Inside everyones house they should have a portrait of Lou doing that smile he did right before he died. That'll motivate us.

Nope. Not big enough to keep some people from still wishing/insisting he should be summon-able by players.
*rolls eyes*
If a major Primal who was able to break free from the binds of the Twelve could be taken down in 15 minutes by mere mortals... I'd personally prefer they didn't make him an encounter at all. That would seriously conflict with the strength he's demonstrated and kind of diminish his presence.
Unless... something were to happen that somehow greatly weakened him.
Remember Sin? From FFX You know this guy:
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...kand_ruins.png
He is big. If we cant fight all over Bahamut (like sin) for hours and over many stages Imma be sad. Also like sin I want our asses to be constantly reminded about him as he kicks our ass. Seriously defied the 12... In a year we should be thinking about maybe killing him.. lol
I would imagine that the "keys" that were flung out of the Dalamund prison would be part of the battle. So maybe you fight him when he is on the ground and then when he flys up you fight minions and dodge his pot shots and fly by attacks as you activate the "keys".
Now this assumption could easily be changed if the keys in fact are weapons, then it might prelude to Gilgamesh collecting them.
But yeah throw some Lalas in some heavy dark light and you have all the anti air ammo you need just need a way to "launch" them? Maybe a gunlance ignition?
Beastmaster Alliance!!!
Please
For the love of god
Don't fall into the same trope of:
"LETS FIGHT HIM ON AN AIRSHIP BECAUSE HE IS REALLY BIG" I hate that shit, it's done in every game where there's a huge enemy.
Can you imagine the Bahamut (Hard) and Bahamut (Extreme) fight?
I read somewhere in the letter Yoshi-P mentioned killing Bahamut, but it sounded like a hypothetical concept. I'd love to see one of those boss fights like in one-player games where you have to kill individual body parts and make your way up to the head. If they just size him down I'll be disappointed.
Also, imagine yourself standing on one of those bridges. Even a Roegadyn is ant-sized by comparison!
theres nothing wrong with the current 30 min fights >.> 1-5 hour long XI bosses maybe alittle much but to have a bunch of super easy 6-15min fights gets old fast too(garuda 6min wins >.>). being able to kill it within 30mins is just prefect imo, its long enough to satisfy the "don't fuck up and wipe us noob" criteria as well as the "lets spam this fight all day" criteria also. They are boss fights so shouldn't they be hard? part of the difficultly is staying on your A game for the extended period of time and not derpping over and over screwing the party over in the process lol :P
i still feel though somethign as godly powerful as bahamut should be about an hour long fight i mean come on he made the 12 (well technically 13 since 1 of them is a set of 2) look like fleas he backhanded their seal like it was a joke anything under 45m-90mins would kinda make his appearence and extreme power featured in the video kinda lol'able. Hes no mere boss hes like a mega boss and thus should take much much more then 15mins to kill ... he's more powerful then 13 gods combining at once.. a 15min fight would be as pathetic as us killed 1 of the 12 in like 90seconds.. >.>
I will man my rage face :O if Bahamut is only a 15 min fight. lol
Bahamut is freaking huge - bigger then all past Bahamuts. If he doesnt take an epic fight of multiple 30 minute stages I will be extremely dissapointed with the beast that "lulzed" at the 12's efforts. (can "save" quest at each stage to restart and reduce frustrations)
Following a specific formula would be bad for nostalgia and overall uniqueness of the fight as well - so perhaps some are 15, 30, 1 hour, dungeon fight on his body, 1,2,4,8,32 (player #), world server events w.e We can make a thread of suggestions for SE. But I am sure Yoshi already has an idea of how the fight will go down.
Shinryu fight XI if you remember how big was he and we were hitting its belly guess bahamut area or fight would be same as XI shinryu
Take bahamut down ? Simple.
active time event
Make Bahamut be in FF14 like Acnologia is in the Fairy Tail world ..you know he exists and he could appear any moment and put an end to your era. Hes out there somewhere dormant He can be a live event super HNM unbeatable of course
I would love a long fight against him (1hr+), with multiple stages, I imagine a full alliance fight.
I found Kirin fun in XI, which could take 2hrs to kill, never got to fight JoL/AV or PW before so I can't comment on those long fights.
I wouldn't mind a 24 hour fight in nonconsecutive time. But there is "hardcore" and there is "unhealthy" lol a couple hours should be a max consecutive moment (you can follow each stage immediately by choice but you are not "forced" to).
JoL/AV where the 5+ hour boss fights weren't they? I remember hearing SE released a 24 hour boss but then nerfed it / players learned how to kill it and it turned to like a 10 hour boss fight or something.
Well, Dalamud was the size of a small moon so it's no surprise that Bahamut is the size that he is.
Regarding battle. I think that he should be one of the top tiered battles. Don't just make have lots of HP, but have him do random stuff that would really challenge the alliance. Have him instantly kill 2 party or something just for kicks and then let the others try and reraise them up to full, while keeping damage on him.
Final Fantasy boss battles have always been unique in that the producers and directors have always been able to implement unique ways of killing bosses. Odin in Final Fantasy 4 with the spoon kill. Asura from the same game and having to cast reflect on her in order to stop her crazy cures. Final Fantasy XI and having to /bow to Odin otherwise he kills everyone.
Having said that I don't think that one hit kills should be the answer to the bosses either. It should just be something that would reduce his HP or maybe weaken him for a certain time. They should implement stages of when to do what, otherwise things would be too easy. Think of Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts at the colosseum, but add little tidbits of hope for every stage.
I honestly wouldn't mind an Absolute Virtue, pre-nerf, for the insanely hardcore players.
