I only have problems with lala in undergarments or sexy outfits. Then it's kinda weird and pedophile-y.

Otherwise, they seem like cute children to me. The taru in XI looked like a elf-eared pumpkin stuck on a tiny body.

I played as a Taru in XI and I rather enjoyed my head not being twice the size of my torso or doing splits and striding across the plains with legs the size of ankles.

Lalafel(sp?) are a million times cuter and cooler looking then almost every taru (cept the one from Windy WoTG missions)!

i think lalafells are good, even tho tarutaru was good'er! but in combat wise, they looked jokes, i mean, no matter how much a player is good at being a tank, knowing its a tarutaru PLD it kinda makes u doubt him lol. Another reason why Lalafell is good is because in FFXI, when a tarutaru wore a crazy cool armour, it looks like a stain on em and u dont get to see the detail cauz its so small, but lalafell are perfect size for their armour to have the visual detail, and i dont have the doubt that i had in tarutarus when i see a midget tank!

Tarutarus>Lalafells I think it's just lazy 3d modelling. Since "Galkas" don't have tails and "Tarus" have a knee they don't need to make that many adjustments to gear models on different races like they did in XI. It's all mostly just stretched or shrunk to fit the different characters. All races are basically a human 3d model slightly morphed.

I have to have a split opinion on this. I think lalafell are cute for FFXIV as tarutaru are cute for FFXI. If I had to make a choice however i'm definetly on the side of Lalafell. :P The catwomen still adore us too as we adore them! :D In time i'm sure they'll bring more animations and dances that will really bring out their cuteness factor by 10 fold hehe.

In all seriousness, no, you don't have to love on the lalafells and you don't have to like their look either! However, starting a thread on how much you dislike their look sends more of a message that you secretly love them and wish you picked them upon character creation. You couldn't do that though. You have an image to hold.

The visuals and the pre set persona of a character are driven by emotion. Hating on lalafell for their look or their "cuteness" is no different than hating on any other minority group IRL. It's always the fellows that speak out against them the most who are caught in the bathroom with one doing the nasty.

You just want to be as adorbs as the lalafell! You just admit it, sir! It's okay! It's okay to be lalafell. It gets better.

I was so torn when making my character, I loved being a taru in my taru only end-game LS in XI but I didn't like my helmet being 5x bigger then my character, my weapon looking like a HQ toothpick and people saying my drg looked like a gay pride megaman or a cute purple grape instead of the purple rolling ball of death I was.

So in the end I went back hume in XI and that char followed me to XIV. I still kinda regret it... >.<

Tarus looked stupid they had no knees and the heads was as big as the rest of the body. While im not into the small races of any game if i had to choose it would of course be Lalafell 100%

My Taru BLM was the leetest char on Asura. Couldn't bring myself to making a lalafell. I find nothing appealing about their looks.

i like lalas a lot too :) (i loved my taru as well though), they way they run or walk not so much but its not that much of a problem to me. The character design i must say 10/10 to SE for that, great animations (other animations are incredibly poor compared to the way the characters are animated though).
So i wouldnt change it, a lot more other things need change/upgrades etc.
