Hmmm I thought Cyan was more of a Samurai.

The original class list;

There is a Musketeer's Guild in Limsa Lominsa.
As it was one of the originally planned jobs, i'd safely assume there were at least 'some' assets created for it, and it was rather high on the "I want this job" list.
So to say it's on the way wouldn't be too far off I don't think.
Cyan was simply a knight with a katana instead of a cruciform sword. Are you sure you're not thinking of Cecil?Quote:
4. Knight or Dark Knight (Like Cyan)
I want my beast master back, my chocobo just isn't cutting it
I would love to see a rapier based class. Maybe it could be an evasion tank. That may be what the musketeer is though. Unless the musketeer is more of a pirate/corsair like class, meaning it could possibly have access to ranged and melee attacks by having a sword in one hand and a gun in the other.
Red Mage should be an Advanced job (REQ: 50 WHM, 50 BLM and maybe 30 PLD?), since that way it would be able to be the Magic wielding sword user that everyone seems to want. A class that swaps between melee and magic on the fly would certainly be unique compared to what's available currently.
I would also like to see some of the unique FFTA and FFTA2 classes to appear if possible.
Sniper/Gunner
Mog Knight
Parivir
The game currently has 2 tanks, 2 healers, 1 ranged phys DPS, 2 magic DPS, and 2 melee DPS (Correct me if I'm wrong). So to balance things out: +1 Tank (Fencer, Ninja, Samurai, Dark Knight), +1 Healer (Sage, Devout, Elementalist) and +1 ranged phys DPS(Gunner, Sniper).
Summoner -_-
I really want to see Dancer again. On a side note if I see Ninja blink tanks again. I hope they have Musketeer at that point so I can equp a gun and shoot myself!!! /endrant
1.Samurai
2.Blue Mage
3.Gambler
Samurai (katana)
Ninja (ninja blade or giant shuriken)
Thief (boomerang or zidane's weapon)
Gunner (pistol and gun)
Beastmaster (whip)
Ranger (bow)
Dancer (penelo's hybrid staff)
Blue Mage (cane?)
Assassin (katar or ezio's hidden blades)
I would love to see Beast Master an Blue Mage added at some point.
Definitely Blue mage for me. I'd happily roam the lands purposefully getting hit by monster skills for the chance to learn their magics for my own. Its one of the main reasons I stuck around in XI for so long.
Juggler
I remember there being a little Lalafell in Ul'dah that was dressed in Juggler clothes ad juggling bottles or something. I looked for him in ARR bu couldn't find him.
Mime
Like Gogo in FFVI and the awesome Mimes in FFT
Every Job in Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Advanced, and Tactics Advanced 2.
I'd like them to work the same or very similar to their Tactics versions.
And most of all I want Puppetmaster!
I want it to work exactly like it did in FFXI with all the attachments, commands, and fun emotes. Though I'd like it to get an AI customizer thing like FF XII has for the party members. Oh, and both big and small customizable automatons. When I say big I mean the size of the FFT automatons.
I'm crossing my fingers for a Thief class (Or classes) to be implemented. I rolled a Monk in the meantime since I've found that MNK/DRG utilize movement and have the kind of active playstyle I've grown accustomed to with thieves in other MMO's but good lord do I just miss the whole aesthetic of the Thief class :(!
My top 5
1. Ninja (as an evasion tank) ya i said it. Game needs more tank jobs.
2. Samurai
3. Red Mage
4. Thief
5. Ranger/Corsair/musketeer
Musketeer will be in in one of the first major updates. That's the only class I'm waiting for. Hoping that Corsair and Engineer jobs branch from it.
DRK
/10char
Puppetmaster definitely!
Maybe a Claymore weilding class that branches off into Drk and RUN at 30. One is a DD on is a Tank
with the amount of influence of FFVI in this game, They owe it to themselves to add a Magic mitigation focused tank =p
Aside from Samurai, I really want an original class exclusive to FF14. Something new, something innovative.
For one thing I'd not only like to see more jobs, but also more base classes to build them off of. If everything is based off of too few base classes it could get kind of confusing. Maybe never have more than 2-3 jobs based off a class.
