You mean hopefully the server additions and optimizations will happen soon. Then AFK kick will not be necessary because everyone will be able to login anytime.

Why is this hard to understand?

anyone watch the game on Twitch? there are streamers that leave their stream on nothing but their afk characters while they go to bed. Its like a big FU to anyone thats having trouble getting in the game.

People who say they are working adults or they deserve it this because they have played since 1.0 etc... yeah well everyone has a RL everyone has things they have to do, but not everyone stays logged in and hurts other players free time, which might be the only time THEY have to play.

What SE needs to do, if they don't have an AFK kickers, is reset the servers and do an emergency maintenance to kick people off. They could do it every 6-8 hours or randomly though out the day.

I will say I've been pretty lucky getting in the last week or so, only have to deal with this a few times. But when I have had to deal with it, it's annoying. Everyone needs to be respectful and not justify childish actions.

This proposal won't work, simply because it's success hinges on everyone logging out when they're not playing. If that was the case, then yes, things would probably run a lot smoother. But you'll always have people who abuse it. It's like putting a chest of gold outside a village and telling the villagers "I'd appreciate it if none of you took any of the gold, okay?" Without any consequences for their actions, they're going to do whatever they can get away with.

I've stated before that this speaks to the "character" of a person. The problem is they don't see that they have a character flaw, and don't realize that the people that can't log in because they are afk are actually people! Real life living breathing people. I blame the parents.

I am sorry everyone is having problems logging in but reasoning with all the players that are online at the moment is pretty much impossible to temporarily fix the issue. And then, you have the people that would take advantage over the matter, people that say they log out would remain online to avoid these issues.

Guess it is something in the human nature.

I agree, I would rather is I'm like 1000 in queue then deal with these lobby issues and spamming the button hoping I might get into queue.

the best part about this is square isnt going to do anything to these people who are admitting to abusing their system. they should all get a week ban, but this game is ruled with a doughy fist.

those people are abusing an exploit and grieving other players by keeping them from logging in. if square doesnt do anything to them they would be liable in a class-action for not enforcing their own rules.

i always log off when i'm not playing i dont see the point on staying in. Log out in my inn get bouns xp and also gives someone else a chance to get on. Yea might have a little trouble getting back on but at least the big picture is i getting bouns xp. Plus since the new servers are coming just around the conner and we are getting 6 weeks free from SE, i dont the hassle.

So i agree log out if you're not playing there isnt any need to stay logged in. Give some one else a chance to play for a change. If you wanna be self go play WoW that is 90% of there playerbase anyway.

IF everybody who is staying logged in AFK would just log out then their wouldn't be long in issues to the extent they are now. OF course the first few hours of EA were horrible but now people are playing based off their respectable times zones. I already noticed it is easier to get in at around 10pm EST. It would be even easier if people would log out. There are literally thousands standing around AFK. If they would log out there wouldn't be any congestion problems.

What SE needs to do is a server reboot even morning to boot all the AFK's. This is something a lot of launch MMO do that I've seen though it was more for maintenance reasons but they only brought down the servers what, twice, since EA started?

I love the people that excuse their selfish behavior by saying "SE forced us!" No they did not. SE may have made a bad system, but they didn't force you to be jerks to other people. That's all yours to own.

I do blame them but i will also blame the the players. Plain and simple it is rude and shows a blatant disregard for others no matter the excuse cause that is all it is. I will continue to log out because it is the right thing to do. The new generation with its total belief in self-entitlement is disgusting period.

A ban for wanting to play the game that most of us have waited very patiently for since its inception. That is utterly rediculous. That would be sure to alienate the fans that want to play and lose potential income for SE in the long term. Just be patient, I know it sucks when you want to play, but find something else to do, and try to play later. It should be fixed early next week, we'll probably be getting abit more free playtime due to the server instability. You'd swear someone stole the last cookie from the cookie jar on you, impatient whiners.

p.s. as a sidenote, I logout when I'm done playing. But I can understand why people would stay logged in.

other rules have been enforced against other players, inconsistency is tantamount to discrimination. im being discriminated against by square.

at the very least, teaching others how to exploit should result in a lengthy ban from the forums. unless they want to make it ok to do that.

