I'm still waiting to see all the brag videos from the "gear matters not" crowd for defeating Titan in their sub-50 gear.
it's supposed to be hard... thus HARD MODE...
Easymode rushes an MMORPG, then complains when there is a challenge he can not overcome... my god.
If you beat it you'd be like "Oh titan HM? SAH EAZZZZY. 2222222 EAZZZZY"
Get in a decent FC/LS that know what they're doing or the willingness to learn that you seem so desperate for.
Judging by the fact you posted this status complaining about an ENDGAME challenge in an MMORPG (that gives you THE BEST WEAPON AVAILABLE) you can't seem to beat, I think the harder challenge, even harder then Titan HM, will be for you to find a FC/LS/Group of people that will put up with you long enough to get it done.
the percentages are made up but there are simply tons more just plain bad players than their are able to learn people.
And there is nothing you can do about it since the bad players will take even friendly advice as a personal attack
but the reason it's a big deal in this game is the systems put in place almost encourage you to just do everything solo so you never really forge bonds and communal relationships like MMO's used to. There used to be group content at all levels and making a group and traveling to the location and actually doing it were all up to the players instead of automated and communal bonds get formed and the bads sort of just get weeded out since they don't seem to have that part of their mind functioning properly and they just go along on their merry way in ignorant bliss
So unless you came into the game with an established group it's more difficult than ever before to make a new one
I'm sorry, but easymode? I didn't rush to 50 I got to 50 via quests.. I never said I wanted it to be easy, did you even read what I had to say? Now I have never once said something was easy once I did it, in fact people have asked me if Garuda was hard and I said yes. Because she has a very steep learning curve, I'm sorry, but why should I leave my current FC which is full of nice people just to join one full of people like yourself who think they know it all, I'm pretty much a casual gamer, I play for fun not the best items, I like to complete my goals that I have set.
Put up with me? I don't understand how I'm that bad I don't quit after one wipe, I don't abuse people for dying and I don't come on the forums and try scrutinize others just trying to have fun. I'm sorry if you're like that, and it seems like you are. Instead of crying at my post how about you be nice and give advice like someone a few pages back; I never knew that if you stacked plumes stacked. Because that picture that keeps getting posted in my face doesn't help much, I already have the full rotation.
You have a very bad attitude because I don't play as much as you..
Out of curiosity, how hard is he for Tanks? ...Do you even really need to move around every 4 seconds? I admit I'm a healer, I'm usually focused more on what I'm dodging and what the tank's HP is at rather than what the tank is actually doing.
I imagine Garuda is the much more difficult fight for tanks.
Windge Windge, get better at playing as a team and use better tactics because thats what it takes to win FF end game content.
As far as I'm concerned this game is easy as but then again I don't have to play with noobs coz I have my own ultimate team of super bad-ass players.
Honestly the best thing you can do from my experience is know when it's coming and start moving.
It's incredibly difficult to get out of a plume once it's already popped. Not saying it's impossible, I've done it plenty of times.
But don't expect to get away without being hit every single time.
Titan normally gets about two attacks in before he uses his next ability. You'll have to find out how many times you can cast betewen them. I'm gonna say just throw one spell out and then an instant cast so you're ready!
If you're healing, don't sweat it. Plumes never hit the person with enmity (unless somebody stands near them) and stops Titan attacking.
Garuda uses mobile oneshot mechanics where positioning is key at every step even slipstream. Titan would be more like a scramble of that idea because its constantly under pressure with no break points (like being between a rock and a hard place). They were kind with his design though because if his move list was random or forced skips he would be destroying alot more parties. All the primals even ifrit force you to strive for perfection just in different ways. I haven't tanked Titan yet but the fact that he can get lucky and critical on a mountain buster and drop you if you aren't literally at full hp is much more of a hit to a tanks pride then positioning effects that one shot you. Still don't know if mountain buster can be divided if two tanks are standing in front of it but premade with the single tank if you wipe its over which is alot of pressure.
Easy fix! Take Titan away from the duty finder. This will force ppl to form their own group. Fights like this should not be on DF. Chimera and Hydra are not on DF, why put the most difficult fight on DF is something I don't understand. I can see using it for practice, but other than that, there's no use for it to be in there.
Not too bad. The aim is to reduce the need for healing as much as possible so that the healers can keep their focus on the party instead.
Between Titan and Garuda I think Garuda is harder but Titan isn't straight forward.
It's a hidden difficulty. If you were causing mages to run dry there's no way for the party to recognise that.
Garuda however only has difficulty in knowing where to stand. Once you've learnt that it's like clockwork! Just hope your secondary tank doesn't mess up.
I spent most of my time in Titan cycling three macros.
#1 To alert the party plumes were coming.
#2 To get a healer to Esuna or Leeches a party member after having been cased in stone to remove the horrible Determination down effect (Good luck in the Heart without this).
