How about you try to read my posts? It's random because that's how they've implemented it so far in previous games, has it occurred to you that perhaps because of our feedback they might consider going another route that would not be so random?

Say no to cross-country running! Who wants to run across multiple countries?!
Seriously. Cross-world might not mean what you think it does. I'm pretty confident it just means you can finally invite from anywhere in the world. I highly doubt SE would even be able to pull off a LFG system that allows you to party up with players on other servers anyway. No offense, SE...
What if a player logs in, and ends up spending two hours looking for a dungeon group. Is that better?
Dungeon queues for DPS in WOW are 1+ hour, so sure why not.
I say no to cross-world grouping!
Cross Realm..LFG finder? please no :(
Cross-server dungeons are a horrible idea. Any positives it may have are far outweighed by the negatives. Do you want to totally kill the communities on every server, producer? I know it makes content easy to approach, but you will play with people you will never see again. Why that is a good idea or should be supported is beyond me. What was special about XI was the server-based communities where you played with a certain playerbase for years, getting to know them in the many years you played the game. It was worthwhile to make friends, because you actually had a chance to meet them after the party was over. All you're doing is making us play with NPC's that act like humans but are irrelevant to me, thus not worth the communication.
I will also be incredibly sad if you are planning to make the content so easy that just about anyone can clear it (because that's what you have to do when you won't make it so I can choose who I invite and the LFG tool does not discriminate anyone).
Simply said, not everything other MMO's do is good for this game and something you should imitate. MANY THINGS ARE, BUT NOT EVERYTHING.
More important than accessibility, is that you promote socialization. This system does the complete opposite.
The major appeal about FINAL FANTASY is that you can experience memorable stories. And MMORPG's allow for completely unique way of experiencing said stories, by playing with other people while competing, fighting, making alliances, even falling in love and getting yourself known in the community. It is a special type of storytelling single player games can not replicate. What you are about to do completely ruins this type of storytelling. I hope you are aware of this, as the game moves along.
If it's not an easy task to implement, don't worry, we understand if you can't do it. Use that time on something else instead.
Point is the mod said devs are thinking of implementing cross-server auto grouping. Sorry for being aggressive but I do agree with you that if its different, like we search for people seeking and talk to them and ask them to join I think it'd be better but auto grouping i'm against.
signed. ........................
cross-world group finder is not the answer SE
way to take stuff to seriously.
Guys, the cross server instance dungeons are for a que system. And does nothing you guys are claiming. Lots of ppl do dungeons with set guild groups. But not everyone enjoys joining guilds or stuff where they have set scheduals and stuff. The cross server que is just to make the wait time less. And is a good idea for it. With out cross server que, wait time can be hours.
You guys should really think before you post. If you enter dungeons in a set group, you don't have to worry.
Talk about making a big deal outa nothing. You just as bad as those guys over @ DCUO.
Already said this.. but what the heck... /repost
"I don't like the idea of cross-server content at all. I don't want to be stuck with non role-players when I don't ever go out of character. I'd prefer to stick with the people of Besaid and be more likely to come across other role-players.
I want to meet people from MY community, not make friends with people I'll never see again. :<
I think cross-server things will only have a negative impact on server community.
I wouldn't participate in any content that involved cross-server interaction. Somehow it would make XIV feel more like a game than a world."
so do stuff with your linkshell. The cross server stuff is for ppl who just want to play w/o linkshell drama there. Sorry but why should ppl feel left out of stuff because of not joining a linkshell who only do these events.
imo i woulda loved cross server que system for stuff like dynamis, sky, sea , missions so I can get them done whenever.
This is detrimental to the community as a whole. In XI, everything you did had consequences. If you decided to ninja-loot, or act like an idiot, you were excluded from the community and rightfully so. This was even more strongly emphasized with the fact there was no server, name, or race transfer service and that everyone played one character instead of having 10 alts with different names. No game should let anyone get away by being an ass without facing any consequences.
I'm not surprised that Kilta doesn't get it. You never seemed to give a crap about anyone except yourself. Of course you'd like this sort of feature.
to add sorry but you guys can still meet other people on other servers and still communicate with them via e-mail facebook THESE FORUMS, the lodestone.
You guys so far have very poor excuses which ARE ruining the communities. Elitism botions ruin more communties the cross server que systems. Sorry but Like I said I don't wait to rely on waiting for others to be interested when I can just join a que and have fun.
This is a game for fun. Not privete club. Yu guys should REALLY think on ywho your effecting by saying no.
