I'm loving the new character creator. I like the first background. It sorta envokes the feeling of being inside the crystal from one of the previous ARR trailers. Sort of like being born or in most our cases reborn from it.
Also...I wanted larger bust sizes!!! Just kidding (partly...). I honestly expected as much. I figured that they were going to take the current largest size as a maximum.

they are not going to have everything in alpha arcanist... a lot of char options... wait for beta jeez

they said we would have the character creator some time before the game itself, I think I will spend ages making the perfect character

According to C/P'ed Yoshi-P's announcement at alpha tester's forum, alpha have actually only two race to choose: huyr midlander male, and miquote sunseeker femail. The class is limited to current classes (no, no arcanist and summoner until beta test final phase.)

what was the NDA agreement for alpha? are these at risk to be taken down?

Why couldnt they show male miqo in creation demo....

Miqo'te are defaulted to 'very large' lol

because they said in Alpha we can only make male Huyr and female Miqote so that's all we get at the moment

So they can make a video with male miqo pld in it but cant show char creation for male miqo, SE, the ones who gave us those pictures :/ dont buy that.

or maybe its the beta and blocked few thing or just created a fake beta creation thing cos its not there they want to test bug but in the real play

I really hope we can have the character move around during the character creation process so we can see how the animations work then. The only major gripe I have with the appearance I chose for 1 is that the hair looks good on a picture but looks really weird while moving around.

Well, from the you-know-what forum Yoshi said the alpha and beta version are "branched" into two lines 2 months ago, so what we will see in alpha version is not the newest build but only for stress test it meant to. While alpha test finished, all fixes will be merged into beta line and become new trunk.

(If you are familiar with software version control system such as "CVS" or "SVN" you will definite know what he means.)

but i think its good that way.. we dont need those "boobies" which we have in TERA and other korean MMorpgs, where people start to prejudge about a game too early and say

"oh just an other asian grinder with xxl boobs". im glad that it wont be in ARR either. it would not fit into FF.



but i have to agree with an other poster... 5 facial features are way too less. 1 of 5 characters having the same scar or beard? SE please add more options to it..


what i am also wondering about... okay for alpha they seem just to be able to select mi'quotes and Hyurans... but where are the highlanders in that list? By the way we havent seen any female highlander yet just concept arts of female roegadyn and male miquote.

I am pretty okay with the bust size itself. It looks somewhat realistic and not ridiculous huge as if the character had special surgery. Even though I am also curious how very small might look like o.o"
Aaand I am glad it is not a slider like in Perfect World International where you are able to put breasts to max and waist to zero (damn small) so it looks like your characters back is about to break.

OMG..this picture made me laugh really really hard. I'm the same way too. I can't handle this stuff, I get too excited and I just want it NOW.

Iirc, alpha for 1.0 had a lot of options blocked out as well. Alpha is for stress testing, not running around to play :P There's a good chance you won't even get in the game after the character creation during alpha anyways due to the congestion.

I have a feeling "very large" will vary on the size of the character, like Miqote's very large will probably vary quite a bit from Roe F very large.

It all remains to be seen though. I remember going through alpha, beta, beta 2, open beta for 1.0 thinking "surely this will change for launch, this is just beta" And some things that were important to me didn't get fixed until they started planning for ARR (being unable to control the camera with arrow keys, for example)
