Bahamut: Foe? or Friend?

Nah. I really hate his gut for what he did. And... he's ugly. Even I could hate sexy Garuda if she ever manage to do grand scale like that. :p

But it might be interesting to know if ppl interested with something out of the box. After all, there's some demand of PvP and same-sex marriage. :p

Pretty sure you guys probably did get the reference/simile, but for any who don't follow Disney: Bahamut is like Genie in Aladdin. If the wrong person gets hold of his lamp, he can be used for evil purposes. That isn't to say Bahamut is good or evil in his free nature, but to say that Bahamut at the time was arguably under some form of control by the Garlean Empire.

True this. Bahamut is then neither friend or foe, just works for whoever gots his materia lol.

Well, given we aren't beastmen... and none of primals like us.(Except maybe moogle?) I'd say it would be safe to say... foe. Plus last time I checked a friend doesn't come over and break my stuff after he has been gone while saying, "how ya doing pal?"

We have to remember though in most the series he never really is friends with humans. He just occasionally decides to not kill us but sometimes...

And I do know Aladdin references, I am (and still) enjoying those. Like I said earlier, Bahamut is just a plot device. But I wouldn't compare it to Genie since he still has emotion (the Disney version, dunno about genie in general which probably more evil). This Bahamut is like a ticking bomb, highly doubt emotion can be involved in it. And the fact that it is super furious being locked so long, kinda felt it upon the impact on Eorzea.

But at the end, Eorzea still got totally razed. :p

Bahamut allowed for the dev team to make a new map while also providing lore on how those new maps came to be. I vote.. friend.

Pfft, Bahamut will forever be an enemy.
