What's unique about FFXIV:ARR?

You don't get it do you? People do not like change, as much as they deny it, we love to find a branch with bananas like a monkey would. And as long as the bananas don't run out, they see no reason to change. This is a mentality, a cultural problem. Were new, unique, innovative, are concepts, but when you get down to it, and start implementing people do a 180 and "why fix what worked 150 years ago?" is on the lips.

It's the same, no matter were you look, any industry. My job for example is a link in the chain from start to finish 15 links exist to get the product out. With the tech we can upgrade to from 15 we can cut the links to 5. Will we? No. Should we? no question about it yes. Same with gaming, can they stand apart from the crowd fighting for pie? Yes. Will they? No, because then you get none of the pie.

Vanity slots will be for players who find a particular gear set that they find appealing that don't have the stats of their top tier gear. Like using AF gear in their vanity slots, while wearing something else that offers better stats. It has nothing to do with the overall appearance of most of the gear that is 'realistic' as I put it, when it comes to actual protection. One of the only exceptions to this would probably be the Colosseum gear that they had released. Beside that, every piece of gear I remember coming across offered good coverage that didn't make characters come off as sluts/clowns, while still maintaining an elegance/finesse about them. Most of them anyway. At least a lot more than pretty much every other mmo I've played.

Find me a screenshot of someone who looked like a clown or a slut in 1.0 without using the Colosseum gear.

I also forgot, >>this<< is what also kept me in 1.x and what will help me stay attached to this game for 2.0. Because I know there will be a ton more adventures ahead of me that tend to stand above other mmo's :3
