Whats this have to do with what I said? You said you wished there were bird races in FFXIV....there IS...because the Ixal (which are in XIV) are birds.

But... if they add Vierra, then the kitties in Ul'dah will have bunny buddies o.o

If it ain't Shumi, BJURURURURURURURURU!

"Gria"
Nice Golbez art.
Actually, now that I think about it, the Crystal Tower comes out from the center of Dalamud doesn't it? (that's what it looked like in the 2nd trailer). Maybe it'll have an aesthetic similar to FFIV?
Seriously though add Vierra lol. The ban'gaa
... OMFG I just thought of something badass. What if they find a way to mix in the Occuria? Remember that this game's lead artist is the same person that did FF12... ooo that'd be neat, especially if we got a Sky-like zone. o.o what if the 12 are all Occuria?!
I have a feeling that mixed races or age selection will be possible. But it's a very early supposition.
Explaination:
When I look at the Arcanist artwork (reminder), I see an Elezen but smaller than the current ones and with a "childish" face and attitude. Carbuncle looks very big, so does the chair. Playing with proportions in a drawing is a way to give importance to some details.
Akihiko Yoshida and Kazuya Takahashi used to drawn Elezens in a more mature way and on top of other things to accentuate their tallness (reminder1, reminder2).
But as I said, nothing as been said regarding this. I just know that Akihiko Yoshida is consistent in his drawings and seeing this small Elezen is not his former way to depict the race.
Well, I've always thought padjal should selectable that way we have a size that is more inbetween human and lalafell.
Also, wasn't there supposed to be a female highlander as well, or did that kind of go forgotten I know it wasn't on the artwork of the races on that new trailor.
I wouldn't mind one more race, but that's about it. It'd also have to be a dark/wild race. The current races are pretty much "in check" with whatever region they are from.
i once had started a poll about that 3 months ago ;)

I'd love to see more races of any kind, the current races are really boring and played out (especially since they are just rips from XI) and copy the generic mold of everyday MMO set of races.
Which would be the Human, Elf, Midget, Hulk and Animal Hybrid. x.x
this again? Ronso only....
Idea!: Less races more diverse animation sets.
http://ffxistyle.files.wordpress.com...lv_blm_cst.jpg
Anyone remember when each race had different animations for almost EVERYTHING from casting spells to how they held weapons? It was permiated with amazing polish from the way a Elvaan held a one handed sword like a fencer to how they shot a gun with one hand instead of two.
Remember when Tarutaru did a little backflip during Asuran fists? I do...
No, since technically these are not the same races. They are similar but they are not the same and differ in a lot of ways. Also it's not uncommon for things (like monsters, chocobos, weapons, etc...) to look exactly the same as in previous FF titles.
I'd fully support new races, I'd just prefer they be new races and not Ivalice's races considering this is not Ivalice.
exactly how i feel, heck they can call it Final Fantasy: Ivalice online if the wanna give it a number go ahead doesnt matter. I Cant really see any reason why not after 14 cycle is done to go with a completely exclusive and individual mmo.
Ivalice great setting, story, lore, races, jobs, monsters, etc etc etc.
It isn't, but... oh that's right

except one of those will kick your ass 16 ways till Sunday all by his lonesome while walking, the other ones a nutjob who sissy's out and teleports everywhere while calling on the help of Meteor and still cant win. only thing they got in common is an oversized helmet.
the Trend of bad guys:
FF1-6 The crazies.
FF7-10 Impossible hairdo's
FF11-14 Oversized Helmet Accessories.
So everything he draws looks exactly like Judge Gabranth?
That's due to a combination of unquestionable appeal ("omg dragunz r t3h awsuum" => 90% of the servers rolls the dragon race) and how badly the writers back themselves into a corner when establishing the lore.
On Ivalice: Despite the fact that I did not like tactics advanced 1 & 2 and never got past the first 20 minutes of FFXII due to ear bleeds induced by the terrible dub, Ivalice's concepts were very interesting and their takes on the jobs even moreso. Would make for an interesting game.
Yes we know how well they have been handeling animation lately now don't we? Why must you shoot down everything XI related? Do you not agree that unique racial animations had great polish to them instead of everyone swinging the same axe the same way no matter who they are?
Guess I'm just used to things being better...You seriously can't have any good reason to denounce that having a better animation set was a big plus for the game.
I want to be younger(and prettier, sigh)
http://i873.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps3f1e836c.jpg
MAYBE by 25~30 years younger...
Yeah, pretty well. Therefore I have faith that it will be just fine, Mr. Cynic. People call me the no police, yet lately it's you that's been one of the most cynical people on these forums and (seemingly) shooting down anything that gets announced.Quote:

file it under "nice touch."Quote:

Better than what? Whats with the past tense anyway? XI is still running. Regardless, I didn't say its animations were bad or that XIV's were superior- you're putting words in my mouth. All I said was animation improvements are already on the agenda, which is nothing more or less than the truth as it has been given to us by Yoshida.Quote:

How bout we let them actually implement the new animations before we pass judgement? We're in the home stretch at this point- It's not like 2.0 is some distant fantasy waiting to be imagined- It's not far away anymore.
I guess you and me consider the word "Removed animations" to have different meanings.
I consider it to mean they....Removed the animations.
You seem to think it means they will add it back in at some later date.
I don't "Denounce everything they announce" I post as I always do against the things I think will degrade my play experience. Focus on instanced content, regional servers, and the removal of amazing game animations (And other things such as the removal of mob AI) are on my list of things I feel detract from the game.
If you weren't too busy nitpicking my post history you might notice I still post positively about many aspects of 2.0 that I'm looking forward too such as housing, the new graphics engine (Sans animations) and a few other subjects. just because I voice my opinion strongly on some subjects doesn't mean I'm against the game.
I'm not "Waiting for the new animations" because as far as they have told us, they are simply removing some of them for "Gameplay puposez"
they removed certain animations... that impeded certain actions. They didn't remove all animations. Those animations in question are ones I'm totally fine being without. Maybe you're not fine, and that's fine, but we're talking about two totally different things. You SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED unique animations for casting spells (among other things) and these ARE being added, not removed.Quote:

The animations being removed for "gameplay purposez" are (in my view) minor, trivial, transitionary animations e.g. between moving and stopping). Again- just my opinion, and I'm not imposing it on you or trying to change your mind.
