alot of people saying there making the game to all the other mmo's im curious what beyond the traditional Instances, dungeons,quest hub's,a combination of those included. What fundamental change to those would make for a ground breaking difference to the any traditional mmo. What i'd like to hear is new idea's that differ from those if that's even possible. Yeah I hit 9th post ^^
