Was still hoping to hear something from SE about how they are going to fix these problems, but they've been exceedingly quiet today. Here's hoping they've got some larger plan than simply opening new realms and giving those realms a separate duty finder to prevent more concurrent logins from causing duty finder crashes.
Again - free or forced migration to spread out the population would be great. The ability to consolidate toons to a new destination realm would be great too, since many of us characters on multiple realms - as we've been unable to play on our preferred realm much of the time.
Dropping that concurrent login cap from 5k down to 3k temporarily at least would result in less zone congestion in the starter and high end zones too.
And lastly... here's hoping that an AFK kick and a working login queue are on the list for implementation ASAP!
The issue has been addressed. It has just been announced that concurrent logins will be increased
I think add new world same add new resource.
Each world share resource another world.
As soon as I read the word "toons" I stopped reading :/
If we get past Wednesday and the same issues are still present, will all the White Knights finally admit SE has a problem here? No.
I'm hopeful though. Wednesday will be the end to most of the problems.
Ok I'll give you a little lesson here, when a company notices an issue that can cost them thousands of $$$ per month, they will want to fix said problem, it's the logical course of action, now you seem to think they will refuse to fix the root cause of the problem, yet give no reasons why they would refuse to fix the problem, your first paragraph gives this impression.
The development and operations team know the problem is the amount of concurrent connections (the amount of connections to the servers at one time) is the root cause of the problem (not rocket science) so they re-evaluate how much server capacity they will need, then reconfigure and install more servers to the farms that make up each world and bang instant capacity increase, they could also just upgrade the existing servers if they deem it appropriate.
It could very well come under "Address several known issues" because the lack of server capacity is a known issue. They don't have to list every single thing they are doing.
