I use my 2nd monitor for porn.
While a nice idea, I think most would use the other screen for their web guides/ chat programs/ music/ movies while crafting and so forth.
Also I much prefer to not have a map all the time because it encourages me as a player to look at my surroundings and learn little landmarks so that I can travel without a map all the time.
I would like to see a little bit of what Wolfie was saying.
I want to see irregular desktop sizes and a choice to extend the view or just extend the window more.
If you just extended the window you can have a space to place maps and chat. And still have a little room for a browser at the same time.
I'd be cool with a phone app from Square Enix that I could pull up info outside the game, find out information and figure out what I will do next when I log back in! Look at the Auction house etc. This could be done while playing the game as well.
I'd much rather have this as an option than actual game functionality for a 2nd monitor. :D To me it's so much more useful!
God yes ! Make it happen !
man, count me in on this.
I believe this is already on the cards.. But yes of course it would be more "useful" to someone like yourself that doesn't have a dual monitor setup..
But to those of us who do...

lol oh I have dual monitors. I find it more useful for wiki's, skype, vent etc. with XIV's current setup. However I'd like whats being suggested for dual monitors in this thread as well.
I'm just being a Debbie downer as history (as far as other game developers go). This is something that often gets overlooked because they think it would not benefit enough people to be worth the development effort.
But make this thread explode in interest and prove them wrong! :D
Looked at that curved monitor specs....265mm thickness?
What decade are those designers living in?! This is no longer the CRT era...
I'll wait another couple years for my cheap <30mm thick OLED displays.
