We had better betas to be quite honest as less people played. SE will probably have to buy new servers so its going to take a while before we see some real results unfortunately. There was 160 people in queue on Excalibur a while ago.
Even the website can't cope..

Sneak peak at the NA/EU server processor
-
Only time I've played was when they first turned them on at 2AM. After that it was maintenance, followed by maintenance followed by maintenance. I was dropped from the server for maintenance yesterday and when I woke up today to finally be able to play, servers are down for maintenance.
At this rate the early release is pointless. I'm not going to be able to play again until next weekend due to work. Thanks alot Squeenix. :/ I'm a nonlegacy 1.0 CE account owner who spent $30 to preorder for early access and you took that away from me.
Edit: What follows is mostly a response to a DIFFERENT thread, but because of Square-Enix's extremely restrictive posting rules, I have exceeded my 1 new posts per day due to my character level (which would be higher if I could play)
You are god damned right I am entitled. I bought the 1.0 CE* but did not qualify for Legacy status.
1.0 owners were complimented with a copy of the game for 2.0 so they wouldn't have to buy it again.
Non-legacy 1.0 owners were not given early access.
Non-legacy 1.0 owners who wanted early access had to buy a second full-priced copy of the game because Square-Enix gave them no other alternative.
Now I own two copies of the game that shouldn't have been necessary.
Money I spent that I didn't have to just for the purpose of playing in the Early Access.
I have been denied that Early Access, thus putting my second copy purchase to complete waste.
So you are god damned right I am entitled. I want the service I paid for, that I paid solely for and has not been delivered with limited time ticking on the clock.
* Still the worst CE I've ever bought, no contest.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Many MMO launches experience these sort of problems. I'm losing faith in the community, as everyone seems like they are new to the internet and video games here. SE doesn't owe any of you anything for sorting out these problems. They aren't liable because you can't make a responsible decision of whether you should go to work, or play a video game.
Want an example?
Guild Wars 2.
Around launch, there were plenty of errors much like the 3102, 90000 and what not. There were also plenty of bugs, that would prevent you from zone completion
It took them quite a few tries, and these were done almost weekly.
At least SE has been working to resolve the issue around the clock, even if you all sound like self-entitled children.
-
This is what happens when you go with a cheap datacenter in Canada. Should have hosted it at/near SE in california. You get what you pay for SE. Would like to know the specs of the servers in JP and NA and the rating of the datacenters.

Sure but this is different. This is a relaunch of an already failed MMO. Gaming websites, people, and forums everywhere are going to be looking for any reason to call thus relaunch a failure, and SE is just handing them a reason. How long will you keep calling people crybabies?
Will you call people crybabies tomorrow if these issues still aren't fixed? If people are still unable to login or even if we can log in, not do anything instance related?
Will you still white knight 2 days from now when the game goes live and the servers die again from getting hit even harder with more people trying to log in and play? When thousands of people on PS3 who have never played a MMO before and aren't accustomed to "launch day mmo problems" get frustrated?
How about 3 days from now when reviews from every gaming website start calling the relaunch of FFXIV a failure? Will you still defend SE when word of mouth spreads that FFXIV is near unplayable because of server problems? When people start leaving from sheer frustration?
And the days after that when the population starts to decline again and FFXIV loses most of it's players? Sure me, you, and a lot of this forum will stay around, and others, but it takes much more than that to run a MMO. SE just can't let this continue on for another 2 days. A new MMO might be able to get away with it but not FFXIV, not after what happened last time and not with new PS3 players who aren't used to stuff like this.

Today I woke up thinking I would try and attempt this infamous Log in boss.
I started the fight only to be one shotted several times by an error 90000 spell.
I decided to take a different approach and made it to phase two of the battle where I was persistently put to sleep by the ridiculously powerful "World is full, please try again when there is an opening spell"...
To my dismay I decided to give it another go. The log in boss instantly hit me with an "unable to update NA/EU server list" zantetsuken attack.
Having got past this point I was again stuck in phase two and continuously put to sleep by the aforementioned spell.
Having licked my wounds and all but given up it was suggested to me to try the much less powerful "Forum" boss.
Well this was easier even though it did cast "slow" several times I managed to win.
If you are listening SE for the love of god please nerf Log in boss it is ridiculously over powered!!!!

I Wish there were more people like you :) seems like this community has the patience of children.

Yes with only 2 days for launch.

My servers don't even load. When I press start it gives me: Unable to update the group NA/EU character list. and all i see are the JP server...