#3 To gather together at the start of the final phase cycle so that Stomps can be healed through and plumes will stack instead of spread.
It should be noted that if anyone in the group has latency issues, this strategy probably isn't the best as failure to escape will ensure you die. Having something like ranged lining up from Titan to the back of the platform with the melee fanned around him lowers the chance for someone with bad latency to get hit by more than 1 plume/weight of the land.
Titan is angry that you're done.... because he isn't done with you!

I took a group of brand new FC members in over the weekend and downed it within thirty minutes. The general consensus was the fight was very fun, and I myself find it very fun. Perhaps you should approach the fight differently?
Yoshi-P said himself when you start reaching this level of content, he wanted it to be obvious that you should start finding/building a community to do these things with rather than rely on the duty finder. Maybe give it a try?
Playing on a JP Server, I've just beaten this fight twice this weekend. It isn't easy by any means, but learn to anticipate, learn to move ahead of time and learn to make your own parties because DF setup has a very low chance of winning because:
1: You'll get the "HEY GUYS I'M HERE WITH LEVEL 30 RINGS READY TO ROCK WITH 2K HP LOLZ" guy(s).
2: Chance of getting 2 PLDs (It can be done with 2 PLDs but very rare)
3: You'll get someone trying to practice the fight.
Now excuse me while I go heal my nerves from todays battle.
OP exemplifies everything that is wrong with MMO gaming today. Entitled casuals spilling over from WoW.
If you can't do Titan, what makes you think you *need* a Relic weapon? Let alone deserve one?
Complain all you want, you're going to keep banging your head up against Titan's be-hind until you reach this goal of yours. That's what an MMO is all about, not "soothing" you.
what bothers me is the lag, those things on the ground hit me even when I am 15 steps away from them.
Ive actually been joining titan groups in mor dohna saying they have experience and they have the gear also that they know the whole fight. Yet every time I go into these runs I see 2-3 people getting hit by stuff they said they knew how to dodge. Even if the leader boots them it the same thing with the new people they bring in, that or the people before start getting hit. People lying about knowing the fight and having experience is a problem I'm encountering with formed groups. Ive actually had formed groups with people in darklight do worse than a DF party.
The AoE hitting you when you are clearly well out of the zone on your client is an accepted bug that hopefully SE can fix.
I haven't even tried Titan since the story mode but I'm not looking forward to it until they do.
Ever since I got my Relic all I've been doing is running CM and AK with friends to help them finish their DL, and occasionally level my GSM.
duty finder is not ready for titan fight not yet!
But there should be plenty of people shouting for the fight everyday. What bothering me is people take the gear to seriously.
AK gear drops it's easy to optain and works fine for the fight.
People just need to avoid stuff and the fight will be so much fun for all :)
Yes bugs should be fixed, but in the mean time perhaps you should learn to adjust to it?
I can go into titan confident that I won't get hit by any of the avoidable damage. To act like its impossible is just silly. Obviously, it's not, or no one would down him, and groups selling it wouldn't be able to do so consistently.

Welcome to the future! :D
What I like about this thread is the people who keep pretending like Duty Finder is a bad thing. So the mechanic Square-Enix put into the game for accomplishing things is a bad thing? Then people get passive aggressive and say are you incapable of making friends on your server in these threads which I ask. Is something wrong with you? Are you only able to be tolerated by perhaps 8 people in which you formed a tight bond with? Are you anti-social, unable to deal with the larger population of the world where there is only 8 people you can game with on a MMO? Do you feel this game was not meant to be a MMO but a multi player game on the scale of a LAN party game?
I have a great Free company, I been a party of a number of good linkshells, I still enjoy Duty Finder and and pick up groups. I like meeting new people, and personally for me I take this as a light hearted game.
the thing I hate about Titan is no one can dodge anything. I myself get hit by a plume but ever so often. I know when I'm about to get hit. But as long as you're moving and when plumes spawn you should be able to avoid it. You just need someone to call out or know the rotation.
I'm almost fully geared DL just missing pants and a ring since I have some myth accessories. I can plus 1 relic later.
I honest to god know the fight and heal with just 2 people not 3 heals.
Just dps always gets hit by a landslide which is in my opinion the easiest thing to dodge.
So when I'm on Thursday I hope after a couple AK runs for myth i'll do Titan again hopefully I'll succeed.
Why even use DF for titan? Lol by 50 u should be in a FC with people who you have played with or have made friends you can cout on. Why continue to pug it if you have already realized pugn this fight does not work? Lol they even said in an interiew before that th design is to have a group or friends or an FC to accomplish end game content. Try it.
As I once said in the past, the problem isn't just the community, the problem is that the mechanics in the game don't cause the community to be fully mature in the game by the time they are max level. There should be concrete mechanics in which if you don't know what you are doing or how to gear yourself you shouldn't even be capable of finishing the storyline much less enter the end game arena..
