The server isn't crashing, Mor Dhona is. Ul'dah is managing okay despite having a tonne of people.

Stuck in Ul'dah with R0 after trying to teleport to Brittlebark... for the past 20 minutes now.

Maybe the gravitational pull from all the people trying to jump to Mor Dhona at the same time is ultimately what causes Dalamund to come crashing down on Eorzea? ^^;

As if server crashes is something unique to SE. What about Blizzard who has Beta/ptr for months and and yet everything is a massive bugfest and servercrashes.

Live Letter from the producer says 2am pst now, I don't remember that being the time before but I might have missed it.

Managed to actually get some gamplay in :O, but now I cant get back into the character selection screen >.<

I got in for a time, but it was just generic imperials at brittlebark.

It has crashed in the last minute, though.

I've managed to stay on so far, left Brittle tho, duh.

I honestly can't see this working out as the actual finale, they're gonna need to reschedule or make up somehow. I hope they had a plan B ready.

Maybe its because my char is still in mor dohna that i cant get back in. Are you restarting the game from the "accept" on the error message? or just Accepting then trying to get in without restarting the entire application?

To anyone who managed to get in after crash error numerous times:
I figured I was supposed to restart the whole application after accepting the error because i notice that if I press Accept then try to push start, it is an odd start without the sound effects of the log in screen.

I'm just accepting and trying to get back in, it worked once already.

Got in just long enough to see some wolves die, be told to go to uldah, help kill a bixie, and then watch SE force us to crash our own server by telling us to mass port to Mor Dhona again.

Now I can't reach the lobby again... This event is looking like a massive fail its 5 minutes from its scheduled end time already. Oh, I guess there's still an hour left. but if it goes like the last hour, I wont get to see much of it.

I really wonder what it was that we were supposed to be doing.

the problem is that the entire player-base, European, Japanese, and U.S. are all in game/trying to get in all at the same time, no game was designed for that kind of stress.

The problem is that ANYONE could have reasoned that, that's what would happen, and plan accordingly.

But this is SE they do their own thing.

Blizzard and D3 launch says hello XD
They had sales upfront and should have known how many people would log in at the same time and taken it into consideration. Did they? Nope XD
Doesnt help either that people who has quit playing XIV for month/years suddenly wants to come back for a last glimpse hehe.
