I'm a crafter so I'm going to put myself way out there by saying this but, I think the repair system should be gone. It's more of a nuissance then anything else. Crafters are not making loads of gil repairing, at least not for me. In most cases the reward barely covers the cost of the repair. I do more repairs for friends then anything and I never charge them. Ya, I'd like to see the repair system go away.
Apparently some one is complaining because they dont want to interact with others in a MMO.
Sorry, this is not a rubbish MMO which merely combine a single player game+chatroom.
It is even harder to understand why ppl would complain that they cant get things(repair) free(lvling craft). Since when we have soo many ppl begging for free lunch?
r35 item? Really ppl find NPC for repair?
I start to doubt our education system.
You're making the same mistake I've seen people make a few times already. You're shunning crafting. No one in their right mind would use the NPC to repair their gear. Crafting is an important part of the game, and you will most likely end up kicking your own butt for not partaking in it. I ranked up crafts with the purpose of repairing my own equipment in mind, So I dont have to carry around multiple swords etc.
And using weapons above your rank is the worst thing ever to do, not only because they will degrade faster, but unlike armor, their stats WILL be lower than something that is the proper rank, by a lot.
who care about the game system? I have enough works to do in real life. why I have to log in to the game for work as a carpenter or blacksmith?
75% of MMO players play the game because they want to fight or kill something. not to waste their time standing in the town and wait for someone who can repair their stuff
Its pretty far from 75%
your real life issues and commitments should not affect how a game is played
you either play the game as it is
or you find one that suits you better with your time schedule
thats the realistic approach to it
and yeah your % are totaly off
and you didnt even thank me for the repairs i just gave you in game :P ingrates, i tell you
those 75% already left the game
lol Evangela do you like anything about the game currently? I don't see how someone with so much negativity still holds onto something to still complain about EVERYTHING. While I would rather not read all of your posts(if I haven't already) I have yet to see any positive one from you. However, maybe I read one and don't remember because all of your negative posts overshadows it(doubtful but meh).
Response to quote: You don't have to be a carpenter or blacksmith at all. Just shout for 5mins(at most) and problem solved. What is SE suppose to destroy the good chunk of playerbase base that enjoys crafting to feed selfish desires of a niche? Coming up with random(and exaggerated) percentages also makes you lose credibility in your statements.
because I play the game everyday, many hours per day. I'm not someone who left the game but still bashing it
all of my complains are came from my hope to see the game get better, not bad intension at all
what's wrong with that?
I can work 20 minutes and do the behest 10 minutes :D
Guys, give it a rest already.
If you don't like what someone is saying: simply don't give them credit for it by replying to them and causing a needless argument as that'll only give them more attention.
People have a right to an opinion of the systems in this game so even though I do no agree with Evangela's issue with the repair system, I respect that by not insulting her for it.
She's got as much right as everyone else who plays this game to say something based on the systems in-game, remember that.
I personally think the repair system is fine in terms of cost. It SHOULD encourage people to find crafters to repair their gear. I'm usually in favor of game systems that promote the social aspect of a game, but to be honest, you can still avoid it if you'd like. Leave your retainer in the Mender's Ward in Ul'dah overnight with a bunch of repair requests and adequate compensation. I guarantee that it will all be repaired for you within a day (at least, it's never failed me so far when I've done this).
30 min standing in the city to get repair, not to get party or do guildleve, but for repair, whats the fun in this?
It is more than just about your fun.
This is an MMO, and as such I believe they should be much, much more than what many of them currently are. I don't know what you are doing wrong, but when I used to need repairs (haven't needed any repairs at all since the changes to degredation and the 35% damage area) it would take me at most five minutes or so.
One of the things that has kept me in this game is that you get to know people and the server (even if you never speak to them), where to go if you want weapons, repairs or the like. I am able to spend my time out gathering (And yes, maybe most of you do spend your time out fighting monsters, but why should I be screwed over once again in an MMO so that you can go and beat up yet more monsters like every other game?) with my Botanist gear on, and a sense of pride in that I am not part of a large group of folk at that stage. That is what I enjoy - and you would rip that away from me just for convenience?
Many MMOs now would pass for multiplayer dungeon crawlers back in the day. They only get 'MMO' stamped on them so that they can make a bit of money each month. I levelled up to 85 from 80 in World of Warcraft after leaving my character sitting at 80, and didn't talk to a single person. Didn't buy from anyone, didn't need anyone - didn't see anyone either! This is not what an MMO should be like, you are joining a game with people all over the world/EU/USA/Whatever and yet all you want to do is level up as fast as possible killing things with a tiny clique not interacting with anyone else in the community.
I love the feeling that comes with knowing that the chances are, if I see someone using a weapon or item that has wooden parts to it, that the original wood that the crafter used to create that item may have come from my efforts in the game. This satisfies me more, and keeps me more interested in Eorzea, than any THREAT TO THE WORLD in Azeroth.
Remember, changes for your convenience could very well rip the game out from under the feet of many who enjoy the current system - this was all too true for Star Wars Galaxies, and I had been searching for an MMO that felt like an MMO ever since. I have one here, and I don't want to lose it. Note, my highest Crafting is Weaver at 20 - personally I don't enjoy it much, but I love Botanist (Rank 39) and spend some time fighting also.
I just stand in town and say seeking repairs and it takes no time at all. i never use the repair npc. usually if im afk or doing something in town i do this or switch to other equipment while doing stuff i never have problems getting repaired for cheap.