I did this fight for the first time last night, and I couldn't imagine trying this in a DF group. This fight is probably the first real gear check I've encountered. DPS was not an issue for my group, but we had one member that had less than 3k health (a healer no less) and I think that was one of the biggest detriments to our success.
Apart from that, like most of the fights in the game it is heavily scripted and it's just a matter of knowing when to do what. For the plume ability you almost have to anticipate when it's coming and move when you "feel" it's going to hit as there's hardly any room for error to get out of it in time.
I was a bit hesitant in wanting to get full DL, but just to have that extra bit of HP for that fight is so important.
Trying to complete Titan Hard through the duty finder is equivalent to punching yourself in the face repeatedly, I don't know why anyone would want to do it.
Join an FC where you can get to know a group of like-minded people that can learn and complete the fight together with you. That's how I got my Titan kill.
I got the hang of Titan after about 3 tries. It's really not that hard. The one thing though that needs to be fixed is that .3 second server delay stuff.
Well, I think if encounter is in DF, then you should be able to complete it with random people. Beside, Titan is not an endgame content, because I can't see there Bahamut coil.
Titan isn't that hard on an individual level, but is hard on a group level. It's the first fight where you are truly screwed if a single player fails to do his role and / or evade things. Excluding groups already on farm mode that can keep going with just 5~6 players, if someone (anyone, except maybe the extra tank DF throws on you) dies and Titan has 10%+ life, it's almost surely a wipe.
For me, this is the "frustrating" part of it, specially since at this point I evade 99% of what he throws at me, but still can't beat him.
Actually I'm in the 10%, I can play a job if I'm forced into doing it. For instance I haven't played SCH but I've unlocked it, So I'm currently avoiding doing anything important on it till I can learn a good control set up and so forth. I'm still in AF armor and I.lv 55 junk as well for my gear. so when my Linkshell asks for people for Titan, I decline until i can actually help them. so you come off the soapbox for a second and try to understand I'm not trying to attack any one person, But in general my stats are most of the MMO community. Theres the bad who will be bad, the good who will be good, and the middle player who can and will learn their job if forced into situations more often, the ones who are willing to learn but need to be taught more so than others.
But regardless, theres a difference between being able to gear yourself up and plain being stupid and ignoring any kind of advice. If you read my post, I mean really read it, which you didn't, don't lie to me, because at the very bottom, the last point in the post I did try to post a possible solution to the problem. Make Dungeons more appealing. These are the places you learn how to play your job the most throughout the game. places like Qarn teach positioning very well and are quite difficult, but most people overlook them.
So yes, Most people who play any MMO are by most standards pretty bad. Rather it be the Elitist Type of bad, or the just plain "Don't care to try/understand their jobs" bad, or so forth, a lot of players are bad, not all, but I'd say most, and a good portion not to their own fault. I'm bad at SCH and i admit it. But do I condemn these bads? No, I try not to prejudge anyone either. If I'm in a dungeon with someone who's playing poorly, I offer advice, in a friendly manner... Its just most of the time I'm met with responses similar to use. Over defensive, high horse, insulting, calling of elitism, etc.
I haven't actually gone off or harassed someone for being less geared since my early FFXI days, its pointless... Everyone was gimp at one point. So far the worst thing I've done is left a dungeon because the WHM was simply not capable of healing the party and we wiped to the same boss 4 times. I never them they were bad, I did mention Medica would be a better solution than Cure II when multiple people are dying... But I try to avoid snapping.
But one point without fail cannot be argued, In order to improve yourself in anyway, you have to want to do so, and most folk don't want too in an MMO, rather it be because they have real life things and use FFXIV to relax and talk to friends, or other reasons. I may not like it when it effects me, But I'll not condemn them for it.
nor should you condemn me for my opinion of the situation, and possible you have seen for yourself that in this situation, you are acting far more "elitist" and worthy of the term "Circkle jerk" than I.
Somehow this topic reminds me on FFXI. The last days I spent in FFXI leveling got too easy and noone cared about proper gear anymore. In the old days this wasn't possible, Chains of Promethia missions were not easy and you were forced to get yourself proper equipment. But even that got eliminated in FFXI. I see the same trend in FFXIV. People who have inproper gear for their level are those people who would give up in the game if leveling wasn't that easy. So you wouldn't see them alot in endgame. The way to maximum level is like a filter if the way is challenging. FFXI totally lost it's charm for me when everything ended up with "we made that easy for you". But nevertheless I think the duty finder wasn't intended for endgame content. It's still a MMO, so I think finding a linkshell and doing things together is your best bet. Difficult Missions in FFXI were also difficult with random people. FATEs are no problem, random people for difficult content is a problem.
9 out of 10 people that fail on titan are on ps3.
