Actually I'm kinda hoping it would be similar to FFXI's dual-wield where you equip two different weapons, only this time around it's not based on a trait just the nature of the weapon (IE: any job can dual wield single handed weapons). The stats on the 2nd weapon could give classes like GLA a much needed DPS boost, and since they're sacrificing their shield they basically lose out on half of their defensive abilities giving a bit of compromise.
Although, thinking about it, it should probably be restricted to DoW classes/jobs. I can just imagine how carried away BLM's and WHM's would get if they could dual wield Triple Melded INT/HMP/MND/PIE wands/scepters when they're already very strong jobs.
