Bahamut VS Deathwing

How do you copy a dragon exactly? Hell, how can you compare dragon from two different games that are completely unrelated and I heard from a reliable source both dragons are pretty cool dudes. Althoooooough, Bahamut did just faceroll the planet, pooped on some (12?)gods and technically brought a cataclysmical smack down on Eorzea(eh my moneys on this guy). End of the day though, comparing and insulting other franchises dragons sounds as hilarious as this forums complaining about jumping, grass, doors, and whatever other shenanigans this place gets into. In otherwords, silly.

Bahamut is over 4x bigger than deathwing (from what I've seen) It's not even a contest.

I saw Bahamut fly from Mor to LL , to and fro no need 1 min.

I think the major comparison being drawn was how Blizzard used a dragon to blow up their world, and some people think SE copied this idea to launch ARR. Maybe the concept was copied, but Bahamut existed long before Deathwing did. (Bahamut showed up in the first FF in 1987, the first Warcraft game didn't come out until 1994.)

As bad as this sounds....All I can think of is Twilight: BD 1 when the wolves are talking and the alpha is trying to make Jacob (?) bow to him.

I'm seriously biased towards Bahamut, but I'll just say one thing.

We were prepared for a moon-sized meteor that would crash and destroy the entire world and yet, we all thought "This is getting WORSE !!" when Bahamut appeared.

No one else can give this feeling :p

Haha, yeah your right, good call.

Well this is pretty simple. Because WoW is full of idiots and lets a giant dragon take out their world doesn't mean he's powerful. Within 48hr he was already slain by some of the best adventurers in that game (some antagonist you got there). If Bahamut has abilities like Mega and GigaFlare, he is already 100 times more powerful then lolwing. All you had to do was jump from one platform to the next and deal with adds to kill Deathwing, it was a joke.

They're just games. Azeroth did not really get ripped up by Deathwing. Eorzea didn't really get blown up by Bahamut. It's all fictitious events, happening in fictitious places to fictitious people.

People are just having fun with it.

Relax lol.

That said, going on what they are, (fantasy scenarios), and judging by the impact of the damage, and the effect it had on each world's people, I'd say Bahamut's attack was easily the more vicious and devastating of the two. In Cataclysm, people were displaced and a lot of people died, yes. However, a 'chosen few' had to be teleported years into the future to escape complete annihilation in the wake of Bahamut's attack. It's a good likelihood most others who were caught in it with nowhere to go, perished. We may find out for sure in 2.0, but it could be that those who could, escaped into the various caves and tunnels to escape the aftermath.

It's been a long time since I played Cata, but wasn't it mainly the coastal areas that took the brunt of the attack? I know interior areas were affected, but not nearly as greatly.

Deathwing was never "contained"... pretty much he gets his butt kicked and he goes running off to the plane of earth "Deepholm" to hide and heal... Then guess what when he is healed he pops out of the plane of earth which is what causes Azeroth to shift and be changed... Deathwing didn't really do it himself it was pretty much just an effect of him opening a portal/hole from Deepholm to Azeroth. Oh and guess what... He comes back and gets his butt kicked again and this time dies... so I don't think Deathwing can win... since he is now dead...

Bahamut was never really beaten... I believe what happened was he was summoned by the dragons during the 3rd astral era and the Allagan empire at the time used a sealing device they had made to lock away the elder primal and put him in place near the moon... This way the dragons would lose power having lost their "god". Heck they probably didn't even fight him... just let him run low on aether and before he could recharge hit him with the seal...

Anyways this topic is sort of silly... and here is the last bit of fun... as a primal Bahamut can never be killed since he can always be re-summoned just like the other primals... Deathwing is dead and gone...

Yeah, it's a sad reality of gaming that there are people out there who will actively go out of their way to bash any game that isn't the one they like.

Anyone who knows anything about FF history or Bahamut's place in it knows better.

When I'd first seen the Deathwing cutscene for Cata, I was pretty blown away. It was, and still is, an impressive movie. But in terms of sheer primal ass-kicking, Bahamut's destruction in ARR's movie makes DW's rampage look kinda tame by comparison. Most of the damage done by DW is in the form of a tsunami, basically while he's coming up from Deepholme. You could say that Bahamut's initial attack was by proxy, using the shards of Dalamud, but everything after that was all him.

Brutal.

Hell, I wouldn't even call that one easy either. I mean...Alexander is also lauded as one of the strongest Final Fantasy summons as well. I'd say if you have to call him out to clean up Bahamut, you're having anything but an easy time. >_>
