It further occurs to me that SE are happy to run competitions [almost] completely worldwide when there are no physical prizes involved. So it must be something about the physical prizes that is making things more complicated for them. Such prizes have a monetary value by the very fact that they are manufactured goods. And they have postage costs.

And we are also talking about a company who genuinely thought its billing system was adequate until the player base forcibly demonstrated it was not by a reduction in subscriptions to XI when it came into effect.
I would imagine that the legal team is just as outside of Yoshida's jurisdiction as the accounting team was, so this could take a while.

I'm in Colombia, that land down in South America that is just a jungle as far as most online services are concerned. I'm surprised I was even able to sign up for this game with a Colombian card (couldn't with XI).

I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to submit it as an entry as if it was their own work, especially with it being so well known. And if someone had plagiarized her work, you can report it. The sharing of it in this thread is harmless admiration, don't sweat ;), everyone knows who made it!

I assume she is not submitting the one from last years thread for this contest and your removing your current submission? It was an awesome sculpture but unfortunately it seems to clearly violate the rules.

I can't wait to see what she has in store if she does something new for the contest.

I can't see how Abadon would NOT win. But then I almost wonder if it'll count when it's his girlfriend's sculpture.

I finally got the chocobo posted. I retouched the paint on the chocobo and took this pic with his little moogle buddy. Not sure if this is enough to get around the "created for contest" rule, but I would also like to note that this is a one-of-a-kind piece and created completely out of affection for final fantasy, not as a commision or production piece. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

I was only able to do a pencil drawing and I was going through moving so I couldn't ink it in time to submit it. I wish I could do a color version as well but alas I lack the software to color besides the Paint software.

$1000 tablet @_@... I just use wacom bamboo medium XD I'd like a large but I wouldn't be able to fit it on my desk! haha

Photoshop is loooovely for painting but I swear by easy paint tool SAI for sketching and lineart, you can even save your project as .PSD and import into photoshop for coloring and effects >:3

Edit - and having a slider for canvas angle and zoom is so amazing, I wish photoshop had those ;~; haha

It's the cheapest tablet that I want, it shows what your drawing on the tablet instead of looking at the computer monitor. I don't really do well without looking at what I'm doing and to know where I'm starting at.

I'm just used to using Photoshop when I was in school. I just wish it was cheaper. But alas I won't get my own computer for a couple of years now I just have to keep my drawing up.

These days, instead of getting a Wacom Cintiq, a lot of artists seem to get the Samsung Galaxy note with a Wacom bamboo stylus pen, It will still be a hefty price but not as bad as an actual Cintiq. I got another android tablet and the drawing apps you can buy are pretty neat. The hard part is finding a suitable stylus.

:o I've honestly never had that problem with the wacom, I wanted a cintiq so bad but I have to /really/ look at what I'm doing up-close since my eyes are so bad. When I draw I lean in pretty close to the monitor so I can see every detail clearly (even while zoomed in haha), I could never do that con a cintiq, I'd get killer neck ache lol.

You can totally tell where you're starting at on a wacom, if you hover the pen over the worksurface, the mouse pointer moves (sorcery, I tell you!).

Although a cintique (i'm assuming) is amazing, you can live without it and just get the wacom bamboo/intuos. If the problem is that you have to look at what your drawing, try doing some practice sketches of random things but try to look at the object while your drawing. Once you get the muscle feeling down, you'll find that using the tablet(not cintique) is just way easier than the low-tech sketch practice you were just doing.

Pretty much this D:, it's a little shaky to begin with but you'll be so surprised at how the feeling is just so natural after a very short time.

I loved manga studio but I honestly can't stress enough how amazing the lineart tools are in easy paint tool sai lol Q_Q, it's only like a 100mb download I think, if that? check eet out, I implore youuuu!

Paint Tool Sai's Line art and watercolor effects are amazing, but the program is not worth the $60. The program really should be a lot cheaper for just handing out 1 code.
