just in case anyone still thinks Merlwyb is an elezen, its officialy stated on her description on the german lodestone that being one of the few female roegadyn is one thing that makes her special.

i tried to translate it as directly as possible

^ Ok, so with that we have yet a difference again between the translation on the different region pages. I'm curious about two things now; how similar is the Japanese page translation of Merlwyb and are our English translators skimping out on us when translating Yoshi-P's letters and the lore pages?

If she's one of the few, assuming like the padjal, does that mean that towards the PS3 release they won't be a playable option, instead just more variety in NPC?

That would be a huge cocktease and I'd personally probably stop playing.

I wonder if a new thread was started asking for a more detailed response from Yoshi-P if we'd get the answer. Honestly, I'd be just as pissed. ): I really wanted to play a Female Roeg alt.

they were going to be playable plus why would they wait till ps3 launch to add roegadyn female npc? They do have the models done up, can put npc in at anytime.

I would assume to fit old + new armors to the models, create character animations and CC options. Not saying that'd take forever, but if they're focusing more on the battle system, they might not be a priority.

One reason I can think for not having them already in the game as NPCs is that the models might not be complete. Just like a preview of the airship we got, or the gunblade. They may have been abandoned in favor of UI changes, and what not.

Well, in the dats the models are there (Airship/Gunblade) and Gunblade is indeed put to use in-game currently, it's not for players. Adding this as a playable gender should be probably the dirt floor in terms of priority since there are 100x more important things (Battle system, Jobs, more story etc.)

Instead of female roegadyn, how bout some actual objects to the quests so that they don't feel so separated from the game world? "Airship crashed" = no airship to be seen. "Dodos are eating our crops on the fields" = what fields?

Battle System, Jobs, and More Story are done by teams that do not work on Characters. :P
