I only experienced one death due to this lag/animation issue (luckily had people smart enough to stay out of harms way and cure when I'd get hit as a tank in the lv 18-20 dungeons)
I have noticed the delay from when I get out of the target area and still getting hit by the mob ability.
Please fix this SE! It is disastrous on later dungeons!

Even though i have no problem to adapt to this delay in PVE I fear it will become big problem once PVP is implemented. I hope they fix it until then.

In beta we complained about this issue it took a while but we got a response!
However the response wasnt great... We were told that beta wasnt syncing like it would when the game went love and while it is better, it does not help.
Unfortunately I live in Australia so I am used to combating some form of latency, however this is really hurting me as a tank, I can't get out of red circles fast enough when I react the split second I see them and more recently in HM Ifrit just standing there and interrupting I would sometimes miss the interrupt even if I hit it at half way through casting...
The issue is the server checks everything we do before it happens and it has a 0.3 second sync time (what we were told in beta)
We need the actions we do to be calculated before air damage/abilities going off to see if we did stun in time! I know this has issues with security if the client takes preference but I would rather a less secure game than one I cannot progress harder content in due to where I live.
I would love a local server but that is t happening, just please do something about how the responsiveness is in game we have given you massive feedback on the subject.
Oh I also forgot I created this gif to show evidence of what the issue looks like. Note I am not lagging and this is the best connection available in Australia.

It is really hard for casters and healers to get out of things because there's a split second pause to cancel the cast and before you know its too late heals have long cast times and in a mobile fight its chaos
I experience this issue as well, and something I have found I can do to help reduce it is not resizing the window the game plays in if use windowed mode, or set it to full screen via the in-game options. Not entirely sure why this helps with reducing the problem, it still is there, but not as bad as it was.

That is exactly what I'm experiencing, I kept going YES! I made it out in time, and off the platform i flew... resulting in a lot of players badmouthing me and leaving, i kinda lost my desire to play the game cause of this. I can't progress and people call me names cause of it. So. Not. Fun... Hope they fix it.
I agree this is an issue we noticed since Beta, and kept reporting it, but I am afraid it is hard coded in the engine and may take a while to completely get rid of it.
Whoever here is a quick tip on how to actually solve the issue that you have with the area of effect latency. As a tank I use this allot and I never got hit since i figured this out. Somehow it is simply better to run out and right back inside the AOE zone than to just hope you made it out. I know it's odd, but it works. Go on give it a try and you'll see. Mostly I use it against Plumes at Ifrit HM, but works on any mob.
I noticed this too but its not only about running back in but about doing any action that is not running out in straight line, like casting spell, doing sharp turn etc. I usualy use my ranged attack as marauder. Its like there is slower postion report time when your character is runing in straight line than when you are doing other stuff.
Exacly the same here - and as shown in the video - runs out and gets knocked off anyway. One time I ran through Titan and still got knocked off. To illustrate:
ME --- Titan -> tank
titan turns around
ME - <-Titan
I run through him
<-Titan --- Me
he executes the skill
<-Titan --------------------------------------- Me
followed by the long drop and splat :(
So I am also effectively stuck and unable to progress unless a fix is made
I completely support this thread,
my friends all already stopped playing thanks to this and the time it takes to get to 50
(which its like 70-80hours, which for a guy that works and plays like 2h a day would take a month and a half to do it)
and i, even tho im 50 already (was on holidays on august) will also stop playing if this unresponsivness isnt fixed since it just gets me frustated all the time (im a healer, and that "healing after what it shows" its incredibly annoying)
I'm also stuck on Titan due to this bug and certainly won't sub while this isn't fixed.
This only gets worse at end game and needs to be fixed before the game can be taken seriously from a raiding point of view.
+1 to OP this bug is really game breaking ...and for healers i know what you mean but dont give up, try to abuse regen so you can keep moving xD
Thank god i was able to defeat Titan yesterday, i spent like 3 hours falling of the ring and cursing, also i get insulted by people and have to make party like 5 times because of people rage quiting, ironically on his last attack i was knocked out of the ring (because of this #$%#$%#$#$ issue)i died and seconds later he died too, so i get to defeat him while dead xD
This is getting even worse as of late. And it's quite annoying tbh.

I move out as soon as it appears. Yet I still dying. Now people in Dzemael Darkhold say I'm bad just cause I die to these straight line or circle things on last boss, even though I'm far away from them long way before boss finishes casting it. Sucks =/
This is probably the biggest issue in game, really gamebreaking, I die a lot even if I start moving exactly when I see the danger zone spawn.
Mostly, because when I'm casting it "takes time" to cancel spell and other time to move out of the zone, basically making me absolutely impossible to avoid some danger zones
I play primarily as monk and this issue plagues me daily. I really hate when a mob does a frontal attack and I move behind the mob for what feels like 1-2 seconds before it "goes off" but I still die, while behind the mob mind you. And this is seen regardless of my latency with the server.
