Hello. Welcome to Speculation.

SCH files have been found in dats. The cycle of roles in that image are ALL of the jobs, why would they put ACN in there? The gear it's wearing is obviously SCH gear, and you'd know that by looking at SCH from any other FF game it's in. The gear that it's wearing in the OP image isn't found in-game that we know of yet, and as far as we're aware classes don't get AF yet, except for DoL/H.

Why're you being so hard-done by? We're aware that it may be ACN, we're just drawing conclusions based on what we know. If you don't like being a part of this conversation then why are you still here...?

Okies, 'magic sticks' - radicals/staffs & sceptres/wands
'books' - grimoires (which is what arcanists use) & (most likely) tomes, if you go by the FFXI SCH weapon name.

Different names, but they look the same, like the 1h and 2h WHM/BLM weapons.

I really do not understand why you do not see the below 3 ways:
1. both SMN and SCH come out of the same class ARN (probably not gonna be so)
2. ARN got a different weapon and SCH gets books
3. as you distinguish between wands and staffs, you could distinguish between tomes and some other type of book, so that SCH gets one, ARN the other

There are many possibilities for a Scholar to be implemented and for it to use book-like weapons. imho.

That was compiled from 1.0 beta dats. I first looked at it in August 2010.

If that is a Scholar then it's probably a sneak peak or hint at a second job from the same class. (In this case Arcanist having Summoner and Scholar) If not it's probably just an Arcanist. I don't see them having another book class, when that weapon is niche enough as it is.

I always wondered what Shepard would have turned out like.

Yeah, but those dats WERE important if the whole game hadn't needed to have been completely redone, so SCH dats in the ARR files is a completely different story than the 1.0 Alpha dats.

I'm excited for Green Mage, if that is what it is =b I thought the same when I saw it

Yoshi said he's considering adding Shepherd because some people were complaining that they had to kill mobs for hides/wool. Which is pretty silly anyway, you can't harvest skin from live animals >.>

That's a valid opinion about them moving ACN to the front, and it had crossed my mind, too. I just don't think it belongs there. But whatever; we'll see what happens in the next couple of days! =D

Yeah, I wouldn't go there xD I was arguing there when it first started and it went to 103 pages in about an hour, so stopped after that... it's too big now, and it's just the same 3 points over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

It's probably just Arcanist. Being that they said they're not even sure if Summoner will be ready for release, I doubt they have any large bombshells to drop on us at this point. It could be a teaser for a class released after launch, but I wouldn't expect it to be in at retail.

I was already on the fence, but I really can't refute this argument. Unless the dev team has been playing a rediculously long con on SCH, I just don't see how it's feasible for it to be a release day Job (though I certainly don't discount the possiblity of a first patch Job).

They said that SMN will make it in now, but that's not what they were saying a few months ago. As I said, for SCH to be a release day Job, SE would have been having to play the long con since virtually 1.0 shut down.

The ONLY reason SMN was announced was because somebody leaked it onto the site and loads of people saw it before they took it back down again. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a few classes lined up for release that they haven't told us about yet.

I want this so bad =$ I hope it's a proper buff/healer job... if not then people are going to run our of CNJs to level with pretty fast!

The difference, as I see it, is that with Dalamud, we never knew what was in it, nor did they say one way or the other. With SMN, they have flat out announced things about it (including the fact that they weren't sure [at that time] if it was going to make it to release). Now, if they were sitting on SCH that whole time quite a bit of that information was misleading at best, an outright lie at worst. I'd say the two instances have notable differences.

That being said, I do not deny that that picture has a SCH in it, because it undeniably does. I just don't know if it's feasible to expect SCH as a release day Job.

Mark my words that's a SCH. What it all means, I don't know.

If i remember right that was found during alpha/beta of 1.0 so you can't really go by that. I was so happy when i saw samurai on that list back then.

Maybe because every existing archetype in the front wheel is a job.
As for the two other characters, one is clearly a summoner, with the horn, and the other is open to speculation.

The only claim that she is an arcanist is the book in her hand. Books were announced to be wielded by arcanist and summoner, but, strangely, the SMN in this picture doesn't have any weapon.

Maybe they changed their mind about that, since, never before, SMN wielded books, whereas SCH did every time it appeared.
And you can't overlook the fact that the last character clearly wears SCH AF from FFXI.

Yeah, right now the job system is not built to support multiple jobs per class. If they wanted to go this direction they would have needed to change how it worked at it's core. Right now jobs are too tied into the class they start with for them to be able to wedge multiple jobs into a given class.

Though I would point out that a class can play all the way to 50 before unlocking it's job counterpart, but it isn't that big a deal in the current system because the job doesn't really change the role of the class much.

I agree that trying to shoe horn multiple jobs on classes as they are now would be bad, for many different reasons.

Could be books = Arcanist/Summoner and Tomes = ????/Scholar cus that looks like scholar AF.

Just like WHM and BLM have essentially 2 and 1 handed wands but they are named different for each class... Crooks, Etc

I doubt SCH would come from arcanist. Plus I really hope they dont do that 2 jobs from 1 class thing, so dumb.
