The server is full, try again later (1017)

Keep getting this error on shiva, can't even queue... please fix.

got put in the queue at 94, get down to 5 then kicked me off telling me the servers full and to come back later. smooooooth

Finally saw server list, tried to log on and got 1017 a couple times and now server list is gone again.

Getting the same, some times before I can actually choose a server. When it can actually load the NA/EU server list, been having that problem as well.

Atleast you guys are getting that error, I'm now getting "Unable to update the Group NA/EU character list." So I don't even get a server list, ah well work tomorrow been a fantastic day playing this game oh wait, I haven't played today!

Might play on the JP servers, they've not gone down once! xD

I have been total of three (3) times in the queue (was 107, 456 and 300) and then like under a minute later it just gives 1017 - "This World is currently full. Please wait until an opening is available and try again." Well thanks, I've only been in the queue for 3 times and then kicked out of it well ...because middle finger, thats why...

I payed good money for this game I get a Error from the beginning in beta Stopping me from playing for 2 days. The Na/Eu Servers have not been up for a solid 5 hours since the game went up I honestly Can not believe that they can't figure out whats going on by now You's are Launching on Monday. Im praying You's pull this together but Honestly If people are still getting that Error EU/NA list I PROMISE I won't be around if I have to see that Every time I log in No way. Love the game HATEE the downtime. a few maintances is understandable but all this and nothing to show for it and still getting kicked out no play time Im not happy about this at all.

I too keep getting this. If you get the world NA/EU server down message just closing the client for a minute or two seems to correct that.

I've managed to get in the queue once or twice but then it just 1017s

I have now been in the Queue 3 separate times and each time I have been kicked out with the World is Full message.

Same thing is happening to me on the Adamantoise server.

It really sucks when you sit in your voice chat and hear all your friends/guildies playing and having a good time, and you are stuck trying to log in and out for now over 5 hours without even a note as to what they are doing or fixing.

Apparently, What SE is calling a login limitation is a broken problem.. SE isn't going to gain any fans or returning players to this issue at hand. They're losing more money by not fixing the issue than gaining. Did SE give the professional programmers a week paid vacation & kept the amateur programmers to figure the problems out. The problem was suppose to be fixed after stating they solved the issue but matters got worse instead of better.

A queue is ACCEPTABLE, saying try again later and being booted back to start screen is NOT.

Just got hit with this on Coerul.

With no auto AFK feature this is a bad thing. People are just going to leave their characters logged in and others won't get to join. :\

Ultros is hit as well. can't even play on japans servers as they are missing for me!!!

Their idea of a fix is to lock out half the player base to keep a stable environment.

You think people are going to buy a subscription after the first month at this rate?

Having same issue on Cactuar. If I log completely out and come back in it will occasionally give me the server list, but after 2 or 3 attempts to log in with 1017 error it loses the server list.

I'm beginning to wonder if part of this is because they decided to group NA and EU together. No way the one country of Japan is hitting entire JP server system like 2 separate continents hitting a similar system.

A queue is really the LEAST they should be giving us, instead of making us try againd and again ad infinitum.

1.5 hours trying to login and getting 1017.

148th time is a charm - queue showed up on Balmung and i'm logging in...fingers crossed.

I logged off for a quick break to do some dishes and stretch my legs. Had I known Hyperion was one of the servers that no one could get into, I would've idled afk somewhere.

After trying to get in-game for the last 4 hours getting nothing but "World is full" and "Can't retrieve serverlist" errors, I'm giving up. My wife is 3 feet away from me playing the game, she logged in on the second try. This is not acceptable. As a Legacy player who pre-ordered the PS3 version, I've now payed twice for this game. Use some of that money to reinstate the queue system BEFORE launch. It's archaic to have people hammer your loginservers to try to get in based on nothing but dumb luck. A functioning queue I can deal with, with this utter nonsense of "Server full" I cannot. Your game is going to crash and burn even harder then v1.0 if you don't fix this fast.

Ok i was calm all those problems they couldnt handle, i was waiting till they fix just a tiny tiny problem, like FINISHING THE MAIN QUESTS! they apologizing for inconvinience all the time, yeah 2 days of open beta? i mean c'mon! those things are not minor bugs! But as I said I was calm, maintance after maintance, and now i cant even log in to game? World is full? the whole world I mean? SE you knew how many ppl preordered game, u could've done math and guess what your server cant handle the traffic, It would be ok if I didnt have to work all week and wait for the next weekend to play!

The queue makes no sense anyway.
I got kicked out like this a few times, than suddenly 3th in queue and a log in.
That was this afternoon.

Since the maintenance I can't log in no matter what.
Even when I'm in queue it just kicks me out.

It pretty apparent they need more servers for NA/EU. Or maybe we all should just go play on JP servers :P

Truer words have never been spoken. Even with an hour or two queue, I could get some reading done or go grocery shopping. My husband managed to get on after about 20 minutes. Here I am about 1hour and 25minutes later. I get to watch him play the game, oh goody.

im beginning to think... that for some weird reason.. they want this to be another failure.. im at a loss for words for this.. im beginning to hate this company though and through it... their game.. how in the hell.. are you locking paying customers out of this game? how about actually fixing the damn problem? I swear ive never seen this level of failure in customer service in anything online or not.. soo.. I have a character on phoenix (eu) with the same problem... after trying for 2 hours only 1017 i finaly got into queue for 1 whole minute and then it kicked me out with error 1017 "the world is full" i'm gonna call it for today and hope for better game tommorow ^^ or maybe i should just stay on the japanese legacy server instead of a european server, not so many problems there

I just got error 1017. It happened to me in Halatali and now it is saying that the world is full. However, on my location, it is also Halatali. Does this mean that It is trying to connect me to the instance server and the world is full? If so, could someone advise me as to how to fix this issue? Many thanks for any possible help: error 1017 has me so confused!

They are limiting the login more than normal. The error message says to wait and login later, you simply have to do what the error message says. You can continue to try over and over and maybe get lucky and get in. I would rather them give us a queue and tell us 4hr or whatever to login.

I managed to login once this morning, after that, the server have went down several times and I havnt been able to login since, this is supposed to be a head start, this is NOT supposed to be a beta, sorry if I'm complaining, but seriously. I'm getting quite annoyed. This problem occurred more than once in the last Beta test and it still continues to keep players from logging in, I've been a paying customer for the entire duration the game was pay2play, and now this? 5 minutes of total playtime during head start? And I cant even stand in que, I have to sit by and WATCH as I press "Start -> [character name] -> OK" repeatedly with little to no hopes of ever getting in to the server. After one beta phase and 2 days of running head start, I kind of expect to be given the option to move my character to a less crowded world that at least lets me login/que for login. Why did you even allow that many characters to be created in the first place?

And tbh, you really expect it to go better by throwing out users that cannot login, forcing them to hammer the login-button till a success? Its like unintentionally asking to be DDOSed, not on purpose, just it becomes side-effect of hundreds/thousands of users trying to connect over and over again.


PLEASE solve this problem and/or move me and my only real-life friend to a server where we can at LEAST enter the world, preferably at the same time.
You honestly cant say you didn't expect there to be more users in head start than in open beta, I mean, you even have records of copies sold.....
