I actually got a call back from BT earlier today when I was at work (missed it but they left a voicemail) after I sent them an email, and all they told me was I had to renew my contract with them in order for them to stop throttling A Realm Reborn and other P2P, which I think is ridiculous! They act as if they are completely powerless to stop throttling on my existing Infinity 2 connection yet tell me to renew and *wizz-bang* they won't throttle me anymore?! Total bulls**t.

ISP: BT
Country of residence: England
When does the problem occur: 7pm - 11pm. Others with BT haven't however stated any issues over the weekend. This is probably because we've yet to hit a proper weekend of playing (discount early access, we all know it was barely accessible).
However, I did manage to get in to play on Sunday evening and this was when I first noticed my down time. According to the BT website (http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/d...andusagepolicy), 'peak times' for the weekend is 9am to midnight, which is basically the whole day.

Occurrence - Always
Seem to get mini lag spikes randomly constantly def worse in the evenings though, have a 3.1 Megabit connection which is the best in this area, but that should be enough if the game is all i'm running at the time. Def seems like they're throttling it.
pinging google, my connection is stable even when i hit lag spikes in game. Really has to be SE's end or some connection issue between Frontier and them.

Would be good to hear whether SE plan to contact BT to address this issue. I have tried to speak to them but they are a bunch of useless idiots who are convinced that running speedtest proves that this is not a problem on their network

Check out this thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...t-UK-ISP-BT-EE
There have been a couple of responses from the mods, stating that they are currently working with BT and Orange/EE on this issue.
this thread itself was started by a Mod, so that they can get an idea of the ISPs that treat the game as P2P software and therefore throttle it.
Rest assured, friend. They're working on it :)