Airship battle vs Bahamut, stuff will explode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZqiV...eature=related
There's going to be alot of speculation for a long time on this. The Maze of Bahamut is being released in tiers over a year's time. I don't think they are seeing it as something you spam-fest like the 1.0 content, which I'm glad.
Midgarsormr was bigger too bad he died .. i'm not sure what kills him but yeah a fight between him and Bahamut could destroy Eorzea xD
Did you say you didnt know what killed Midgarsormir? The airship battle is what took him down, after he released his breath and punched a hole through that massive red airship, his body was coiled around its hull and he went down with it. Guess it couldn't unwrap itself in time to avoid being taken down by the airship at the same time, impact/massive landscape changing explosion is what did it in.
I would love to be able to summoning bahamut XD
Go fight a coeurl
Coeurl : RAWRRRRRR
Me: oh yeah *summon bahamut
Coeurl : Miaw
Well I had started to type something about that, of whether or not Bahamut is going to be portrayed as an actual Primal, or if he's something else, like a key figure npc that cant be used in the summoner acquisition/free company usage.
I personally think it'd be prety badass to select Bahamut as your SMN, have massive wings fold out from your back, lift you up off the ground a few feet while you start blasting mobs with the flurry of bolts he used in the trailer.
As for how we'd actually end up going up against him, I doubt we're going to actually fight Bahamut head to head, more likely he'll be in the same arena in some fashion, but we'll likely be doing something like triggering a series of traps or keys to try and imprision him again, or simply destroy him altogether.
My bigger question about Bahamut though, is what is he really here for. Is he just what he appears to be, God like Elder Primal, or is he more like a harbringer to something much worse than he? If Atomos is tied to the Void, I'm thinking Bahamut plays a crucial role in helping bring something really nasty, really old back into our world. Almost CoP'ish, since Bahamut acted as a sort of gate keeper for Sky.
They did say they're going to bring the Ascians back in and you've seen the succubi pictures I'm sure. They'll be incorporating more void/underworld themes in ARR. It can really go all sorts of different ways.
It's already been spoiled alittle bit the Producer Live letter, and in the video.
The large sword that hit the ground, I bet will be in the fight with Bahamut. If it is, we will need to pray to it to help defeat Bahamut. Why pray? The video shows them rising back up after Y'shtola, Thancred, Papalymo, and Yda prayed at the shrines.
It will mostly likely cause an anmesia effect on him with a gravity effect.
We need a visual comparison of just how large Bahamut really is compared to an average size human.
However he does indeed look huge, and in order to face him in battle we'll need something of equal strength.
It's cool, we'll have the geat and powerful... carbuncle on our si...
seriously...carbuncle... I just want to /facedesk
Sure, Carbuncle looks harmless enough now..until

How to kill Bahamut...
Step 1:
We awaken Midgarsormr... I reckon some form of him still exists in the aetherial plane or something. If he was completely dead, he would have rotted away by now. Methinks he maybe in some kind of crystal-induced cryostatis... I hope so.
Step 2:
We evolve into demi-gods... Sensei Louisoix smiled at the end just as the symbol on his throat seemed to "activate"... I think he gave us something more than just a teleport to the future. We need to evolve some more because he expects that of us... and that large "'sword looking crystal key thingy" that fell from Dalamud seems important. We obtain it asap.
Step 3:
Negociate with Ishgard to share some valuable intel on dragon-hunting... their skills will help us take care of Bahamut's minions (I expect there will be several of them)
Step 4:
Tear the Crystal Tower asunder floor by floor... just like in the trailer, the way our Warrior and Paladin heroes tore through the Garleans is how we do it Eorzea style.
Step 5:
We zerg him head on for his first stage... he can mega-flare all he wants, we got a battalion of evolved white mages with Louisoix's "super shield" now. For his second stage, we support and use Midgarsormr and some NPC help (Merlwyb, Raubhan, Cid and company)... and then do a combined 800-player Meteor Limit Break on him for his third stage.
*Pauses to picture nuke after nuke after nuke of meteor on Bahamut*
Indeed...I intend to take a ridiculous amount of screenshots of his charred arse when we're done. Like I said, Bahamut will fall... he killed our Sensei, burnt our cribs and we cannot let that go unpunished.
*(Quietly returns to sharpening his katanas)*
That's not the same keys, it's the twelve attempting to seal him. Y'shtola, Thanacred, Papalymo and Yda had to pray at the shrines for Louisoix to summon the twelve, the light rising from them was showing him that he could summon the twelve.
There's still a lot they could do, what if the keys contain monsters that drop items needed to weaken him, or we have to break them open to get something, of course there is the pray at them. SE could add them in so many ways.
I was what i was thinking! the keys summoned with prayers look nothing like the keys that fell from dalamud. they were like... impromptu artificial holy keys (I can't think of a better way to put it), but they were sort of a last minute type thing, which is probably why they failed. there is something about the ORIGINAL keys that's important
The explanation of the trailer on SE members blog says that Bahamut's power was to powerful for Louisoix, it's kind of like in all FF games, the power of the summons is directly influenced by the power of the summoner, and in this case Louisoix wasn't strong enough to use enough of the twelve's power to seal Bahamut.
I would personally like to know how the Allagan empire sealed Bahamut in Dalamud first, did they use the twelve, or even the twelve and the primals, or did they construct Dalamud (it does seem entirely artificial) and in the trailer the Twelve were just trying an already proven method. Chances of finding that out will be slim though because almost all information prior to the 5th Umbral era has been lost (all we know is the elemental allignment of each era, and that the 4th Umbral era is what wiped out ancient Allag.
