Hello, my name is Tommara and I’m an Evercrack addict.
While under the influence of Evercrack, I have camped a tree stump for days waiting for a quest object to spawn. I have been the listkeeper, which was to keep track of people wishing to join our camping spot. The waiting time for dps was over 8 hours. I know this because I was there when they signed up and I was still there when it was finally their turn. I have stayed up until 4 am on a work night helping friends with CR. I have camped dungeons for weeks while everyone in my guild got everything they wanted from it. On Y2K, I agreed to stay up all night at the government agency I worked for, provided I was allowed to play Evercrack. They agreed, no doubt concluding that not only would it keep me awake, I would know instantly if we loss communications or power. And because no one else was too enthused about spending New Year’s at work.
Flash forward 13 years – I am now married to one of my EQ friends who stood vigil with me that night. We have 4 gaming computers connected to a LAN, although there are only the two of us, and I play computer games well over 40 hours a week while working full time. But I am no longer hooked and have taken a vow to never, ever get as carried away as I did with Evercrack.
So I am now a casual gamer.