Not wanting it because "you don't like it" is a poor reason. You ruin alot of peoples time and fun by doing so. Sorry but the only reason no one wants it, is so they can force ppl into linkshells to beable to do content on set scheduals. Sorry but this is a game, not a job or work. I should have fun and get to do stuff on my own terms, not wait forever because people want to rule a server.
this can happen w/o cross server que... I ran into people who acted like dbags who got off scott free. What you claim will happen no matter what. And cross servers don't encourage it. All it does is allow ppl to play a game on their own terms. We wouldn't need it if ppl play the game as intened instead of with a stick up where sun don't shine. Again these are all excuses to force ppl to play in Linkshells. I join ques in WoW and I didn't act like anything your claiming.
The point is that those who act like this will face consequences for their actions. All this allows is for ppl to play a game on their own terms, and when those terms means shitting on other people because you are a self-entitled idiot, it is detrimental for the community.
I'm sure you made up some melee RDM bs of your own in that game, then simply ignored everyone who disagreed because you are such a special unique snowflake that can do whatever the hell she wants, but this time without facing any consequences for not caring. You are a prime example of the negatives this feature brings to the game.Quote:
I join ques in WoW and I didn't act like anything your claiming.
How about adding some kind of cross-server friends list and black list. That way if you found some people cross server that you like you can add them to your friends list and party it up again or if you found some assholes you can block them and never have to party with them again.
When there are potentially hundreds of thousands of players using said feature, blacklisting an idiot is like a drop in the ocean of piss. The jerk can still find groups as per normal and other new jerks will still join your group until the end of time.
Since this game is becoming Phantasy Star Universe (no way is it PSO standard) with these instanced levels and they're trying their hardest to break the persistent world immersion then at least I'm glad I'll have someone to play with that is if I want to anymore after this change happens.
I'm not against the idea of an automated party as long as there is also the other option... to choose who you invite. So people could have an automated party or build one themselves. Totally against cross-server though. :x
So what, the same shit happens without cross-server grouping. Also I don't care if that terrible player finds other groups, at least I'm not playing with them anymore. Hopefully those other groups will have the sense to block that player too. For ever bad player there's at least 10 good players.
Your faith in humanity is remarkable.
No, the same shit doesn't happen without cross-server grouping because the people who do that shit will gain a bad reputation and no one will invite them anymore.
Ohh, so to you "not giving a crap about what anyone thinks as long as it pleases me" means "growing up". I can see why you act the way you do now.Quote:
two words
grow up.
No it happens ffxi is proof of it. I had a dynanis LS mate try mpking my monk all cuz he hated me for no reason. And nothing was down about it, he also harrassed me in dynamis.
I met tons of "popular" aholes in ffxi. And for the record. A melee rdm is not a bad rdm... get over that. My classes on WoW was shaman and warlock and I played those very well. And rogoe also. And hunter. All of which I played very well. I join que because of my time limit, and the fact my guild was too busy to help me do dungeon quests.
Like i said you guys are causing the bad community not the ppl who want cross server que system or grouping. And why should a persons bad day haunt them on a video game. You just want to force ppl to join Linkshells.
Thats the real reason.
Because it's a bad thing to join a Linkshell and a community with that, Kilta? I don't get your point on that, seriously.
And I'm all against Cross-Server Partys. It destroyed the community on WoW, it didn't do the best to the community of FW.
Most people didn't even bother to say hello or goodbye or didn't talk at all, randomly left the group or flamed the whole group. My personal experiences with that system are utterly bad.
I met most of my friends on FFXI during random exp partys and I think the possibilitys to find new friends with a cross-server system are.. well.. not that good. D:
A good argument is one with examples to present to prove your point. You are the perfect example and I am happy to have this conversation with you. You are like a living proof of why this idea sucks, hard, and the more you try to support it the more obvious it becomes.
Every idiot and jerk justifies their actions in more or less delusional ways. They don't think of themselves as idiots, which is why the only way to get rid of them is to shut them off the community. Then they can go tell their buddies how he was treated unfairly "for no reason" and that they "don't get it" and how they are "bad players", but at least he won't show up to ruin everyone's day ever again. It's also good for laughs.
I did join LS's on ffxi, and no it isn't bad. But forcing others to join is not cool. I was in a dynamis LS that had played favorites. I ended up in a party with a member and he tried to mpk me several times. He also did harassing emotes to me during dynamis. I reported it to a gm who said nothing could be done since they do not do anything under LS's. I went to the leaders who pretty much told me to leave. The reason he did all this was "i was annoying him" All I did was be pleasent say hello and asked how ppl were doing.
And also i met meny ppl in ffxi who don;t say hello or goodby to the LS's I also met tons of ppl who join LS's just for help and don't talk at all.
All of you reasons can happen with and with out cross server LFG or que system. If you guys can't understand games are meant to be fun not work places, we would have bad communities. So far that isn't the case.
