Can we expect to see real (meaning not hovering) flying mounts, at any point in the life of the game?
Can we expect to see real (meaning not hovering) flying mounts, at any point in the life of the game?
Sometime during previous letters it was mentioned that some fans thought the races weren't unique enough, or had enough differences etc. There was a response that mentioned the different races would stand out from each other a bit more in version 2.0.
Would you be able to give us any examples of how the races will differ more from each other in version 2.0 than they did in version 1.0?
It was mentioned that the attributes for each character created will be slightly different based on which race/clan is chosen. It was also mentioned that the attributes wouldn't vary much between races.
Is the difference in starting attributes going to be limited to the small difference when creating a character, or will the differences become more pronounced as a player levels up?
If we are new to the game, don't know anyone, and would like to meet people and make friends ... where would be the best place in the game, content in the game, or user interface feature to be/do/use in order to find similar players (looking for in-game friends) ?
What are your plans for allowing 1.0 characters to change their name and looks? You have addressed server changes, but not this.
Can we see the PS3 version in action during the live letter?
If a person plans to play between the PS3 and PC version, when an expansion comes out, will they have to buy the expansion for both systems? or just one to get the unlock code?
Can you show us what the proto-primals will look like for Summoner?
Will the marriage quest be implemented at launch?
In 1.0 instances were "too hard" for random groups to do...are there any plans to make dungeons in 2.0 challenging, but still do-able with random PUGs(Pick up groups) with the content finder?
When will we have complete details about the timing and server assignment/selection/placement of our 1.0 characters? Including server names of servers and method of selection, etc.
What are some other planned mounts? (Other than the Couerl, Goobbue; is Ahriman still planned? Various colored chocobos? other mobs?)
This still has not been answered, will we see 2 Handed Swords at any time in the future? This is my favorite weapon in any Final Fantasy.
Since we will be getting a new UI for the gamepad, will we see a UI change for gathering? Looking at the alpha video it appears you just gather using a list format. So I assume that if a player wants to gather using a gamepad, a icon (probably like a hand or something) will appear over the item and the player would have to select an item from the list. Personally that is fine for a short term gatherer, but for people who gather straight for a long period of time, I would imagine that they would get tired of having to scroll through a list to gather for a particular item. Would it possible to have a new UI for the gathering system that doesn't force having to scroll down a list each time?
I believe airships were mentioned awhile back, can you go into any more detail about them? I think they would be great if they were huge investments like housing and possibly craftable but by a team or someone good at a lot of crafts. Airship battles or pvp? Huge ships with busy crew and small ship options?
Can we have any details about the Beastmen who will be summoning Shiva?
Can we have some detailed specifics on the loot / reward system in ARR
+ How will need rolls be allotted? for example:-
- will players have a weekly allowance?
- will need rolls be restricted to the job you enter content on? or
- will there be any kind of level check. where players can need roll any item there charcater meets the level requirement for regardless of current class?
+ Token system for example:-
- Will tokens be granted for wins? or only lost need rolls?
- Will tokens be exchangable for main drops? (i.e garuda system in 1.23)
- will tokens be restricted to lesser drops?
- how will guaranteed drops work? will they all be equal? or some rarer than others. (i.e militia tights vs militia cuirass in aleport)
How will content finder be impacted with this system. for example content finder and groups in general are notoriously always waiting long times for tanks / healers. will players be able to play these rolls and still roll on items they want for an alternate class.
Throughout 1.0 the big plea for a token system was for players to have a back up and be assured some amount of progress. a system where players were assured to reach there goal eventually. for example if i've speed ran av 99 times and still not got my darklight corselet. I could see that the next run would give me my hundreth token or something and i could finally get a piece that corselet. thus always making a visible amount of progress no matter how small. garuda would be a perfect example of this.
however in one of the translations regarding loot some months ago there were two versions circling the forums one said tokens could be exchanged for gear. the other said tokens could be exchanged for lesser gear. and it caused alot of confusion and concern. players were wanting some degree of visible progress to specific goals. for me it may be item x. for you it may be item y. does the token system provide this.
In Short:-
Could we finally get some specifics on the loot system and clear things up a bit.
You showed a lot of minions in the last letter. Will we also see a wyvern minion, like the ones Dragoons used to have as a pet in FFXI?
Will you put in more beard options for Lalafells? I want mine to have the same options as other males!
Can you give us details about the collector editions of A Realm Reborn?
Will it still rain in the cities like in 1.0? I loved that change of atmosphere, it gave the feeling of a moving world, alive.
Roughly how many hours of gameplay would it take to to level a class from 1 to 50?
Can you please give a list of content you plan to have included for ARR when it goes live? (IE: Crystal tower, Great Labyrinth, How many primal fights, etc)
Can you please give a list of content you would like to see ready by the first major update? (IE: PvP, Housing, Golden saucer, etc)
Power leveling (PLing) got a little out of hand at times during 1.0, to the point that people were claiming to be able to max a combat class in an afternoon of constant PLing. Are there any plans to address PLing and if so can you tell us how you are planning to do it?
Can we see video of different skills, maybe some hints at what you what direction you are taking each class? Would love to see more information about the jobs to see some of the changes being planned. More details about combat in general would be great.
Can you tell me more about your ideas or intentions for a Gunblade Class?
Can you share more on how the Limit Break system will work?
Will there be a separate bar to monitor progress to use it?
Do all party members need to achieve a certain criteria to launch it since it is a party attack?
Or can it be used if only 1 party member has achieved a certain criteria?
Will there ever be Jobs for the crafting classes? Like having a blacksmith become a sword smith or armorer? Make them more specialized in a particular area so they can make epic stuff.
Will there be a "Story Trailer", a trailer focused on the games story and shows in-game footage of some cutscenes?
Can you explain more about the user made Add-on's and what players can make?
Will you still be able to use the keyboard to chat with the PS3 or is the PS3 all controller only?
I saw on the new Game Informer that SE is making THIEF a new next gen remake of a classic. Can we expect the ARR thief to be somewhat similar.
Do you have box art ready for hardcopies, can we have a sneak peek?
Can you tell us a bit how the quest "A Relic Reborn" will change in ARR as opposed to 1.0?
Are there plans to add any victory poses at the end of dungeons or an emote with a victory pose that is class/job specific?
Similar to what happened when you defeated a boss in FFXII. Maybe not a separate cut-scene, but a simple pose all the players do after the last boss is defeated. Short and sweet.
Will many mobs differentiate the way they may have to be fought in stats, such as physical defense, magic defense, Elements, or even being immune to anything?
After you finish the PS3 version you said going to the PS4 is a
possibility, will the Wii U be an interest for you?
Would it be possible to implement in-town FATE (lost child, dropped cargo, ect.) or crafting/gathering FATE?
Will those that bought the original FFXIV collector's edition get the in-game items associated with the new collector's edition?
Will trains, boats, and airships be handled in realtime like XI and some of maplestory (I love them in real time, the snap to next area in 1.0 was sad :( )
