What does it hurt you, or anyone else if my AF is pink, blue or gold? Do you have less fun knowing that others are having their own fun? If you like the default colours like i'm sure some would, wear those colours; But don't try to tell us that we shouldn't be able to wear our own colours when the game boasts a dye system.

It's just stupid to give us a dye system that can only dye crafted items (for the most part), and the designs on the dye-able gear are no where near the level that the AF or similar items have.

It would be nice to be able to dye 'blue' gear too, like Darklight and AFv2. It's sort of weird that for a few weeks, EVERYONE was running around in the same equipment (DL). Now the only difference between the people running coil is Allagan gear or AFv2... so all classes have two 'real' options for gear if they get iLevel 90 stuff.

Im not against differentiation, but I rather use vanity slot than dyeing U/U gear
You might think that you and other player are different entity so that you might need different form of attire, but to the game it self, you are all the same, 'Adventurer', thus an U/U gear was meant for a single entity, not many different one

I also pray they add the appearance option or something like the "transmogrify" in WoW that allowed you to replace the model of one item for another at a cost.

But whatever they do should "enhance" the economy so my ultimate vote is to allow an appearance tab (like how Vanguard had), certain pieces would be worth money just for the look of the item. ;)

Most have that puke brown as a secondary color...which matches very little :(

Would love to see this option, plus I agree with Misty Mew. Have the ability to die other sections besides main section would be really nice. Royal purple and puke brown do kinda' clash, ya' know.

There are some Tank equipment that look distinctly PLD in appearance, nvm the fact that both the PLD and WAR are supposed to use it. As standard one set is very white in appearance and could use a simple tweak like a color change to help make them more appropriate for WARs.

The only gear that should be dye-restricted is the Grand Company stuff you get with seals, as that is their company 'uniform'. Everything else should be dyeable.

I might go as far as dye-restrricting the classs gear you get at lvls 45 & 50.

This one has to be introduce. This game tries to funnel your vision too much. Unique items should be customizable. Why not? I can't think of any good reason. Some unique items just don't match well together. You look like a bored clown.

There is an MMO that gives you the option of dyeing three different areas of your armor, to include fashion item; highlight, primary and secondary color areas.

Add my vote!

Second, and a rework to the dye system for metallic armor. I'm not sure if it's just me but when I was leveling PLD my armor looked so "flat" when it was dyed.

Going to add my voice to this too... I like the Guardian Corps Coat but green would fit my char a bit more... dying the half-cloak thing (whatever the real term is for it) would be awesome.

Plus it would be nice if it wasn't level 13 on my 50 bard >.> Can't wait for vanity slots ;_;

Also let use change secondary colors of gear like for example the blue patterns on ilvl55 goldsmithing gear.

I was so excited about having a dye system, but I'm very disappointed in it so far for two reasons:
1) OP's issue with not being able to dye dungeon gear (read 'the gear you use');
2) Inability to change ALL the colors on your armor. I wouldn't even mind so much if the undyed parts were not always beige or brown, both of which look hideous on my gray-skinned duskwight. I am beginning to think it will be impossible for her to ever have a good look.

Please remove restrictions on dye, and allow primary and secondary dyes, or at least make the dye cover the entire armor piece.

A fact which only reinforced my decision to abandon dungeon farming for crafting my own gear and farming fates instead. The stat difference between unique items and hq crafted items is too small to justify the time sink given the relatively low drop rates in dungeons for a specific piece.

Right now vanity is one of the advantages of crafted gear. Altho I have no issue with having whatever you want dyed pink, at the same time I by no means wish to see crafting any further diminished.

So while at first glance I was instanly like"whatever,sure.."..After thought I would have to vote no,unless crafted gear were given something back in return.

Right now, other then for crafting/gathering gear, dyes feel somewhat pointless. At the lower levels, where things can be dyed, you outgrow the gear too fast if you level at a decent pace. It's nice that the crafted higher end gear can be dyed and adds a lot to it. I don't mind if AF isn't allowed to be dyed because of story or what not. But dungeon drops and such should be in the very least. For gathering classes, it is almost easier to npc or dump pigments if you gather them for whatever reason, since there isn't a whole lot of people using dye.

Ok, how about a compromise: give the crafters the ability to dye most, if not all, undyeable gear of their class type. For example allow armorsmiths the ability to dye Dark Light/CT/Coil tank gear for themselves and other players.

Now I'd prefer dyes be open and there just be competitive crafted gear instead of this "impossibly expensive to make second rate gear you can totally dye!" as is now. But the RMTers ruined that for MMOs.