Sorry, no. I had been logging out every time, but yesterday I spent from 4pm to 1am trying to log in. I am not willingly logging out again this weekend.

Thought I'd mention in full disclosure that I do log out overnight, and am currently logged out and suffering from 1017 and 2002 errors. While unfortunate, I have other things I can do in the meantime and am enjoying an incredible brunch. However, I do Kong myself in prior to going to work and stay logged in during the day (shouldn't you all be in school or at work anyway?).

Never mind the different time zones of EU players.

Had to work this morning, its now 4:30pm and I want to relax and play the game but nope, can't get in !

You know ... I WAS logging out when I was done for the same reason to let people in. Id use my Xbox controller to spam the log in and usually be in within 15 minutes. However 1017 just keeps getting worse and now im getting 2002 which doesnt even let me hit the start button. Dam that ... if I get in, not logging out anymore until these issues are resolved.

Enough is enough, this is SE's fault and theyre taking their sweet effin time. Trion, a no name company back when they released Rift did a hell of a job with their release and were already adding servers and giving off free transfers. Its a shame that such a huge company like SE who has been patting themselves on the back for changing and being so consumer conscious is being outplayed like this. Ive been part of many releases and not one has had to have players spamming the log in, claiming a queue "pinging" the servers would crash it.

Unless SE give any bonus for people who actually log off to worth enough with the risk they can't log in. I don't think any word woll be able to convince them to log off.

I don't think SE should or will give people a bonus for doing the right thing. If they can't implement a AFK kicker at this moment then they should just reset the servers every few hours and force log off these people who are being disrespectful and rude. Everyone has a right to play, and people shouldn't be clogging up the servers while they are gone for half the day working and sleeping.

its all the People staying online wile sleeping/working that is at fault there.
yes SE made it so only ??5k?? players could play per server. but that means for every afk player there is, the numbers of new players decrees.

i would rater wait 2h trying to log in and know people log out instead of waiting 2h to get in to just find out half the server is AFK

Hopefully the new worlds start coming up Monday or Tuesday and this is the last weekend where things are so extreme. I'm really disappointed right now because I played quite a lot in 1.0 and I managed to convince several people to join me in 2.0. Sadly they are all stuck on different servers right now and me being Legacy have no idea when ill actually be able to play with them. I love the game but I would love it a lot more if I could play with my friends.

I think alot people stay logged on because their afraid they may not get back on. Thus screwing it up for those who want to play. :(

Why log out ever, I don't know about some people, but I tried being nice and logging out and its lead to me being completely unable to play on the 30th and set me back about 4.5 hours on the 29th. Once I get back into this game im never logging out again. It costs me less than 2 dollars a day to keep my computer on all day. Its totally worth it to play the game that I spent 30 dollars on. If people want to save money they can get a refund for a product that they purchased but are unable to use... that would save them a much larger amount of money. Sorry but SE made the decision by implementing no afk disconnects and giving rested xp to afks in sanctuaries.

Most of you asking this would turn around and AFK yourselves and justify it with "well I waited so long... and everyone else does it anyway!"

Those who stay logged in overnight, ruin it for the rest of us, this is why they need a boot after 15 minutes of being AFK so that more room can be free for those who cannot get on.

I stay logged in and I do not care about you or your ability to play. I do not pay for you.

If I found a AFK person I would report them and then quote from the Prohibited Activities how their being AFK is causing others to not enjoy the game and that they're gridlocking the server not allowing others to access it.

When did I ever stay you were paying for me?, one the other hand your Laptop/Computer is going to officially be vulnerable to overheat if you stay logged in 24/7.

Need to make an idle ban timer and see how fast that clears things up.

Forgot to say this but those who stay logged in overnight, are giving those who are unable to get on a server, the 10102 error when they attempt to get on one.

Ya as annoying is it is, if i get back in i'm not logging out. Sorry I know this sucks for some people but we paid for a service and I'm not spending hours upon hours trying to get into a game that I pay for while fighting with this crap. If it was FTP (which i'm glad it isn't) I'd be a little more understanding but it's not, so I'm not.
