My desktop is like 4 years old (q9500 quad core), I need (ok want) to upgrade. Should I go for a $600 i5 3570k, or a $1,600 iMac ?
Couples that play togther, stay together. Its awsome, to know you influenced someone into doing something that's good for your relationship. From one Dr. Frankenstein to another, Good JOOOB!
PS Loved the sculpts btw. You said you used Super sculpy was it?
Looks like it's time for me to make a spreadsheet...
I don't want to derail the thread, but as Lumia said you can build your own rig much more inexpensively and to higher quality than buying one pre-packaged (especially a proprietary Mac but I'm not going into Mac vs. PC stuff here). That is what I did, too, and you can do a great job. Just keep your warranty books because most if not all manufacturers that you'd buy parts from will offer you a replacement or refund guarantee should they zonk. Shop around at places like NewEgg, Tiger Direct, Amazon, and eBay and you should be able to run ARR in HQ+1 mode!
Back on topic, this thread inspired me and I think I will start a thread based on couple gamers or at least playing with IRL friends. I'm happy you could inspire your girlfriend to play, OP!
Well, I'm happy she joined. I enjoy playing XIV with my husband and I hope she finds lots of other things to craft as the game is beautiful now and gives me fun crafting ideas. I wish you two were on Balmung so we could chat about crafts.
I think tis pretty awesome that your and your g/f play. Me and my ex wife used to play and we had a good time doing it. sadly things fell apart due to r/l drama etc etc. cant say our in game experience was anything bad though. We had some fun with our old LS and duo/tri with people from it or entire xp groups. Its always a good thing to find something you and your other half can enjoy together. Thumbs up from me brother!
What's wrong with a mac? http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...2/IMG_0316.jpg
What. You're basing your argument on the number of likes a post receives? Seriously? Why don't you give an actual argument, deconstruct and refute his core points? By the mentality of the majority of people posting here I'd wager that'd be too grand a task however.
His post is gone. I think that would be enough of an explanation.
His assumption that this is "off topic" for the general forums is wrong. (The moderation team has been here, they would have locked it if it was against the TOS) His assumption that nobody cares about the post is off base. (Quite a few people "liked" the original post)
For everyone else's benefit.
•Please show respect and consideration to other users. Users of this forum come from various backgrounds, where their ages, sex, occupations and residential areas differ. Thus when you are making a post or reading posts made by others, please respect and give thought to their backgrounds. This also applies to those who are new to the wonderful world of MMORPGs. Everyone has to start somewhere and those first few steps into an unknown realm can be quite daunting for some. Lend a helping hand to a novice and who knows? Someday he or she may repay the favor tenfold!
Just ignore the negativity and continue on with your thread. Some people are just uptight assholes and go out of their way to demonstrate it.
Who ever doesn't like the thread can choose not to read or respond to it. Of course, they will anyway, because they think it somehow matters that they don't like your post; as though the stick they have shoved up their ass is somehow everyone else's problem as well.
Or they're just starved for attention, negative or otherwise.
OT: Congrats! That's awesome about you and your girlfriend. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun learning and experiencing ARR together.
Why do we have blogs to post personal stuff for then? If we can just randomly post whatever we feel like in a general discussion forum. Aren't blogs for us to diary our adventures in the first place? Wouldn't the people who care about the OP get more into his post if it was on his own blog. I for one think when someone posts stuff on a blog it gives you a better chance to get to know them and as they add to it the picture comes more into focus. Posting on this general discussion will only server to have the post buried in a days time and mean nothing in the future. At least a blog would have preserved his topic longer.
at least she took the time to make a spreadsheet..... i have like 6 notebooks full of recipes dating back to early in the game before yg even had crafting lists til now lol. really wish i would have made spreadsheets instead of all the writing and then looking for the stuff i had written months before.
Just in case you didn't know, apparently girls playing this game is news worthy.

haha i feel ya on that one too. i printed the maps for each city on the original game so i could notate areas where you could get like walnut because it only came off walnut trees. i noted each node by type of tree and the other gathering nodes and had them all written up before disciplesoftheland came into the game and was completely updated.
for example i had each tree setup like the one right beside camp bearded rock, Ash Branch/Ash Lumber/ Lonesca Orange/Chocobo Feather.
This thread appears to have run its course. As such, I am going to lock it at this time.
