And... I think you can add some details in Sixth Astral Era....
The Hyur have come to be the most populous of the civilized races in Eorzea after their three great migratory waves.
:)
首先,让我介绍一下,FF14的历史是由第一Astral纪元(The First Astral Era)开始的,漂泊无居住的部族们来到Erozea, the Twelve(注:the Twelve在1.0的时候经常提到,理解为12神,即Halone, Menphina, Thaliak, Nymeia, Llymlaen, Oschon, Byregot, Rhalgr, Azeyma, Nald'thal, Nophica, Althyk。)
The Twelve时代
The Twelve的时代就是传说里the Twelve在Eorzea所居住的时代。
至于说那些四处漂泊的部族开始出现在Eorzea,只能是这三个种族:Elezen(精灵)、Lalafell(拉拉菲尔)和 Roegadyn(鲁嘉丁)。Miqo’te(米库特)和Hyur(修兰)来到Erozea的具体时间已给出。这(注:the Twelve)也可能是指原先的一个古老种族演变成了这三个种族之一,或者只是(几个)种族最后灭绝了。
_(:3√∠)_ I'm working hard on it.
I have a question about this. Is 1572 6AE the same year as zero year 7UE? or is it the year before?
I am trying to figure out whether 1572 is 5 or 6 years ago.
This. Thanks, thanks really ;)
I wonder what the actual elapsed Eorzean time is between updates? If we went on 90 RL days, 1.5 hrs=1 eorzaen day. 15 days=1 RL day. 1350 days, seems a bit too much. So pretty safe to asume thats not the case.
3 months passes between? Sounds more palatable than over 4 Eorzean years. Closest frame of reference to how much time passes in Eorzea is the development of Revs toll. So, it couldbe pretty safe to say 1 year has passed in Eorzea (imo). From launch to the present day, also taking into account festivels.
It's really hard, there's no real set time.
In the new Beastmen Questline it's mentioned that six moons have passed since various beastmen had been murdered, but it's hard to put that to a date since we don't currently know the time.
I really wished we had days of the week in-game.
One the game begins, time enters The Simpsons Bubble and stops moving in any logical way; this is because time can't progress to any degree that would make the game inconsistent for a player that's going to start in 2017. For established players, the imperial soldiers are all still just hanging around at the castrums even though their Legatus is dead, leaving it to us to say, "Well, I guess they just have nowhere else to go. The XIVth came here alone, after all, and Garlemald is now (we're told) in civil war!" That could be true, but it's also true that newer players just need them there for consistency.
Because of this, you can (probably) make the assumption that we will never leave the current year behind us officially. The 5th Year of the Seventh Umbral Era is (likely) just also known as The 1st Year of the Seventh Astral Era, and that's our bubble. You can play with the rules by going through time like FFXI did, but otherwise you're (generally) stuck with this limitation in the world lore. There's a little bit of relativity - a few turns of the sun here - a few turns of the moon there - but even if this game is out for another decade, we probably won't be seeing Maggie to high school (without time travel).
Based on the Five Ages, the eight days of the week are aspected towards the six elements and two polarities, and the list begins (like the months) at ice, so I've just been saying Iceday, Watersday, Windsday, Thundersday Firesday, Earthsday, Astralsday, Umbralsday - lol.
Usually I'm not one to delve into an MMORPG's lore too much, but the timeline has definitely piqued my interest. The effort and time put into it is much appreciated!
Updated with a couple of Little Ladies' Day lore bombs. The 3 blades of the founding Sultansworn were Curtana, Joyeuse, and Durandal. Given to them by the first Sultan Sasagan Ul Sisigan. Speculated that the founding Sultansworn were a Lalafell, a Hyur and a Roegadyn based on the dolls.
Suppose that makes it pretty easy to identify Jhal Tristram the True, lol.
Three copies of Oathkeeper, each given to the first Paladins. Tristram with Curtana, and now we know for sure Joyeuse and Durandal are the others.
Can't wait to see the others. This is a really well-made event.
Agreed and more Lore to come as more dolls are revealed. Balmung has the first of the Twin Bows revealed right now, hopefully the second comes soon. Odd to me since you don't really see Ul'dah using Archers.
Also I wonder if it's a connection or a coincidence for it to be a Lalafell, Roeg, and Hyur then we have Papashan, Solkzagyl, and Jenlyns.
I'm not entirely sure about that, actually. Story-wise, we're prepping to enter a city-state surrounded by optional quests that explain why they won't open their gates, which, one assumes, players will be able to complete even after Ishgard opens its gates.
Following Simpsons' logic, remnants of the Ishgardian and Dravanian factions will never truly stop fighting, persecution of heretics will continue unabated, and the Ascians can never be defeated because that would interfere with the SMN Job quests and that first set of EX Primal quests. And so on. It's shaping up to be a pretty uneventful expansion, isn't it?
Not sure if you did coils but you can put in the Year 0 what really happened to Bahumut.
They could do those quests the way FFXI did, where certain quests had different cutscenes depending on progress in other quests.
FFXIV 1.0-1.23b Story: A Retrospective
I think this is quite fitting here.
Thought I would be a little shameless and bump this for new and interested players in 3.0. As a sidenote I have a few dates I will be adding and will continue to be adding more in the future, I do not play to stop with this little project of mine.
Edit: Feel free to toss dates at me, it will help me out as things can be easily missable.
Bumping this thread to ask if we can get some updates on the timeline with regards to HW info?
This can be added: 1200 years ago there was a war between the coerthas predecessors and native dragons over space in central Alabathia. It ended with Shiva brokering peace and her people built all those ruins in Forelands and Churning Mists between then and Thordan's betrayal 1000 years ago.
Then there's Azys Lla. No solid evidence yet but it can be inferred that Tiamat was captured some time after Allag conquered Meracydia, but before Dalamud went up. Then there's the thing (dragon?) that broke free of its prison just under 3.7k years ago.
Correct chronology on the Allagan History would be closer to this, I think, all dates roughly 5000 years ago:
- Syrcus Tower completed at the peak of Allagan supremacy, empire begins to stagnate and decline
- Amon resurrects the first emperor, Xande, who begins a massive new campaign to restore the glory of the empire
- Bahamut slain
- Bahamut summoned as primal by Tiamat
- primal Bahamut defeated by Omega, imprisoned
- Meracydia conquered, Tiamat imprisoned
- Dalamud completed to house primal Bahamut
- revolutionaries march on Syrcus Tower
- error in Dalamud energy link calculations triggers a release of energy from Syrcus Tower, ending the Third Astral Era
Unfortunately, while we do have exact times for much of the happenings on Azys Lla, we don't know where the other events fit around them.
I don't get who the unknown dragon that escaped from Azys Lla is or why the Dragon was they at Azys Lla.
