Hatching Tide hats?

I started in Limsa Lominsa with Motte. She sings the same song as what was posted above. But her assistant, is somewhat more helpful, as Limsa NPCs are more, um ... "direct" in their manner of speech.

I think something is different about getting the other caps, i mean the NPC by the eggs offer only the quest for Pristine Egg Cap (rank 5 quest) it is specifically detailed in quest journal so it's probably impossible to get any other cap through that quest. So somewhere, someplace there must be a trigger to unlock second (and so one) quests that will give you different means of obtaining eggs and that there will be specifically shown that the reward is different cap than the Pristine One.

I have an idea, but I can't really try it out, since I'm work.

Do you think this has anything to do with FFXIV's deities? They mention prayer a lot. Also, there are 12 eggs and 12 deities. I wonder if we're supposed to be bring eggs to the altars or something.

I mean, the definition of Archon is literally, "A high-official, ruler, or authoritative figure" and comes from the Greek word arkhein which means 'to rule.'

So, if you take take 'Archon Earth Egg' or 'Archon Lightning Egg' in this context, it means 'Earth Ruler Egg' and 'Lightning Ruler Egg.'

I know one of the eggs you get from this is the Earth Egg. Has anyone tried going to Nophica's Alter in Gridania?

I'm looking at the maps now, trying to see if there's a specific place that we have to go or travel to that makes sense with the clues we're given, but that's all I can think of right now.

That might be the case, we all know this Event is heavy based on lore (Eorzea world, history etc. call it how much you want) so it might be something to do with this. But where are those altars? I don't recall anything i saw in the game might actually be an altar...

Beside i though it might be something with gods, or even something... The whole thing of warming the eggs goes through my head but there is one contradiction with it...

We are getting our eggs only while accepting the quest for Pristine Egg Cap... which gives the materials for that egg cap and when collected trade those for the cap...

So there is one big hole in here... Since the quest must have been somehow transformed in the journal to give other reward than this one... and i don't know if that's even possible :/

PS: About warming eggs, if we have some kind of volcano or something I even though maybe put the eggs there somewhere or find something up there but I don't recall we have anything like that available now.

PS2: After getting my pristine egg cap i went through 70~80% of Gridania (City) searching for an eggs (I though maybe some eggs will lie on the floor or something - especially when you get pristine egg cap and do the first quest) but i haven't found anything... I mainly only done that because there was something on lodestone about kids going through the town and gathering eggs.

On a random note...anyone found any dodo nests out and about? I assume the answer to be "no" but those are apparently the source of a lot of the eggs in the lodestone lore post. I know people have said that they've been killing spriggans and dodos to no avail, but I didn't know if anyone had come across a location to poke for eggs.

You know, I actually kind of hope that they're not planning on giving us an update. It's been too long since I've actually hit a puzzle in a game that frustrates the hell out of everybody, then everyone comes together, slowly works on it, then somebody hits their head in a flash of inspiration and everyone goes, "Holy crap! Why didn't I think of that?"

But, then again, I'm in this more for the puzzle than the hats....I have zero interest in wearing an egg on my head. Wouldn't fit my character at all. X.x

My only concern is that the limited timeframe of the event might not be enough in which to figure it out. Especially if more of it requires 8-12 hour wait times like the eggs for the Pristine hat.

That aside, I much prefer events that require thinking and figuring to "push button, get reward"

Maybe as you advance you get eggs quicker :P

Just noticed the Spriggans beside the 2 NPCs in Limsa are holding a chocobo egg and a midnight. Probably just decoration.

Well, might be coincidence, but did anyone do the quest of the elezen in front of Jihli? That quest send you to a rand new spot with around 12 spriggans clustered.

I've done that Spriggan quest, it's in no way related to this easter event.

I just did the Spriggan thing tonight as well. Definitely no relation.

EDIT: Has anyone tried trading hats yet?

If there are more egg hats to obtain, I think it would be through crafting. The elemental eggs have no decorations on them. Try them out in goldsmithing or something.
Also can anybody read Japanese? They might have some insight to the event.
I honestly believe some people are looking into it too much... Alters and nest and what not... bit far fetched.

And there is all-worlds maintenance on April 25th - the first day back at work from our sequence of public holidays over Easter, but this event runs till May 9th. I smell a twist to be unlocked.

So I can only have one prestine egg cap right? So I am not supposed to have the other 2 city states quest completed? Tried to turn in eggs at limsa to finish that quest but it won't let me.

