There are alpha forums?

Honestly, I kind of feel bad for Virgal. His complete disregard for the development cycle, the NDA, and the English language have overshadowed any valid points he may have had.
Alpha is a four letter word in these 'ere forums.
we can discuss about infos SE gave us. The existence of an alpha forum is one of these infos.
Quote:
The Alpha Test will begin with limited hours of operation that will increase with each phase. A detailed test schedule will be made available at a later date on the dedicated tester forum.
I think that guy is gifthorse to -.-
The alpha is very limited. As I know the only content are tutorial quests, sidequests, leves and a lv15 dungeon. And the level cap is lv20.
What is missing until the beta are more dungeons, higher level cap, Limit Break, FATE, Main Story quests, GC quests, Cutscene, PvP and housing (maybe)
As somebody who really enjoyed 1.0, I say good. In my eyes, the things FFXIV needed are all being addressed.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It just unfortunate whenit is based on misinformation or their own limited knowledge.
Respectfully, the OP is so full of crap I don't even know where to start. You clearly haven't been following all of the information regarding the redevelopment of this game or you would not have listed jumping as their biggest change to the game. There are so many new things they have added in addition to the exisiting content that they have rebuilt from the ground up. You are making some pretty big assumptions about how ARR is going to be without even having played or seen a completed version of it. Please do us all a favor and stop posting for now and find something better to do with your time.
its concerns
"PS. i know its only alpha at the moment and not a completed remake but the game is not going to go from what it is to a completely new game in a matter of months, oh and don't pointlessly flame and troll if you have something to say that's cool but try and be interesting"
The game will not go from alpha to release in just a few months. Yoshi has said they have been simultaneoulsly working and beta testing in house for quite a while now. Therefore, when they open beta testing to the community the game will be very close to being finished.
Hmm, ok, so you are saying that your personal experience with ARR has brought you to this conclusion... so by definition of this, you have confessed to have broken NDA rules by revealing that you are an alpha tester. Good one brah!
My one concern is this:
If I were on the dev team and read the forums enough I might think to myself, "We need to make this game alot simpler and easier because most of these people don't seem too bright."
This could be a route SE can take and possibly the future success of ARR depends on it. The fact the people misspell words incorrectly is a very big CONSERN for me!
So that along with many things people posted on the lodestone makes people seem "too smart to be stupid, but too dumb to be smart" guess they are just stick in the middle!
Actually he needs to reformat the whole argument. I fail to take it seriously when no periods are being used, and it's just one big run-on sentence. That is my only "consern."
How is jumping pointless? I think it's good for getting up to some areas like jumping over fences instead of walking around them. At least I'd do that in the game. Heck, I think you could solve A LOT of glitches just by using jump to show how accessible the areas are for bugs. FFXI didn't have it, and I fell through the floorboards in Kazham many times and had a GM come and teleport me out.
...this thread is serious, isn't it?
...
I have a headache...possibly a nosebleed...from the stupidity...But I think Gramul has it covered, so I'll just be leaving...
GW2 is bad for the following reasons:
Gear check's are "optional". You don't need gear to do ANY content. (Can run around in gear that you picked up from the dumpster).
You can't examine someone to see if their gear is bad.
New content is always glitched on release, like always.
Painfully easy storyline missions. (Actually all the content)
Can't level other jobs on same toon, terrible.
Does not support controller usage (Oh go download pinaacle and pay 25 bucks after 30 days no thanks.)
Good things from GW2:
TP sale system, being able to sell from anywhere is amazing.
Dungeon drops scaling as per your level, amazing. Keeps all content relative.
Legendary weapons are much harder than FFXIV relics, and most other "end game weapons in MMO's"
Crafting gives you "job" levels, nice addition.
I'm sure there are more, but that's just off the top of the dome.
Champ out.
Unless you have friends, it's very unlikely... In XI, more than 60% of them are hardcore assholes and it kept me away from enjoying the game at all. I prefer ARR to be more like PSO, for example, if this party is too much drama for my taste I would switch to a different party instantly. Sorry buddy, the truth is not all causal players want to make real friends in the game and (I think) it's meant for them to enjoy. This is all about casual friendly.
It's okay if you don't like ARR, you can stick with FFXI if you really like grinding. It's still a good economy for SE to grow. ^^d
Oh, don't forget the new expansion pack is coming for FFXI!

You lost me here. When your first line completely lacks any sense, there's no hope that the rest will be any better.
Yeah, someone needs to be interesting here, because what you wrote isn't.Quote:
if you have something to say that's cool but try and be interesting
Not only it isn't interesting, but it doesn't contain a shred of realism and evidences an extremely lacking knowledge of the MMORPG market.
