Would be awesome if Rammstein were at the beaches in La Noscea. Everything else looks amazing and I can't wait to explore it with my 1.0 characters.

Sorry for being such a negative nancy :p
but the video is kinda bad quality; which makes it unprofessional.
they should have tried to optimize graphic settings a bit, to get closer to 60FPS.
Cause PS3 is 720, not 1080 :) would look weird if PC version was 1080, and PS3 was 720 (in the trailer)
really? it's very choppy.
I mostly played on budget cards, and generally played most games in 20-30FPS, and this video looked as crappy, or worse than that.
try pausing the vid, while PS3 clips are rotating cam:

The PS3 Astalicia/Bismark part is kinda low FPS....maybe you should look at some 60fps videos, and then look at the trailer again :)
If there was any doubt left that Limsa Lominsa/La Noscea would be the best areas, it's gone. A built in tropical getaway, FFXI crabs, waterfalls, water temples, BEACH CHAIRS, bikinis, bright blue waters and skies.
Yeah... have fun playing in the forests and the deserts. I'm going tropical!
That's an interlacing issue, not a framerate issue. It has nothing to do with performance, but simply with the capture card/interlacing used to capture and encode the video.
The large difference in video quality between PC and PS3 is that capturing PC is just a matter of software, and can be captured directly. PS3 needs to pass via a capture card, with an inevitable loss in quality.
Add to that the fact that youtube has a LARGE problem with videos that include variable framerate (and moving between PC and PS3 the framerate does vary, because PS3 is limited to 30fps) and there's your problem.
*Jaws drop @Highbridge and Odin sighting*
PS3's still be optimized though.
I've watched this about 15 times now. Man..
I also thought Odin would be slightly bigger.
You really can't make quality judgements by this video. In general, YouTube compresses them to a muddy mess. Also, the artifacts posted above sometimes are on both PC and PS3, and sometimes not even on PS3. Here's 2 pan frames from each and you can see what I mean. And every frame throughout those pans was equally double-imaged. Only the speed of the pan changes the distance between double images.
It means "You need to stop trying to find reasons to troll everyone and act like you know what you're talking about"
You clearly don't.
If you think there is no lag in that video you are deluding yourself.
Anything under 30 fps shows visible lag.
To me that is unplayable and it also exacerbates issues, people have with motion sickness.
lol, hey geuss what guys. odin is actual size.
Apparently I'm not the one that doesn't know what he's talking about here.
Actually it's 25, and there's no measurable framerate drop in the video.Quote:

What is unplayable "to you" is irrelevant. Unplayable is an objective, absolute term that doesn't mean what you think it means.Quote:

I can't get over how awesome everything looks from that video! Every time I watch it I keep noticing things I didn't notice before.
And the music is just freaking incredible! The thanalan area with the long bridge and the music that plays with it(not saying that's the official music for that area) is gorgeous O_O
Ugh..
I hope you have a ps3 and play on it.
After you realize how right I am, please come back and tell everyone how you really have no clue..
Measurable frame rate drops? lol you have eyes right?
You're not using these forums with braille are you?
Can you not SEE the lag with your own eyes?
Tell me that when they compare the video, you do not see how choppy it gets.
If you can say it does not start lagging, then you are either blind or you are one of those liars, who will scream how great everything is, even when it's not.
Which means you are like some of the people, who were the reason we ended up with FFXIV 1.0..
I could come in here talking about engineering "which I do for a living" and you would try to act like you know it better than I do.
It's what you always do.
"ACT" like you know what you are talking about..
You don't, at all..
It lags..
Period..
Will they add swimming features in the future ?? would love to swim at the beach in the bikini i got :D
I swear some people don't understand the concept of optimization and how the PS3 version is clearly not fully optimized.
You seem mad.
Come back to me when you have a PS3 version running on a PS3 and you can actually measure the frame rate. Anyone that dabbles with youtube knows that it's not a valid representation of framerate, especially when variable framerates are involved, Mr. Engineer :D
The world does have a larger more diverse feel to it in the tour. Seeing the flaming red haired highlander girl was cool. Everything looks grander than it did before.
I'm not expecting a big change to occur at this stage to be honest. Similar games like dragon's dogma have the same fps issues that we saw in the video. And honestly dragon's dogma didn't look as good as ARR and it also doesn't have a world filled with thousands of players wandering the same map. Basically, compared to the pc version it looks less smooth. But compared to other similar PS3 titles, it looks WAY better.
Unfortunately those are the limits of a PS3 version.
Sigh.. Man. I am really starting to get beat down with these responses. The PS3 isn't even done being optimized yet and even when it is it still won't look as good as the PC version.
On another note! I'm pretty sure I'm responsible for the 100,000 views out of the 110,000 on there xD
I'm not beating down the PS3 version. I'm actually defending it but also mentioning that people need to be realistic. My point was to simply say that the PS3 version will never look as good and smooth as the pc version. But the PS3 version still beat any other game that resembles it on that console(example: Dragon's dogma, Dark Souls). While also mentioning not to expect the game to run that smooth, even with the adjusted graphics settings for the PS3.
Thinking otherwise will likely lead to dissapointment. Although I really hope that S-E pull some crazy miracle and prove me wrong but I'm not expecting it.
You hit the nail on the head.
The PS3 version is certainly beautiful, especially when compared to other games on the system. But I don't think it's going to be as beautiful as the PC version. Even most low-end PCs can run games prettier than consoles. But I doubt it should matter. Both versions are going to be awesome.
I think the PS3 version looks freaking great for being on the PS3!!! That being said I really hope the PS3 version doesn't look as good on the PS3 as on the PC. Cause I bought a PS3 brand new for $150. My PC cost me $5,200. If a $150 PS3 could do the exact same thing my PC can do well, i'd be one sad panda.