1. Red Mage! Please please please need my Red Mage!
2. Corsair/Musketeer, but it sounds like it's already in the works, so yay!
3. Thief! I want treasure hunter for farming and a nice stealthy attack from behind DPS could be pretty epic. Or maybe they could swap it up and make them a duel wielding daggers evasion tank. =D
4. Blue Mage! I really really miss blu!
5. Dancer! I think they could do a really awesome job with the animations here!
6. Dark Knight. I really want to see this happen!
7. Beast Master. It could easily be based off the archer class and be given a pet, or maybe the marauder class as a DPS.
Apart from those specifically, I'd really like to see all the jobs from FFXI make their way over here at some point.
Dark Knight all the way !!!
Calculator/Arithmetician anyone?
Musketeerrrr!!! Please!
Since Limsa Lominsa is short one class compared to the other starting cities i been thinking they should add Thief as a new base class there. Then as advanced jobs they could add in something like a Swashbuckler/Fencer advanced class that wields rapier/cutlass mainhand and offhand flintlock pistols for added kick. I think that would fit in quite well for themed to the city, and even out the classes per city.
Goldsmith 30 / Pugilist 15 = Puppermaster
Alchemist 30 / Conjurer 15 = Chemist
If they add the Shepherd class that was going to be in 1.0
Shepherd 30 / Marauder 15 = Beastmaster {Yes, please}
Shepherd 30 / Summoner 15 = Blue Mage
A Rogue class could combine to provide Thief and Ninja jobs, and possibly Corsair.
Dancer all the way! Wanna shake it big time ^^
And some kinda tech class. mix guns, cannons, bombs, fireworks, etc together.
What i'd like to see coming from our current classes:
Conjurer - Geomancer (Dps job for conjurer)
Thaumaturge - Necromancer
Archer - Ranger (Pure Dps for Archer, with a dps limit break)
Marauder - Dark Knight (Dps job for Marauder)
Lancer - Templar (from FFTactics serie, Tank job for Lancer)
Pugilist - Puppetmaster
Gladiator - Onion Knight (Dps job for Gladiator)
What i'd like to see coming from new classes:
Red Mage and Blue Mage - could come form the same base class
Thief
Samurai and Ninja - could come from a same katana - wielding class
Beastmaster - with permanent tamable beast, gotta tame em' all.
Corsair - coming from the famous Musketeer class?
I think it would great to have more jobs split from the same class where the jobs have different roles. Like the summoner and scholar. Once the game has been out a few months people will be able to play their favorite dps dur dur stuff but the paucity of tanks and healers will be reduced because in a pinch they can say "Alright I guess I can tank this if we need one" or whatever. Some examples (don't flame me if you think the combo is thematically bad, you still get my point) are below:
Ninja (tank) job from pugilist
Dancer (healer) from pugilist
Samurai (tank) from lancer
Berserker (dps) from marauder
Beastmaster (dps) from gladiator
Blue/Green/Time Mage (dps) from conjurer
Mystic Knight from thaumaturge
Dark Knight would be sweet. "Sacrifice his/hers HP to inflict greater damage" :D
This has probably been said before, but I really want Samurai to be released in the future.
A jack of all trades job that could focus with gear and skill sets. Engineer -> Puppetmaster would be nice and ARR loves pet use. I'd settle for THM -> BLU though.
Samurai with great Kanata
dual wield class.
I want to see the following:
Samurai
Ninja
Dark Knight
Red Mage
Im gonna hhave to say SAM and RDM i like katanas and i also like the ability to use a sword and shield and heal and other boost like blaze spikes and enfire stuff like that
I want to use gunblades...
Personally I wanna see an additional 2 base classes perhaps (not sure what). This way the job system can be added to with a lot more flexibility. OR, start using the DoH and DoL classes to go towards jobs.
Seen some great ideas in the thread like:
Miner + Conjurer = Geomancer
Geomancer would be awesome. And gives the Conjurer a good DPS option
Arcanist + Alchemist = Time Mage
Who wouldn't love to see Time Mage become possible
Archer + Alchemist = Ranger
I desperately wanna see Ranger brought in, already a Bard, but would love to see a pure DPS Archer.
There are so many combinations though, it will be interesting to see how the Class/Job system will be expanded while maintaining a good balance.
