During 1.0 there were complains Gridania's map was too big or complicated, so SE is probably making the map smaller and easier to navigate to appease this issue. We can't have it both ways!

Not sure if this question is breaking the NDA, since it seems this could be perceived as Alpha related content.

I have mentioned many times in this thread how duplicate questions need not be identical in their word choice. Also, I never said It was up to me to decide if something has been covered in enough detail or not. As far as reminding people to read the thread before posting their question - I did that IN THAT THREAD and people continue to post duplicate questions hich only leads to one conclusion: people aren't reading previous psots to begin with. Also, I don't know why It wouldn't be my call to suggest whether someone's question is redundant - after all it's my opinion and mine alone, i'm not forcing it on anyone, and we are all having a perfect discussion over that in this thread. Good talk.

The 'wording' can change the entire basis of the question.. My point only was that your interpretation of questions that you feel are similar is not the same as everyone elses. Therefore your OP listing all the questions you THINK are duplicates is pointless, other than to pass some time, in which case if that was your only purpose.. kudos.

Hmmm are you serious about the answers to the questions thread? I know I would find it helpful. The original Dev question thread is already a bit....messy. If not that is OK too. That is an awful lot to ask. Links are always good too. In fact I like those better, so I can sift thru them at my leisure.

Nah, I'm not confused about why people are referring o this as a troll thread. I unerstand that it is human nature to automatically lash out in defense at what is percieved as an offensive act. It is also common to displace blame onto the bearer of bad news so as to make oneself seam less eroneous.

Somewhat true, although that doesn't take away from it indeed being an 'offensive act' to some (in particular those who you claimed were duplicating questions, when from their perspective [and perhaps others..] it was an entirely different question). And that second part doesn't even apply here as you aren't 'bearing any bad news' nor did anyone blame you for anything (well, except for maybe trolling, but I don't think that was your intent).

I don't see how expressing my opinion is an offensive act.

If someone has the right to claim that my opinion (that their question is a duplicate) is offending them, then I reserve the right to claim that their opinion (that their question isn't a duplicate) is offending me -on the basis of equality. For are we not equal in opinion?

Right. As I said, some will take your opinion offensively. You are of course entitled to your opinion, as are they. I was simply agreeing that some ppl will lash out when they feel they've been offended, ie referring to this as a troll thread when it's pretty clear that wasn't your intent.

Yeah that is a secondary problem, I'm tempted to make a post answering those questions to the best of my knowledge using dev post quotes but that might take more time and motivation than I currently have.

Just because many of the questions are the same topic, doesn't mean they are duplicate and should be disregarded. Ultimately SE will be the ones to decide what is important enough to answer and what they have answers for. They certainly don't need this thread or your self-appointed importance to direct them to applicable questions. You are not helping anything, or being constructive. If people want to ask their question let them ask their question, it's really not a big deal. I think SE can figure it out themselves.

You might be right about me needing to find something better to do with my time, however under no pretext do I think that I am policing the thread nor did I ever say SE needed me. On that note, I never said I was important, quite the contrary I said I was a meager speck upon a speck ad infinum.

Ultimately SE will be the ones to decide which questions are important, you are entirely right on that note. They may not need this thread, but that doesn't mean I am not helping or being constructive -quite the contrary. And if asking repeated questions is not a big deal then the OP wouldn't have asked for them not to be repeated. This thread is just a reminder and you sir are shooting the rhetorical messenger.

You can think I'm a dbag all you want but that doesn't make it true. It would be more helpful to answer the questions that already been asked for player's who don't know the answer to their question which has been responded to already by the devs in my opinion. Sure people should search the forums or check out the live events but let’s be honest here people will not do that if they can get a quick responds to their question beside doing a search for it or watching a 1hr+ video in subtitle’s they will do that instead.

Whenever they have stuff like this, wish there is a way like create a new thread with all the questions and someone nice enough to summarize and put questions of same category together then post in the official question thread or something.

Some questions are different although it sounds the same so those need to be carefully read.

Remember that when there are two separate posts for one question, each of them are also likely to get less likes than if they were combined into one (as extra posts cause people to skip reading the previously posted questions and liking them). This means the question is also less likely to get answered and that's why it's more useful to like a previously posted question instead of repeating it.

Maybe the people who have posted two very similar questions could combine their questions into one and remove the extra one?

You really don't have to specifically say the words to imply them completely with your post. There is also perception to take into account. My opinion wasn't changed because of what you specifically said, but how I perceived what you said, your underlying tone, and the lack of necessity of it all.

Yeah there's going to be multiple questions. I'm sure some people saw "submit question here" and clicked that and just posted without reading anything.. and by not reading anything I mean absolutely nothing. Not even what they posted.

The more I think about it, the more I would rather they had just given us a set of 15-20 catagories and asked us which ones we wanted to hear the most about, instead of taking specific questions. It may just be showmanship, but I'd rather the showmanship of a well made, pre-scripted demonstration on these live letters than the more random Q&A format.

As long as they let us pick what topics we're most interested in, we would end up getting more information overall, since they won't feel obligated to answer super specific questions like some that I've seen on that thread already. Not to mention, the more open-ended the questions are, the more likely it is that they will tell us more (by accident or on purpose).

By the way, you need to go through you "duplicate" questions again and revise them. Some questions might be related in there theme (category) but ask two completely different questions.

One asks how GATHERING will work, the other asks hwo LEVELING will work, and what are the BENEFITS.

The weather question are two different questions. One asks if there will be dynamic weather, the other asks if weather will effect the environment

The spirit bind questions ask for more DETAIL of the system, the other asks WHY they want to do it.

The people who are curious about level sync, one ask IS THERE LEVEL SYNC. The other asks HOW will it work.

The loot questions one asks HOW the NEED/GREED system works, the other asks how TOKENS will work.

you see the difference? They may share the same theme but the context of the questions are unique.

As many have stated throughout this thread, most of the OP's quoted questions are not duplicates. This thread is a fine example of how horrid some people's reading comprehension can be, and how far they will take that misguided notion of understanding. Opinions are much different from reading comprehension, which you seem to lack if based off the OP.

Okay, these need to stop. Whether the OP really means well or is actually trolling, or is trying to be a "Question Nazi", these "Don't ask these questions, because they were asked before" threads are doing way more harm than good. I mean, really, if the devs don't want certain questions asked, they could just as easily make a thread themselves about questions they will not be answering or will not be elaborating on. And, again no offense to the OP, I think they'd do it with a lot more... finesse. I really don't think the upcoming Q&A needs a pre-Q&A director, especially a user on the forums. If the directors want to answer a question, they will. If they don't, they won't. Call me a bit overly-faithful in the question answering abilities of the devs, but I think they can handle this. lol
