Video could have been Poorly encoded, which can make any video lag to no ends. I highly doubtthe gameplay itself is going to lag much.

People and their Grass fetishes I tell ya... lolz, I'm not sure what your seeing.. but La Noseca does have grass ( maybe less than than 1.0) but certainly La Nosceca has more Grass than Thanalan. Personal opinion mind you ;)

why is it that I see Yosh-P and the devs sitting around cackling like mad scientists because they released this trailer saying something like, "Those fools don't realize that footage was really from 3 months ago and we'll knock their knee highs off mid october" *shrugs* other that that one shot that gets thrown around it seemed very nice to me and i can't wait to see the finished product

....... Nope Thanalan has less Grass they just have more '"Taller" scattered, but La Noseca has more "smaller" grass through the whole region. ( that's more grass in my eyes)

Some times I wonder all you people that love to talk about grass smoke it..... o.o

I can't understand what this trailer is supposed to accomplish. It's like expecting people to get hyped up for a car by showing a commercial where you see the car randomly stopping every few seconds.

A few months ago Yoshida didn't want to show us gameplay footage, because he didn't feel it was of good enough to show to the general public. I can only imagine how bad that must have been, if he thinks the footage in this trailer is of acceptable quality.

As someone who was born and raised in the desert, we had tall grass, and in some parts it was everywhere. It wasn't exactly green, but it was there.

The reason you can have tall grass in deserts is because most plants in the desert are more efficient at using water. It's not as hard for them to grow in arid areas.

Otherwise all the above picture linkers need to learn to read - I didn't say grass couldn't grow in a desert - but without an awesome gardener it makes no sense that La Noseca wouldn't have more and better grass.

I was also born in the desert. I didnt say it cant have grass - but compared to La Noseca it has a shit ton of grass.

La Noseca has an environment that grass thrives in. Yet all you see is the 2d texture on the ground.

In an evolutionary sense, taller isn't always better. If grass in La Noscea can get an adequate amount of water and sunlight whether it's tall or not, it can use those resources to put toward propagating their DNA, which is the number one priority of any evolving group of organisms.

But all that doesn't even matter, what does matter is that tall grass can occur naturally in the desert, and it does.

Based on lore Thanalan was a lush forest basically, so either its going back in that direction in the future for god knows whatever continuity error, or Noseca was heavily unfinished...or that's just how it looks on the "better" graphics engine.

So lets walk all the way around the point that I was saying "why the hell does Uldah have grass" and all La Noseca has is a 2d texture. Even plains or w.e the other person wanted to call them has ankle high and higher grass.

And instead lets talk about "tall plants occur naturally in the desert" even though i never said they cant.

that's why that "person" mention plains and plateaus. technically LN "has" more grass since its more spread out in thanalan due to it being said desert. it's not all green on the ground and maybe just maybe to keep it with engine it has to be that way so we can have more with the game. instead of what we have right now which is kinda the same LN doesn't have much "Tall" grass it has patches of it but not a lot of patches.

btw, those bold and underlined text are the areas then that should have been expanded on the way it is it looks like you're saying that it's impossible for it to be like that ^_^

Ah yeah not trying to say it was impossible, sorry for that.

I just felt like a desert that has more grass (only counting 3d models) feels awkward. When you play oblivion or skyrim and remove all the grass the nice foresty/(anywhere with grass) areas feel so naked, I want my grass dammit lol.

And La Noseca deserves a helping of green (ankle biting) grass.

(Also said other person because I couldnt find the post relating to plains - so just said "that person" :P)

like i said it really doesn't because all that green is grass and that's only in One shot we haven't seen the whole area yet. I won't say it's all going to be like that and I'm not going to say it won't. Thanalan does have less grass in that then LN does if you think about it that way. ^_^

Relying only on 2d textures to represent grassy areas is sooo early 2000 :P.

This is not the PS3 game. Yoshida said they would be showing that mid October and would start by showing screenshots. The lag is just the video not the game.

Youtubers are giving this trailer absolute hell because of the lag/fps........

We know how smooth the game runs we have seen live gameplay.
