Pretty sure, they Split it 30% (Easter content, NMs, nothing else really) into 1.17, they other 70% im pretty sure, is coming in 1.17a, and most likely, 1.17b is going to be fixes fixes fixes.
The only weird thing about this is the lack of usage for the testing in progress forum. They're either a) still setting things up and dealing with problems on that front (communication or whatever), or b) they've given up on that idea. Or c) it'll be used in the future when the test server opens.
It was nice to see the contents of 1.16a a bit beforehand, even if it was a small patch.
Surely they can release some details at this point? The patch is two days away..

I've sent my trusted companion to seek the informations about the patch 1.17a. He'll return the 25th, after he'll have hijacked the Maintenance post writing what he has found, so everyone can know about it.

I remember back in the day, maybe like 2 months ago, they had some kind of notes on a patch before the day it comes out.... I figure they are working diligently on it until the day of its arrival, so they cant really post what is changing since it could change on patch day.
It's really telling that people acknowledge the first patches as the BIG patch and need to call the latter small. To me the patches are so small these lettered ones might as well be called nano-edits. =(
It doesn't even make sense to call them BIG patches. They aren't BIG, for neither players nor the developers. I guess there's just nothing to compare it to yet, not before SE is ready.

One last thing. A portion of the changes in patches 1.17 and 1.17a are preparations for the mid- and high-rank PvE content planned for later release. As soon as we hammer out the basics of the new dungeon and raid environments, we’ll be throwing out some screenshots and introducing them to you.
so that told, don't expect anything great in 1.17a
i agree seems like 1.18 will bring out content.
They're gonna tell us tomorrow. Knowing it today or tomorrow makes absolutely no difference.
Awesome? w/e u are on i'd like some, next patch wont be much of anything, they added nice nm's maybe they will add lot cast that would be too perfect though soooo probably wont happen.
Waiting for 1.18 patch hoping that will be the battle changes and if that is more of the same nonsense i'm signing the divorce papers!
They should add marriage to patch 1.17a. LOL kind of a joke, but down the rode marriage would be nice. Tomorrow we'll all update and find out it was to correct a spelling error in a guildleve yay.

There's some new info on the Japanese boards. From what I gathered using Google translator it looks like they're resizing the HP/MP-bars again. Thrilling, I know lol.

Due to circumstances, 30% of 1.17 had to be held off. So...

I think the most we can expect, in regards to content, is 2-3 more NMs (maybe high level ones) and more sidequests. its possible the additional sidequests will be company related.
I wouldn't expect anything too grand, but the update wont be worthless either.
Maybe the last 30% includes the some R50 NM''s they didn't put in >.> who knows.
There is most likely a few reasons no notes yet
1. Translators dont work weekends.
2. Along with above ^ its Easter + Easter Monday
3. Its just a small update with patches, nothing big. (i dont know this just assuming, p1 had 53 changes, this by % should have 15)
They extended the the maintenance by another hour which makes me wonder did they get some more stuff into 1.17a? There's probably another reason(technical issues?) behind the extension but It just seems odd to extend it for a 30% patch.
I wonder if we will get something like Auto Attack in 1.17a. However, I still have about 3hrs before I know for sure.
Well they didnt change the start time, just the duration, so it is either they have more in or, or just want to give themselves more time to test the changes as they are applied.
Perhaps the delay is related to some NMs glitching.
Auto-attack is def not in 1.17a :P. it will be either 1.18 or 1.19
So as stated in Letter VII - the original Patch 1.17 was broken into two chunks, 1.17(70% of original plan) and 1.17a (remaining 30% of plan).
Quite possible that everything coming in 1.17a is already covered by the broad 1.17 outline that was shared earlier:
