That's not at all how it was during my stay there in September o_O Sure, there were people and lots of tourists but no crowds that would make me uncomfortable or panic D:

Good piece of information, can't wait till they open beta phase, to dip my claws in that piece of meat ;)
On the other hand, I'm a bit unsure if there will be additional payments for more than 1 character ... let's hope not.

That footage was taken from the Japanese version. Japanese title added must be new for beta, but yeah, would be nice to keep it.

Great info, happy to see the new character models. Next couple months are going to go by very quick for me because work is sending me to all sorts of different countries. When I'm finally done hopefully release will be right around the corner!

I personally was glad to hear news on some music changes. I am curious what they do with the music. I enjoyed the new Gridania theme, but I strongly feel certain songs should stay the same. Something they could do, is make "Old Gridania" play the 1.0 theme, while "Gridania" could play the ARR theme. Either way I still have 100% trust in the FFXIV team.

I'm definitely going to play different races in phase 1&2 if I indeed receive an invite. As for phase 3 though I know I'll be glad to get my character back.

Lalafell tanking will always be good for a laugh though, just because of their size! But people play them for the irony, NO? lol

I would have loved to have hear their dinner conversation they had with the Ultima Online developers talking about the MMO industry. I know they are fans of FF, but to hear their point of view about the tremendous risk SE is putting in XIV and trying to make it a success would be an interesting conversation to listen to!

If it's referring to the BGM on the title screen, this is a welcome change. The Alpha Clients BGM start off with a chorus as loud as all get out, and then got fairly quiet to normal loudness. Hopefully the new BGM is a more steady decibel and you won't get ear raped as soon as you log in. Thank god for the mute button on my keyboard.

haha Yoshida really wants the game to be successful. He dropped 10k Yen into the offering box, that's like 110 bucks and change :D

The whole MMO industry is watching SE because what they are trying has never been attempted before, normally if a MMO fails they pull the plug or go f2p, if SE can revive 14 and make it a success we may see people doing this a lot more.
