Memories of Eorzea Contest (EU) - Entry Thread

Christmas 2010. Some friends and I went to Aleport. We attended a very funny theatre play called "Wild Vegetable Squadron - Lalafell Ranger". When the play finished we visited a flea market where crafters would exchange materials and sell finished equipment at cost price. It was one of those truly memorable days. :)

Was just sitting in Ul'dah minding my own business when suddenly, I realised there was a roegadyn standing amongst 8 lalafells, I merely pointed out in /say that all the lalafells were standing around the roegadyn and all at once we began pointing. It was one of the strangest and funniest experiences I had in game, and the fact we were placed in a heart shape by mistake made it even better!

Back when they were just released, my LS spent several days doing AF quests, helping each other get their own. It was really fun figuring out so many quests together, and occasionally with new people who were doing the same that we met along the way. Sure, it's not like we were killing a new big primal for example, but we really enjoyed ourselves and are certainly some of the days I remember more fondly.

Naked (or disguised) Ifrit run
Post save we decided to have fun and do a primal run naked and we could actually kill it ;)
and this was actually my very first Ifrit run ever
so doing it naked was a great priviledge haha

I met my best friend Leona Babydoll during my first week playing in December 2011. We have done everything in the game together. Here we are during the Easter celebrations enjoying the fireworks. I will always remember Final Fantasy XIV for allowing us to meet.

This is from my LS practising AV speed runs, there was so much time and effort put into developing a strat that worked for us. We ended up meeting at the EB Games Expo in Sydney, and all got to sign up for Beta together! <3 This pic is the culmination of hard work, perseverance and comradery <3

I decided not to post my endgame LS with all our relics out with dalamud behind us. I instead posted this picture of my social linkshell. I may not have had time to do serious content with them but they are wonderful friends and I have enjoyed many moments with them. I was so proud when they gathered themselves together and defeated Hard mode Nael van Darnus all by themselves and despite not being able to be part of their activities they were more than happy to include me in their celebrations.

This screenshot is a memory of all those fantastic people that made 1.x 100% worth being part of.

Naturally, Dalamud was a big part of 2.0, but it's important as people of Eorzea to able to ignore it and appreciate your friends, if not just for a little while.

This is a pic of my social LS, Relentless after we crowded into Gridania one evening and two of our members, Leo and Kaida, gave us a free standup comedy show/striptease.

The jokes were so bad we promptly had them killed just after the show.

When Rep Deitsu decided to Rick Roll us and we danced to kill the enemies Rep Deitsu is the best :) fond memories of special friends that was with me at the time. And casting Flare, Holy and tracers to celebrate the success.

I was minding my business one day taking a stroll through Uldah, Not really being a fan of Uldah I wanted to be in and out as quick as possible. I made it to the market wards in good time, everything was going swell, I got an awesome piece of equipment for a very good price. So......

Feeling chuffed with myself I decided to parade around in my pants as one does when they are very excited about something. I was merrily prancing in the street lion king style when all of a sudden I am pounced on by a cat burglar.

I wake up moments later to find all my equipment and money gone and I am surrounded by feline fiends !!!!.

So whats a girl to do.........GET EVEN !!!!

So what happen next........

I would like to say I won and that I walked away unscathed after a brutal battle. However, I cant I was beaten to a pulp and left for dead even the lallafels joined in on the beating.

To this day I avoid Uldah and the hooligans that live in those scary streets !!

Anyways, I now live a happy life as a pirate .

I have hundreds of screenshots, but this is probably the one that stands out most to me - it essentially defines my character: Solitary and a proud member of the Twin Adder (the stained glass windows are from the Adventurers Guild in Gridania).

This was wayy back in the good ol physical levels days. My first time encountering a GM, Petyr Winsome, and he was role playing. I always wanted to be a RedMage since the beginning of FFXIV, and his hat was not in the game yet, and it kinda looked like a RDM hat so I wanted it. Things I learned from Petyr:
1) He has a wife
2) He referred to Kipih Jakkya and Dural Tharal as "Competitors"

I have so many memories of my adventures in Eorzea - so many people that I've met and befriended and triumphed with; but I decided to post this screenshot as if it wasn't for that Lalafell sitting beside me watching the sun rise over La Noscae, I most likely wouldn't have adventured in Eorzea at all. So thank you to him and everyone else who has made my experience in FFXIV so so special. I look forwards to being with you in A Realm Reborn!

I have had such an incredible time playing Final Fantasy XIV, and I really think that this moment has captured the end of what has been a great adventure. Dalamud looms in the sky, lightning pierces the black of night, and a lonesome adventurer prepares himself for the final battle. As one journey ends, another begins, and I cannot wait to see what is on the other side of this umbral moon!
