I wouldn't advise the manual esm selection simply because it's too easy to lose track of the mods you're using. Some don't have an esm/esp at all, or some mod the same thing. The mod manager will ensure that you can install/uninstall a mod without breaking the others (IE: if you install a mod that overwrites some file of another mod, if you disinstall the first mod, the manager will actually reinstate the files you previously overwritten, ensuring that the first mod will work).

It's a very sophisticated piece of software and makes your life a LOT easier without drawbacks.

"need" no, but the right selection of mods will make the game so much better that it's really not worth it to run without.

Mods kinda make the gameplay 250 bajillion percent less glitchy, more balanced, and the graphics 980 billion percent better. Plus, there's some good questlines like the Moonpath to Elswyr.

I doubt ESO will be like the Elder Scrolls series and cause of that the network code would require a heavy bandwidth for Bethesda's servers. While I owned my small house in Skyrim and everytime I went inside I always messed up stuff in the living room for no reasons (maybe my fault or my fellow NPC's fault lol) so I had to clean craps everytime I leave the house. :(

Once you give info to a website, you usually can't take it away. So some people are understandably very reserved about signing up for sites they aren't really going to use.

Man, some of the early results on this poll are laughable. I'd really like to see XIV get the rising star award, but it's gonna be tough. :(

We're writing in the forum of a game called FINAL FANTASY XIV. We can't really afford to criticize that. If this game wasn't a final fantasy it'd be long dead now.

Actually, the Final Fantasy name is more of a burden nowadays. Don't you know it's the cool thing to bash on SE and anything Final Fantasy over the internetz these days?

It's not dead simply because it's, well... sort of SE's main series of games. They can't afford to have one of their main titles crash and burn just like that. Yoshi and Wada stated this themselves.

While there are a lot of people that do look down on the Final Fantasy franchise (mind you, after the Skyrim/PS3 debacles quite a lot of people aren't exactly tender with the TES franchise either), there also are a whole lot of people that still believe that SE can do no wrong and that will buy anything with the Final Fantasy name on top.

It's a franchise that can still count on a very large fanbase.

If this game wasn't a numbered Final Fantasy Square Enix wouldn't probably even bother with remaking it to try and repair the damage they did to the brand.

You mean the fanboys that will love anything SE throws at them? 'cause from what I've seen over the years, tons of those FF fanboys actually detest XI and XIV simply because they're MMOs and without actually having tried either. O_o They clamor that they shouldn't be numbered FF games.

Oh yeah. This would probably be a big issue if they were actually thinking about a PS3 release, but I doubt that. TES's main audience has always been PC users anyway.

That's exactly what I said on my last post, but this is all about SE. They can't afford to have one of their main titles to die just like that. Who do you think they are, Capcom?

Oh, and the damage? It's been done since XIII and they're going for it's second sequel. They don't care much as long as it sells. XIV didn't sell as expected, so they had to take actions regarding this one.

While those people do exist. I think it's undeniable that there are a lot of people that played FFXIV and will play FFXIV: A Realm Reborn primarily because they're numbered final fantasy titles, pretty much like there are a lot of people that will play TESO primarily because it's a TES title.

It's normal for franchises, and that's why Square Enix is trying this hard to repair the damage done to the FF one. Franchises are a precious resource for a company.

There's really nothing wrong about it, mind you. A popular franchise isn't normally popular for nothing.

I'm actually more inclined at the moment to vote for Blade & Soul as most anticipated but it's not on there.

I don't see Final Fantasy making it on any of the votes on the list. Most Anticipated i see making it is Elder Scrolls Online.

MMORPG.com has & still does look poorly upon SE on its MMOs created.

Poor FFXIV:ARR not doing well in most anticipated

what's up with this first-personal-shooter-based battle style (looking at 2012's Most Anticipated List)? Looks like the trend are there... It's like "fashion", ppl are just copying each other... (By saying first-personal-shooter battle style, I mean "Might and Magic" or "Elder's Scroll" style you shoot the center of the screen)

Darkfall (6%), Elder scroll(29.2%), Firefall(5.6%), Never winter(8.4%), Star Citizen (12.7%), Wildstar (5%), The Repopulation(3.2%), Defiance (2.0%), otherland (1.2%).... oh sorry it's faster to say which games (3 our of 12)(ArcheAge, ff14 ARR, Marvel Heros) are not using that system...
sort of all using the same battle technique that you shoot to center of your screen. wildstar has hybrid system...

It's kinda interesting...I wonder 75% of the games in the market right now are using that style or no... I just know I can't play lots modern games.
(I can't play these due to motion-sickness thing)

Meh, do what you like. I don't care anymore and will stick with ARR because Yoshi-P is the awesome producer SE has ever got... It broke my heart.

Just because you uncheck boxes doesn't mean they don't keep the information you give them forever. Not every site lets you close your account and even some that do don't actually delete your data if you do close it.