I've been in a few MMO launches and to be honest, this is by far the worst one I've been able to play (or not from the look of things) I can't imagine the PS3 players frustration when they decide to give this game a chance and all of this happens.
-
So any clue how much longer NA is going to be down?
-
really login restrictions and so what happens when its official launch and there is 10 times more people trying to login what are they going to tell all those people who paid to play the game and cannot even log into the na servers.
oh we are sorry for the inconvenience even though you paid to play the game we are restricting how many people can actually log in so that this new version of this game can BOMB and everyone demand a refund.
and they really expect people to pay a monthly subscription with still this many problems with the game.
ps. and yet its funny how there is no problems what so ever with the JP servers they all load just fine and never had any problems with them.
-
Sadly, the servers isn't down as there are people playing. The server just capped and now won't even list all.
-
Well i can definitely say with 100% certainty that id these problems are not fixed by official launch that SE will have lost a customer because i refuse to pay a monthly subscription to a company to play a game that i cannot even login to
-
Now I can't even sit in the Q
-
Ya I was just int he game but was 90000 to 1017 again....this is getting ridiculous....actually no its been ridiculous
-
this is just downright pathetic...whiteknights shutup!!!
-
Well, I read and I read and I read. Although i see all their "We are sorry for the inconvenience " messages everywhere I do not see 1 message stipulating "We are working on the situation"
Seriosuly, all they say is we know and this is what were doing. No "We will try to make it better" anywhere. . . .

Don't forget to hit yourself on the way out, we wont be missing you. I'll be instead enjoying this great game.
People need to relax, obviously none of you have ever played an mmo at release. This is nothing lol.
-
Beta Phase 4 should have been ongoing for a full week, not just the weekend. IIRC, there was only one testing period of one of the phases where they kept servers up for a week. That's just silly.
And yeah....I know Japan has a pretty big population but it still pales in comparison to the population of the rest of the world. Yet they have the same number of servers for both regions. Don't claim to run a worldwide game when you have no intention of actually supporting anything outside your own country.
-
this lauch etc is trash cant login cant do missions advance story nothing now starting at world full screen wow square tell me hows japan servers doing huhhhh?_?

Really you should look before openeiing your big mouth seeing as im a legacy player who played this fail mmo upon its original launch and stuck with it this entire time only to see the same thing all over again. so dont talk to me about playing an mmo upon launch. because this is not the first time that SE has done this
-
I've wasted my whole free day trying to log in. Sigh
-
The errors are probley due to the fact that they are only allowing a limited # of people login and when u got booted/relog'ed u lost your spot to someone else tring to log in
-
To bad that I bought this pos

lolwhiteknight.....your an idiot if you think it is ok that release after release no company learns how to release an MMO better. Not to mention all the idiot mistakes made from a company who shouldve stuck to sp games (3 day open beta? youf or fuckin real SE?). To your argument I have seen numerous MMOs with far smoother launches with half the funding. Take your white knighting elsewhere unless you plan on letting this burning house fall on your head. Whod have thunk in 10 years we would still see no progress made in the realm of MMOs, hell even the game systems have changed in 10 years so why should the servers I guess?

This is what we get for preordering a game :/

Guess who logged in??
This guy
<<<
You just gotta wait a lil and keep trying. They are limiting the number of users to test the new fix on the servers they did last night. Relax, the world is not going to end.
You keep crying on the forums, I am going to go fap to this game.

It's attitudes like this that cause MMO's to fail. You do realize that FFXIV won't run on your hopes and dreams alone, it needs players. People had the same attitude with 1.0, and we all know what happened there.

It wont run on these whiners who quit at the first sign of trouble.

Sadly that's what most people do. Believe it or not not everyone who plays FFXIV is die hard set on this game. And don't forget there are first time MMO players (some ps3 users) who are not used to the usual MMO launch day errors like some of us are. What makes you think those people, and most other people, are going to put up with errors like this for days on end?
They won't.
-
This stuff is amazing. Getting tossed in queue, then suddenly error 10102.
-
I just got the same thing. Error 90k while zoning out of Halatali, now getting 10102 whenever I try to log in. Last night when this happened the only point at which it got fixed was when the maintenance took all the servers down. :/

How about 3 days from now?
1- This is different, this is a new game entirely, while GW2 underwent its release issues for a period of 1 month, with 2 emerg maint. And 4 weekly maint. To resolve the issue. As well, they suspended sales of GW2 for 1.5-2 weeks to address these issues.
2- I won't need to, as the whiners will leave, and enrich the community. And I'm not white knighting, I'm just not letting my emotions control my argument. This is called maturity.
3- 3 days from now is nothing. Expect 1-2 weeks of issues of any launch. At least they are actively working on it.

Just to clarify.
New engine, new format, same title. Just because it shares a title, doesn't mean its the same game. Its hardly a relaunch.
As well, Wolves don't lose sleep, over the thoughts of sheep. If a review is from someone that doesn't understand that mmo's have launch issues, chances are they don't know much about MMO's. Anyone that herds themselves to their opinion isn't someone that would stick around in an MMO anyway. This isn't CoD. We tend to have a little more intelligence out here.
-
Anyones EU/NA servers not loading as of this time now??

I'm a legacy player as well, it only cost 18$. You are no more entitled to me. If you'll quit because launch isn't perfect, feel free to walk out the door. This isn't the same, and if you actually beta tested or played 1.0 since launch, you know full well, that this is no where near the same. A data center issue is something that can be worked on. Releasing a game that required a 12 step program just to access the main menu, and 6 steps to enter combat, are completely different issues.