Even if they are "Unique" you can throw it into your bazaar or give it to your retainer and just get another cap. So you can have all three pristine egg caps from all cities.

I moved to Limsa and started the quest there. As in Gridania, NPC asked me to get 3 eggs (lightning, water and earth) and one Archon egg. I get all these eggs (bought one of em)! Now NPC is telling something that "I'm back with eggs again" and doesnt change the eggs for another cap. What to do??

Errrrr... Wait a second - i have to get THREE prestine egg caps from three cities, right? But why?? I don't need three similar caps, i want to get different caps!! Who made this quest?!?!

Chill out, wait for them to unlock the next part of the quest as the event goes on

Chill out, wait for them to unlock the last part of the quest

You are only going to get another prestine cap but you will have that quest added to your list. Just toss your first cap in a retainer and turn in the 2nd set of eggs to complete quest.

I'm just doing all three so I can have all three in my completed quest list. (OCD) Noone knows how to get the other caps yet. Might not even be in game until the update monday

This ain't the thing, guys At Eorzeapedia already tried that... it don't appear to have anything related to crafting.

To continue an earlier discussion, Jihli's text (Gridania) is the same as the quest start verse in Limsa. I did that one today.

i actually did find an alter a while ago while adventuring around Thanalan but honestly i cant remember where, and i wasnt wearing my pristine egg cap so i will deff go around looking for it again today, i remember getting to there from a cave entrance. This quest has been blowing my mind also. ^^ Perhaps the next part just hasnt been released yet, because monday we are supposed to have another update 1.17a but who knows.

The dreamer in uldah also metions "shell" and "protect" so i switched to conj while wearing the egg cap and tried casting protect on myself as well as shell, no avail.

For those that are curious, here's what Wadard (the Dreamer Kikina's assistant) at Ul'dah says when questioned about the eggs:

Fortune alights on the shoulders of those♪
Who gather the eggs that Heaven bestows!♪
Collect one Archon egg and one lightning, earth, and water Archon egg, and I shall give you a pristine egg cap, similar to the one the Dreamer wears herself.
This combination is required for the first step in the summoning ritual. The uncolored egg, representing one of the twelve Archons, is placed at the center of a circle made from the aspected eggs. It is from these that the Archon draws the energy needed to break from the aether and reenter this world.
And what happens after that, you ask? Why, the Archon leads us through the coming cataclysm, and on into a new era. It has been thus since the dawn of time.

When you actually turn in the eggs to get the cap, he says:

Have you brought all of the eggs I asked for?
Why yes, I believe they are all in order. Please wait here until I return with your reward.
A pristine egg cap, just as promised. And with this raiment, you will be recognized as a hero of the Archons. Keep it close, so that when our saviors return to Eorzea, they might know their loyal servants.

Makes me think that something else is going to happen at the update, too. I'm kind of hoping we're not overthinking this, though we probably are. It's going to feel lame if we put all this effort into it, only to realize that the next update just adds more eggs to collect to get a cap, then another one adds more eggs to collect to get a cap. X.x

Has anyone tried to wear down the durability of the Pristine Egg Cap to 0? Maybe it'll crack and reveal a new cap. ;)

all i know is I got one egg a water one and have no clue how to get more.. or the cap...

now you need to get a regular Archon Egg, an Earth Archon Egg, a Lightning Archon Egg, and then talk to the NPC beside the NPC that gives you an egg every 8 hours to get your prestine cap.

If you just want to buy the eggs to search the Wards. Masons --> Gemstones bottom of list is where the eggs are.

If you want to just buy the helm search lower tailers ward. But then you won't get quest completed.

I dont think that they would have done that, simply because there are players who are in ther 20's on all classes or higher, and that would completely shut them out of it, because it would take ages to break a cap like that.

Is this like the holiday event where you talk to the NPC when your cool-down has re-set and you get another random egg, or do you need to do something special to get water earth and lighting?

At a glance I see a Dodo, Apkallu, and a Chocobo... now I know I've received Apkallu and Dodo eggs as loot. Not sure what the Chocobo has to do with this besides the Chocobo Egg Cap and possibly those feathers in the picture.

I also see a Spriggan under the desk with an egg, which you can read about in the text next to the pic.

Last note I have on this picture is that there are some odd items on the desk, some bottles... possibly dye. But what I'm really getting at is that fancy contraption, looks kinda like the Alchemy symbol to me. If crafting is involved in this quest, maybe it has something to do with an Alchemist turning an Archon Egg into one of the other elemental eggs like Fire Archon Egg.
