Have you read the dialogue in the game? They let us say as much as the NPCs do without censoring, no more, no less. Personally I like the fact that the devs treat us like adults and allow 'cursing', or at the least, give us a filter as an option.
Just because a video game company puts stuff like same-sex marriage in their game doesn't mean its a political statement. Its funny, there's a quest by Lost Springs that has a lesbian Miqote (I think its female PC char only dialogue), where's all the "Ermagerhd SE is pushing their filthy agenda on us righteous folks" now?
People like that vote. _-_ Here in the US people voting for politicians solely on their Christianness is a huge problem, a Senator Jason Rapert even recently stated that "it is not the will of the 80,000 constituents that voted for me, but rather the will of God" that he is senator. That is terrifying to me. Anyone remember something about kings being kings because they were 'divinely appointed'? yeah. Anyways /derail sorry.
I'd like to have money on the probability that most people railing about same sex marriage in this game are doing nothing to support movements in real life, so that real people can get married and have real benefits.
Want to make a difference in the world? Do what a lot of us are and take it somewhere that actually matters. That isn't a video game forum, just in case there was any confusion.
SOLA is a Christian Free Company of over 100+ active members! http://solaguild.com :)

Sola is a Christian-based Free Company on Behemoth server.
Website: http://solaguild.com
Sola's mission statement:
"The SOLA was established by a group of online friends to provide an environment where gamers can enjoy any online multi-player game and to develop a community of acceptance and encouragement. SOLA was founded with Judeo-Christian teachings and a Biblical world-view in mind. As such we strive to show respect to everyone including our enemies. Our goal is to be known in the game word as friendly and helpful members of any gaming community. We will do this by holding ourselves to a high standard of respect and maintaining the honor of the SOLA. By doing this we will provide a family friendly environment for gamers and a place to enjoy the game in a community of friendly individuals."
Sola does admit members who are not Christian, though.
The answer is probably not many depending on what criteria you mean to require when you say "Christian Linkshell". In fact, it may even technically viewed as a sin to even play depending on your specific denomination, but would be certainly frowned upon by most. You may want to check with one of the leaders of your religious organisation on that topic if you take your religion seriously. Not trolling either, just pointing that out.Quote:
How Many christian linkshell are on ffxiv realm born
In regards to finding a Christian only linkshell, that may be hard to find, not many people want to mix religion with their gaming, you know what they say about religion and politics. You could always start one though if it's of that much interest to you.
I'm a Christian myself. As to why someone would want to be in a Christian guild , I would break it down like this .
As A Christian , we are , by default, representatives of God. We are told that our words and actions should be in accordance with what we have been taught . We should treat everyone with respect and dignity , even if we disagree with their beliefs or lifestyle . While doing this we must also balance ourselves so that we do not become caught up with others sins. Some people can't balance that. That is why we are also told , as Christians , that COMMUNITY is vital for our well being . We are told that we need to have a community of other Christians that will help us when we are failing at one thing or another ,and will hold us accountable if we behave in an Unchristian manner.
I think the OP just wants a group that will help him maintain his balance.
Can I be in the linkshells for girls too? please.
I'm not christian but I would be glad to join one if it meant getting away from disgusting people like the ones in this thread.
I'm not sure why you need a Christian linkshell in this game....
Also, unless you're 9, I'm not sure why cursing would bother you or anyone, really. They're just words.
If you have to start looking for a sub-community within a community just to keep you "on-track" with regard to your relationship with God, then that's the point in time you have to start asking yourself: Should I even be playing this game to begin with?
The answer is probably 'no', but you've also probably made about a billion justifications why it's OK.
The Bible tells you to flee from the appearance of evil. If you feel there are things that have the possibility to knock you off your pommel-horse-for-God, then you need to leave, that's the bottom line. I don't say that to be mean, I don't say that to be cruel, I say that to be perfectly honest with you based on your criteria for life.
Edit: And I'm not against joining a community that shares one's particular values.. I just question the motives based on this particular poster. If you are so adamant about your lifestyle being so pure, you are probably in the wrong place.
Ahh I see what you did there. Christians, born again Christians playing a game that's wait for it...REBORN! Noice sense of humor that you have. kudos to you sir.
I am a leader of a Christian guild on Cactuar.
Instead of Tank & Spank, is it Pray & Slay?
just stay in your FC house, they'll knock your door and invite you to join their LS.
Holy necro bumb! This thread rightfully died in 2013 guys...
Do we really need another debate on the many times literally cursed topic of religion and/or sexuality?
Go get your new years sheep if you haven't already (today's the last chance!) and be happy rather than all the spite threads like these brings out in even the best of us.
No need for more of this nonsense from 2013.
Not to get caught up in this myself but:
Here in Aussieland it's more often little old ladies with christianity pamflets, and more often in shopping centres ambushing customers than going door to door in suburbs like Witnesses. I think some people find it difficult to tell little old ladies off so they make great agents.
I'm a Unitarian Universalist, so not really a Christian. But really, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, who the hell cares if someone's looking for an LS with like-minded beliefs?
And if someone is hurting others, you focus your attention on the individual inflicting that harm, not the group which they represent. That goes for everyone of every belief system. Don't force your beliefs on other people, don't let your beliefs hurt other people, and don't make like your beliefs are superior to others' beliefs.
Of course, this is the internet, so none of this advice will ever be heeded, but please. Just for the sake of civility and good netiquette, let's at least try.
Seriously though, just reading through this thread alone, some of the posters here are being so very judgmental and generalizing towards Christianity, religion in general, and even LGBT individuals, none of which is cool.
Also, just to clarify, Catholicism is a denomination of Christianity. If you consider yourself Christian without being Catholic, you are, in fact, one of the other denominations, which include Methodism, Protestantism, Lutheranism, Eastern Orthodox, Adventist, Evangelical, Penecostal, Calvinist, Anglican, Assyrian, etc. Just throwing that nugget of wisdom out there. You can be Christian without being Catholic, but to say that Catholicism is different from Christianity is incorrect.
Right, but it's not all about you. Other people have thoughts and opinions as well and might want to express them freely and in a safe, inclusive environment. Finding a FC that clearly defines that mission in their charter is sometimes better than just a "group of people who are decent to play with" that have no clear structure. It's not to say that you are wrong, just that there's reasons that other people make the choices they do even though you might not agree with or understand them.
OP - I don't think they are christian specifically, but there is this really awesome group on Balmung that has a house dedicated to their love of the Admiral. One of the leaders (could even be *the* leader, I don't know) has a transmog that makes him look like the pope and they have some services and stuff on specific days. It's likely inspired by someone's personal interest in religion. Really cool group - I'll have to log in and double check their name. Might be worth looking into.

Depends actually.
Christian? Heretic! The Twelve are the true gods!!!
As of yet I haven't seen/heard of any Christian linkshells.
I have started a new Christian linkshell on Cactaur. My character name is Ol Grandpa. If I am online, feel free to pst me for an invite. This was created to share Christian faith and the Word of God without fear of retribution. Of course, it goes without saying that just general run of the mill chat is more than welcome.
I hope 0 they are such horrible people and things would be better iff with 0 of them.
Recycling your ideas, eh?
Honestly I'm impressed at, and mildly intimidated by, the sheer number of accounts you have. I know there's titanman, brofist, RTX, Militaryvet, whatever the hell the Godbert cosplay was called and HardcoreRaider. 7 subs counting this one. Where do you get the money, man?
