It's going to be Benchmark and Beta sign up i don't know why people keep thinking they wont be release together. You been the benchmark so people know if the game would run on there computer or not. FFXIV 1.0 beta sign up was release with benchmark so i'm guess that what going to happen.

+ the beta sign up are not that important seeing how legacy members get in beta 1 so they have more then enough players to test the beta.

This appears to have been an effective teaser.

People keep saying this but he only said Legacy players will be considered for Beta. Not that they would automatically be included. Just because you are Legacy does not mean you can get into Beta. SE still has their selection procedure in place and will choose whom they will.

I suspect Beta acceptance e-mails will go out midnight PST and the Beta-Tester site will open. However, this is a week earlier than I expected if it happens.

Says Legacy + Beta Application Testers can participate from Phase 1, I don't really see anything about Legacy being auto in every other beta.

So even Legacy holders must have a current account AND be selected by screening process.

Although the reference is in Japanese, it basically says that Jan 7 is the opening of the Beta Test and Testers are being selected for the test. (I am not that good with Japanese.)

I'm not particularly waiting, just not getting to sleep as i would desire.

I forgot about that benchmark, would be a nice bonus for the day. But prolly just Beta Applications and maybe some teaser information.

-It isn't the opening or selection of the Beta Test as stated above, because they have clearly stated that will not occur until mid-February and they haven't even started the application process.
-More than likely the 2nd benchmark will be brought out between Closed Beta and Open Beta.
-Whatever it is don't expect it until after 5pm in Japan or later, that's been the norm since the very beginning.

I 'wish' they could set up some teasers for Collector's Edition possibilities even though there obviously would be no release date attached to it. Tired of not being able to pre-prder CE LOL
