Unable to update the group NA/EU Character List

This is starting to be frustrating. How long am I going to keep with this ridiculous error nonsense.Every time I log in I just want to play in peace but instead errors plays a game with me. Again jp servers aren't affected at all.And of course no information from SE.
I'm patient.But this is over the border.I'm done with having to contact SE support every time.SE should really solve the Server issue,not with the login restriction crap!

Was having same issue. Eventually got in. It will eventually switch to unable to update JP

I've been receiving this error for the past two days now. Is there any resolution in sight? What is being addressed in regard to this error? This is getting very tiresome. It's nice to see an apology from the producer, but how much patience are they expecting their paying customers to have when their product is not working? It would be nice to hear a course of action and the timing related to when we can expect resolution. Saying sorry does not really leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling. I, along with many other paying customers, would like to know when we will be able to play.

my ps3 froze 2 hrs ago and it has been giving that same thing ever since, I've restarted everything, hell I basicaly turn it off for over an hr and still nothing...

what exactly worked for those few lucky that managed to get back on?

please let me know it's ****ing me off the only hrs I can play a week and their being wasted due to this issues

Now I can get in and the world is full. Seems like there are lots of bottlenecks at the moment, and it is just random which error you get (world full, unable to update server list, lobby server crash, etc.).

This is incredibly annoying. If I restart then I get error 2002. I really miss error 1017 right now. I can't believe this is actually getting worse.

Had same problem, but now can't connect to Lobby server.

Here`s the hurdles you have to jump through to play this game :

1. Is the lobby full? if so try again... if not move on to step 2.
2. Is your server list up? If not... refresh and try again. If you succeed go to step 3
3. Is your world full? If so try again... and again... (this is where I am). If you get a que for your server chances are you get in (or like me you get disconnected because the que is evil evil)
4. Play the game or repeat any of these steps...

This is a great mini game SE... thanks (no this is sarcasm... been trying to get on for 2 hours this morning... )

so it is now just before 4pm and I still can not get in to the European servers

I'm confident things will get better. Right now my NA/EU list won't load either. First time I've got this error actually. Though recently, my friends and I are having much better / more consistent luck at the "log-in game." I think we all just need to keep in bright spirits through this tough time. For me the game is so SO worth it.

So, I'm getting this error where the world/character lists for NA/EU won't load - although there is no mention of maintenance going on anywhere. If I don't get this error message then I get one that says lobby server has encountered an error and it closes the whole client.

Unable to update NA/EU list, but status shows servers up? This problem again?

10pm - 2am AEST same issue last 3 days... obviously they got no idea whats wrong or how to start troubleshooting.

I, just like everyone else, am unable to update NA/EU lists and now I have a lobby connection error.
I understand that people like to come to the defense of SE and FFXI, and I am sure that eventually things will be fixed.
That being said, the developers must anticipate at least some of the technical difficulties at launch. Impressions are made at the start and your first impression is sometimes your only impression. There are going to be a lot of people who are going to be unwilling to pay for something when other free games are providing superior service. Sometimes you only get one chance. Hopefully this doesn't count as our free month until everything gets squared away.

YES!! I got in queue and logged into Odin (EU).

Must be persistent guys, I spammed and encountered error 2002 and 1017 for 45 minutes before I got in queue.

Make sure you open all your ports required so you don't encounter other login problems:

UDP
55296～55551

TCP
80, 8080, 443, 55296～55551

Just started a new character on Moogle this morning and can't get in anymore

I could play my old character on the legacy server, but not sure if that's a good long term idea to play there

Let me rephrase, THERE ARE NO EU SERVERS, they are ALL IN NA in Montreal Canada, people from EU are pluggin into the montreal server Regardless of if they choose a server they think is EU. The WHOLE this is a EU server is more people saying hey come here so we are in similar timezones. There are TWO server lists because one server group is from JP the other is located in Canada.

GET IT? Just choose any dang server that has people on from your timezone, ping will be the same unless you go on a JP server ;)

It started happening to me at around 1PM EST and nothing has changed. Furthermore, the world status for Coeurl says that's it is online. Can we please have some feedback from a Rep?

EDIT: So I restarted my Laptop with the ethernet plugged in and it initially said it didn't update, by I tried once more before closing the game and now it's working. Sadly, Coeurl is 1017 full, but at least the character list is updating now.

Its been happening to me since last night sometime. Say servers are online and they are people my friend on PS3 is logged in. Weird, but least everything should smooth out soon

7:30 pm EST and I'm STILL getting this error. So annoying. I thought you guys would have it figured out this time around. I'm typically a patient person.. but after the last fail of a launch I'm kind of getting annoyed. Why you weren't anticipating this may people, is beyond me. The fact that you don't have an afk timer and longer queues is also beyond me when these same problems affected the Beta. :/

Ya'll need to get your shit together or I personally wont be subbing after my free two weeks are up. Just saying.

Odin server is online & there is a little notice on the launcher saying "we were experiencing technical difficulties wherein players on the North American and European data center worlds were unable to log into on final fantasy xiv a realm reborn.

Why does this go on for hours in NA before anyone at SE even acknowledges it, but it goes on for minutes in JP, before there is a post, and fix on the way??? I am very very upset!

Get a grasp on our brand you FF XIV ARR! You can play late with our "Late Access" Policy which allows you to constantly frustrate trying to log in into the game you paid for! So much better than that "Early Access" S**t. I mean, seriously, don't you love that AMAZING Log in music? We know you do! There you go! 1017 for everyone! Enjoy!

guessing u havent read maintance forum since these been posted up a few days ago and u would of noticed there was maintance notices up in game 2-3 hrs prior which was like every 30mins-1hr
