Yeah, it's more inline with how FF games should look. Aside PS3 issues present that's also likely compression problems on PS3 footage (recording console gameplay can be touchy) I'm waiting to see how they handle the gameplay, since as people typically say on these forums: Graphics aren't everything. If they can make ARR actually standout gameplay wise rather than it feeling like the same old routine we're getting used to in MMOs these days it'd definitely be the FFXIV they wanted to get out the first time.

Hunting Log
Able to craft multiple items in one synth
Chocobo Fighting (incoming PETA attack)
Reputation System

Wonder if the PvP zone will be something akin to Wintergrasp in WoW?

Yeah I agree. Graphics, world, sound/music, the overall "feeling" while watching these videos/benchmark are definitely FF-esque, but I'm still hoping that ARR won't be this solo rush to end-game littered with 50,000 random trash gear drops from random mobs, etc. I also hope there's a lot of group-collaboration-oriented gameplay that isn't just saved for end-game; I consider open-world events or linear dungeons that simply involve throwing bodies who are rolling their faces across keyboards as being the furthest from any sort of meaningful group-oriented, collaborative gameplay. I sincerely hope after playing ARR once all content is released that I can look back at any doubts I might have had and chuckle at them with my friends.

Looks great, Thanalan is awesome :D - I like how everything has become much closer to the concept art.

Agreed, the world looks beautiful. Hats off to Yoshi P and the whole team. Here's hoping that combat and gameplay are equally as impressive!

My only complain is the shitty PS3 framerate. But that was to be expected, I guess? (Also, there's still a chance it'll be improved before launch)

Other than that, it looks smashin'! Can't wait!

If i see things right, they are running through the same area as in alpha video...so that *beyond colossal* Adamantoise...should be trampling right through Bentbranch....or just swallow the whole town in one go....

OMG! It looks so much better! we'll see how gamplay is during beta, but the look is so much more exciting. Nice improvement from 1.0 on the location designs!

I'm pretty sure they just added loads of random NMs into the location to advertise them and make the video action-packed; running through multiple fights instead of skipping from one area to the next to show small NM fights =)

I don't know what you mean... These videos affect the entirety of the game, not just Beta.

Just the automaton. It was in 1.0 as well. The person in front of him appears to be some kind of Crafter in their class specific gear.

Didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if anyone else pointed this out but the lala in the gamepad video was not backpedaling when Yoshi was moving him backward. <3

O....M....G...... The game just looks soooo damn good. As someone said it reminds me of FF11 n 12 as well. Everything is smooth and looks to be almost no lag on things. Excitement just blew the roof off my house lol.

Armorer as it is an exact match to the concept design. If you notice many craft sets are present through out the vid but only a botanist is shown in LL spots and he has a badass looking hatchet if I do say so myself.