Oh, and by the way, a piece of info for your perusal: the word you're looking for is "conCerns".
gw2 is the most crappiest of mmo's i have played ...ever. wtf is wrong with some of you is beyond me. world events are only kinda cool, 90% of them are empty. even with people around your usually playing solo, and even if you invite players to do them with you, they play out exactly the same and the group is gone and broken or scattered not long after.
like someone mentioned campaign battles were like this ...but way better, and for 1. they pushed you towards the same one so they were always full of players at least. there is 0 things it should take from gw2, i can't think of anything in gw2 that, i said oh well this is kinda cool, from that game at all. it's a SOLO, game with players around.
as for waiting for leaders to invite you, i kinda agree. the problem was the game was empty. only the same groups usually teamed up for them ...at least till farm time and they actually needed people.and not enough extra's to make your own. if you weren't in vent you probably didn't get invites either. but it was cause the game was doing bad, if it gets normal numbers again this will be fixed, fact most shells won't even exist and the top ones won't be top any more when the game actually has numbers in it. most were the only choice, not "the choice". either way how can you then ask for gw2, lol. if anything you then should be asking for full linkshell events like ffxi. join a shell and you are guarantee multiple events a week for your whole group. either way auto grouping will fix this. same as in gw2. though you say it creates community ...but if you ask me it ruins it. besides that, you can't be a total dick when you need to be in a group of 30-64 players and there ain't a place you can go without them all talking shit if you are a total assbag.
i'll skip over the aesthetic arguments cause i don't care about that type of stuff and i don't even notice or think about it. i can play with stick figures long as the content is fun and progression keeps on going and keeps me entertained.
the one thing not mentioned i'd like to mention is this. ffxiv needs to not create mobs like gw2 ...witch is what it looks like it is doing. but but, don't get me wrong by the end of ffxi1.X i saw glimpses of dynamic mobs, there were mages in beastmen camps that needed silence or they would kick your butt. but every mob type needs something like this and i hope to high heaven that end game and then moving forward past rank 50 has this. mob grinds(i mean stupid quests now, look all the same) I R MAGE, I want to do stuff like this. if not i'd be a warrior that did nothing in ffxi and it feels like every class is like this now. every group of mobs should have multiple classes, do buffs and debuffs rather then be just stupid skins, that is all they are in almost every mmo now. they are different skins that all do the same thing. you kill them all the same. i hate it.
personally i can't imagine people who played ffxi for 8years saying that gw2 was even remotely great. you must of had a really bad time and still played for 8years. once again gw2 is crap, the endgame? what end game. and pvp sucks, it's just a really bad version of some of the stuff warhammer had. but warhammer was a true and fully made pvp game ..it was great till land of dead released and they removed the best parts of that game, forts. either way all it is ..is lots of running. i couldn't stomach it for more then a day in gw2 after doing it for a year in warhammer.
tldr, gw2 bad, ffxi good. gw2/ffxiv mobs bad, ffxi dynamic mobs good, solo mmo's bad, party good, op bad, me ..good :)
Well I agree with the concerns part....but not really much else.
the tp thing is true, being able to open it anywhere was pretty cool and the opening bank anywhere with an item was really cool too now that i think of it.
other then that the legendaries if thinking the ones you are, are no different then spirit binding and working on getting multiple melds in ffxiv. it's just karma farms and meld it into good stuff. not sure if you mean something else cause i never got that deep into gw2 ...usually i can play a mmo for at least till there isn't any content left but i detested gw2 and quit in 2 weeks. i still made rank 80 and geared up repeating the 2chest thing and wanted to blow my brains out on how bad it was.
didn't like the craft thing cause it should be separate. they are different you should have a full battle class almost complete just by hitting go on 100's of crafts that you just hit go on. lol also it combined it, that halves the content for the sake of just adding it in game.
dungeons should stay relevant but i personally don't like how they did it. really it's a cop out for laziness the way it's done.
oh one thing else that i did like that my hate blocked from it, the way that no matter where you ran around it lowered you to the level of the zone. fact this is my idea lmao. i used to say all the time in mmo forums that i want caps for content. but even in everything. you hit a rank 1 sheep to farm them you drop to rank 1 ...no rank 80 fighting rank 1's. so this was very cool ...fact i'd love this in any and all mmo's. ...though i bet this is the one thing most will hate to see in other mmo's lmao.
So tired of Guild Wars 2, it is not the hawtness that people seem to think it is. At least I don't see it.
Sure the random events are interesting...the first time you see them. After awhile it gets jarring to see the same chick running off to fight a Yeti for the umpteenth time. Shoot it in the head and be done!
